Het Bestekje

I was a bit nervous about this place — doesn’t look like anything special and almost verges on brown café-​ish with food. The friend that suggested it said only get the steak — he has gotten other things in the past and been disappointed. So this review is for the Black angus club-​steak which we both got, mine cooked perfectly medium rare and his medium. It comes with salad with a light dressing and thin french fries with three kinds of sauces. It was excellent — much better than steak I’ve had in fancier steakhouses in Amsterdam — and for 21,50 you really can’t beat it. We got the smoked salmon starter which was okay but a bit overpriced (9,50 if I remember correctly). We had two desserts; the apple strudel was recommended by the waitress as being homemade and it was good. We had a nice bottle of Spanish red wine that was around 20 euros. The waitress was extremely attentive and friendly. I really enjoyed it and will definitely go back for the steak and wine but would probably second the recommendation of my friend to skip the rest of the menu.

Vorspeise war echt lecker ! Hauptgang war ok ! Fleisch war in einer sehr guten Qualität, was man von den Bratkartoffeln nicht behaupten konnte ! Das Personal scheint mir aber etwas Überfordert zu sein ! Nicht nur unsere Bestellung wurde einfach mal vergessen und dadurch wurde unser Aufenthalt zum Marathon
