This is one of the best places to eat anywhere! The staff is absolutely incredible(and give some of the best service I have ever had!) and I would eat here everyday if I could. I would give it 10 stars if I could! The food is some of the best around! The ambiance is amazing and I would suggest this place to anyone in the area! It’s such a gem!

This is a hidden gem in Northgate neighborhood. Food is always consistently good, great service, and very friendly staff. Tonight, we had a spicy angle hair pasta with wild shrimp and Tuscany salmon with grilled vegetables. It was grilled nicely with slight crust around the skin. For $ 15 per entrée, it was well worth it.

This is not the first time I’ve been here and had not so great service. I see only one server, 5 tables are not bused and people looking for places to sit down. When I asked for service the employee was put off. Not like nordstrom and disappointing.

The Marketplace Café in the Northgate Mall Nordstrom used to be mediocre with poor service. It has changed about 180 degrees and is now welcoming and comfortable. We have eaten here a couple of times recently and have been pleased with both our entrees and the service. There are many chicken and vegetarian entrees, along with a few with salmon, and one, Penne Bolognese, with sausage. I have had the penne both times and it was rich and very good each time. My husband has had 2 different chicken sandwiches, each being very good, as well. The service has been quick and cheerful. We did not find the order system awkward, just different. If you are confused when you arrive, the employees are happy to fill you in on the system. We are in our 60’s, which, Sonia, is not«geriatric» — we prefer to be called elders or seniors. And we are quite happy to find this needle-in-a-haystack — a comfortable and serene setting with good food. No loud rock blasting here. We love it!

I went there around 2pm. Service is still good and fast. I am from ca, but this café is offering totally different menu than the one we are having locally. Love their salad and pasta. Seafood is VERY fresh

Really confusing. I waited for someone to greet me and was ignore. I guess you’re supposed to go to the cashier to order but trees a sign that says to wait… So I stupidly waited! There’s a pillar in the way blocking the view of the cashier from the spot where you wait. So dumb to set it up this way!!!

I ate at a Nordstrom Café for the first time in the Bay Area. I’ve heard people talk about it, but had never been there. What a nice find. Last weekend, I had lunch at the Northgate location and was equally pleased. Portions are generous and service is top-notch. I agree with some of the other reviewers that navigating the place is a little odd at first. It’s hard to reconcile an «order and pay for your food at a counter» concept with the idea that you’re in Nordstrom, but if you can get past that, you won’t be disappointed. I had the salad nicoise and it was excellent. Yes, it’ll cost you more to eat here than at the food court, but I think it’s worth it. It’s nice to sit in a quiet, relaxing environment after you’ve been shopping ’til you’re dropping.

Besides the fact that this place is incredibly confusing to maneuver, it is surprisingly good as a lunch option and a step above Panera. So here’s how it works(or at least how we did it and somehow managed to get food). — There are menus out front of the café. Read through and select what you want to order. — Go up to the cashier and order what you’d like. You order drinks, food, desserts, everything here. — The cashier hands you a black booklet with your receipts. A server comes over and takes the black booklet and then brings over your drinks, food, desserts, etc. — Once you are finished, it’s strange because they bring over a business card with your name and chocolates. It is really unclear about whether or not you are supposed to tip… but I made the assumption that you’re supposed to. I didn’t have any cash on me(I wish I had been able to add it when I purchased my food but didn’t see a tip line) so I ended up going back up to the cashier and using my card to get cash and leave a tip. Confusing! Anyway, I had the tomato bisque with a crostini, a green salad, and half a turkey sandwich. All three were really good — and I would order them again. I also splurged and had a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie which was awesome. All for around $ 12, not including tip. This is a good place to come if you happen to be at the mall and are all shopped out or need a break. And it’s nicer than Panera.

I ate here the day after eating at Nordstrom Café in Alderwood Mall(Lynnwood). There’s a huge difference. At this location, the service was still excellent, and I was able to get seated much faster. The interior was darker without the windows at the Alderwood location, but it was still nice. The problem is the food. At Alderwood, the food feels gourmet. I’ve had salad, the Rustic Pizza, the soups. It always tastes light, and high quality. At Northgate, we had two sandwiches. The French dip and the California Grill. The French dip was very good, but a bit more mayo that I’d prefer. The California was so buttery and greasy. I didn’t care for it, and I was surprised that they made it that way. Just an FYI. The food is different selection in Northgate than in Alderwood or Bell Square. You can’t get the light pizzas in Northgate. If you like greasy food — some people do – you might really like eating in Northgate. I don’t. I was disappointed because I skipped the mall food and the nearby restaurants, with a very high expectation, and this came in at «good», instead of «excellent». Marginal 3.5 Star. Rounding up to 4, just because I know I’m not exactly comparing apples to apples.

If I can’t think of any other place to eat for lunch, Café Nordstrom is my saving grace. Located inside Nordstrom on the 3rd floor, you get to browse through the selection on one of the menus near the entrance of the café. Once you are ready, you order and pay first at the cashier, and then seat yourself at one of the tables with your receipt. Service is prompt and friendly. I especially enjoy the café/bistro feel as it reminds me of dining in Europe. My favorite is their salmon salad and their sandwiches. Most of the items are a little bit priceier than other places, but the quality is excellent. Once you are done with your meal, you get a piece of mint chocolate for dessert. I love Café Nordstrom!

So the décor is sort of geriatric(think 80s fabric benches and dim lighting) as is the clientele, but the food and service are better than any other option in the Northgate Mall. My fiancé and I ordered the French dip — which they split onto 2 plates without us even asking(yay!) and a lemon bar. You order and pay for your food, and then your waitress brings it out to you. Super easy and fast. Lots of sandwich and salad options to choose from and reasonable prices to boot. Free wi-fi. I’d come here again!

They have good food and service. It is a bit expensive though… When you walk in, you order and pay first. Then just go ahead and take your seat with your receipt A waitress/waiter will come get your receipt and will bring your order out. When your food is pretty much gone, the waiter/waitress will bring you thank you card with mint chocolate sticks! Some people leave gratuities for the service before you leave but it is up to you.(I leave about $ 1 or 2 every time) *****When you order something from special menu, don’t forget to ask for some bread when the food comes out! They used to give it out without asking but now, I think, you have to ask for one******

Love the chicken caesar salads and tomato soup! Its your basic lunchtime items in a nice environment with the best customer service around. You can’t go wrong with Nordstrom Café after a long shopping trip.

Awesome food, awesome service. Because the Nordstrom Café is a department of the Nordstrom store and not a stand-alone restaurant – and also because Nordstrom is still a multi-million dollar, thriving business – they can afford to hire a proper staff, unlike some places where there is only one cook and maybe one server. Here there are many cooks and at least four servers on duty, plus at least one cashier, and when it’s busy two cashiers. You go to the counter and order what you want, pay there, and the server brings it out to you. Or you can go the traditional route and pick a table and order that way. The French Dip is the best one I’ve had. They use a fresh-baked baguette with actual roasted beef and home-made au jus, plus white cheddar – indescribably delicious. For another $ 3.50 they will pile extra beef on, and for $ 15 it is worth every penny. A good selection of fresh baked cookies, pastries and other refreshments at the counter make this one of the premier Cafés around. The apple and goat cheese salad with champagne dressing for $ 9 is a bargain, and the best deal in the city can be found here: Roasted Salmon Angel Hair pasta in a light cream sauce for under $ 12.00 that the bigger restaurants cannot touch! Top recommendation. It’s a great place to relax between shopping rounds within the store.

Really good food! I’ve ordered to go 2 or 3 times for a small group and the order is always 10 or 15 minutes late. Otherwise I love it!

This is one of my favorite cafes in the North end. I’ve always like everything I’ve ordered here, they have many healthy options, service is prompt and friendly, the store is clean, and it’s not in the food court of the mall. Walk-up counter ordering followed by table service later makes me have to remember to have a few bucks for tip in my purse, as you don’t add it to a bill at the end like most places. All in all, a great choice if at Northgate Mall.

Nordstroms Café. This is probably the finest place that serve the best Santa Fe Chicken & many other sandwiches. Every time that I come to Northgate Mall, it’s near impossible for me to dodge this joint. The waitress /waiters are very friendly. It’s a great place to dine. The only thing that I would recommend them to do, is that they need to build a private path leading from the kitchen to the dining area, so that the waiters and waitress don’t have to keep asking customers waiting in line to excuse them just so they can go by. That’s definitely a safety concern for both customers and the employees. …other than that, it’s a nice place.

Located on the top floor of the Northgate Nordstrom. It was quiet when I got there on a mid afternoon Friday. I didn’t order anything so my review is mainly for a department store restaurant and what it appeared to me. It looked pretty upscale, relatively speaking, when compared to another department store café. Maybe next time I’ll order something. These were fancy cookies I didn’t order any. I didn’t dare. This Seattle road trip was already damaging enough. Chocolates too!

We’ve eaten in and taken out several times here. It’s in a quirky spot in the Northgate Nordstrom’s 3rd floor and the dining area looks like a Denny’s missing some lightbulbs, but it works. You grab a menu when you enter, place your order and pay at the register, then sit down with your number. A server(it’s always been the same chill guy every time I’ve gone, I like him) will show up with waters, silverware, and ask if you need anything else. Then he’ll bring your food and you’re good to go. We pretty much only order sandwiches. We’ve had the Sante Fe Chicken, Portobello mushroom, Turkey club, and Cranberry turkey(aoili on the side). Sandwiches come with salad or chips. The salad isn’t a lazy salad either, it has matchstick carrots, grapes, small plum tomatoes, vibrant leafy greens, and your choice of dressing(we get champagne, buy a whole bottle for just $ 5). The chips are kettle chips. If you’re hungry, you can definitely eat everything, but a lunch would suffice for a half serving. I’ve tried a cup of their tomato soup before, it’s a disappointingly small cup for almost $ 4 and too tart for my preference. I bet their cobb salad is good, but I can’t seem to not order a sandwich when we’re here. Their desserts also look wonderful, but everything adds up(in dollars and calories) so I gotta pass on the sweet stuff. If you dine in, upon paying, you get a little stick mint thing which is nice!

The salmon angel hair pasta is amazing… so is the french dip sandwich… droool… Ordering at the café is so quick and painless and you can sit at a booth or a table, take your pick. Service is really speedy but the quality of food is a notch up from a regular«café.» They serve pastas, salads, sandwiches(all the regular café food) but with an extra oomph! The portions are generous and filling so you never have to worry about not being full. It’s definitely a place that I’d come back to if I needed a place to eat at the mall, it’s one of the best places to eat at Northgate, for sure.

Nordstrom Café is probably one of my favorite place to eat. I didn’t realize that they have a café until my friend Sage mentioned it. I was also surprised the first time I went because I was expecting cafeteria-esque food but looking at the menu I knew I was in for better quality. They are committed to serving sustainable, natural and organic dishes which is a big plus for me. The tomato basil soup served with crostini is highly recommended. I’ve also had their Wild Mushroom Ravioli. The parmesan cream sauce is absolutely delicious, but probably high in calories ’cause it’s so good. :) I love this place. :)
