I got take away order and was very disappointed with the flavors. Thai iced tea was watered down, and all the noodle dishes I ordered tasted a little bland. I used to eat here a lot but the food has gone down. With so many Thai restaurants near by I won’t be ordering from here again.

I decided to order from this place based on a review of another Unilocaler at the place I was going to go. They recommended that people go here instead. I called ahead and placed my order. Chicken Red Curry and Chicken Pad Thai. Hands down this is the best red curry I have had Hillsboro or Portland. I usually find that I have to go into Portland for favorable food. The pad thai was good but not my favorite. Next time I will ask for a little more spice. I’m sure it tastes a little better as well if you eat it when it is served. Location, This place has lots of parking and easy to find. It’s off 205th which is close to me and worth a little drive. Fast friendly helpful service I will return.

Stopped by here for lunch. Lots of available tables and a nice quiet spot. Started with the chicken satay as an appetizer. Chicken was very good. The peanut sauce was definitely lacking flavor. As a main dish I ordered the drunken noodles and he ordered the pad Thai. I ordered my dish mild which one regretted. It was decent but lacked any real flavor. The paid Thai was ordered with medium heat and was fairly good. In the weekends they serve the dinner size only and it was a generous portion. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here but it’s a good place to stop by if you’re in the area.

Good local spot that knows the regular visitors, we got take away for 12 people and an hour later dashed in to pick up the food. The food could use a bit more of a punch(whether that is spice, tang, zest or sweetness) but it is close to home and reasonably priced. Zab Thai often has partnerships with companies around Portland so make sure you check!

Pretty disappointed in the food, but mostly the service. Came for an early dinner on a Friday and it was about half full. We were seated promptly, and given water… the only glass of water we’d get until the end of our meal! We ordered calamari for appetizer, it was ok, lightly battered but minimally seasoned. Ordered spicy basil chicken, duck fried rice, and pad Thai. Food took about 25 minutes and came out warm. Spicy basil chicken was not spicy, but the crispy basil was good. Duck fried rice was not good, duck over cooked and dry, rice was chewy. Pad Thai came out over 20minutes after the main dishes! Asked twice about why it took so long and asked for water refills both those times. Finally got the pad Thai after we had finished the rest of the dishes and were already full, and then the water finally came!!! Pad Thai was the worst dish of all, dry noodles, no condiments on the side, just noodles and chicken, no peanuts or bean sprouts or greens. Too bad we won’t be coming back, as this place is so close to our house.

I love their crab fried rice, yellow curry, and pad Thai. The atmosphere is very clean, with lots of light, and good noise level. Service was also great and the best thing is the free refills on Thai iced tea!

Food is good. We dined in the restaurant once and did take out other time. The portion sizes are decent. Not much of a wait time. The green curry we ordered was slightly soupy but tasted good. The wait staff seem to be pretty bored and stone faced on both the occasions. When I ordered for the takeout the front desk lady did no mention of the spice levels and we ended up getting bland food.

We generally love this place, but had such a bad experience this last time. Ordered 3 dishes– they brought 2 out, and took their time to bring the third out 10 – 15 minutes later without acknowledgement. Gave us the wrong beverage, and left us sitting there for a solid 10 minutes after we boxed our food waiting for the check. We had to go ask to get them to remember to print it. Great food, but we felt so disregarded– they didn’t care at all about our experience or time.

We visited this place for dinner. They have bunch of Vegan options!!! I didn’t expect so many vegan options in a Thai restaurant in Hillsboro. Had fried Tofu and Garlic pepper stir fry. Both were yummy. The service was great and they are friendly. Overall a great experience and I’ll be back for sure.

I am pretty disappointed in my most recent experience at Zab. I remembered this place as a nice go to, but I don’t plan on visiting again any time soon. The service is prompt, however the waitress was quite cold, curt, and very standoffish. I didn’t see one smile out of her. She did make sure we had enough water, however. They were«out» of the crispy egg rolls. How does this happen? I’ve never encountered this. When our food was brought to the table, it was COLD. If there’s anything off putting about a restaurant to me, it is cold food and poor customer service. Please get some better wait staff that can actually greet and smile at your customers, and make them feel welcome.

love this place, everything here we have tried from noodles to curry has been delicious. Never overly crowded and service is usually timely.

I have always visited this place for lunch. Its a family run Thai place. Owner is friendly and she often checks how food and rest of the things are. Food was fresh and tasty. Though curry was little sweet for me. We ordered Red curry and Mussaman curry with Tofu and veggies. Impressive Veggies variety and tasted fresh too. I wished my red curry was more red. She mentioned due to more coconut milk it is yellow red. Two curries had different vegetable varieties. They have vegan options too. This is one of the best Thai options in Hillsboro. I just hope I don’t need to wait longer for my order. Here is my rating — Taste −4÷5 Ambience– 4⁄5 Service −4÷5 They give Intel discount too!

I went to Zab Thai for the first time last night and had the Massaman Curry with tofu, ordered vegan. It was pretty standard Massaman Curry, perhaps a tiny bit bland but still good. I would ask next time if they could give it a little bit more heat. The portion size of curry and rice was generous. Our service was friendly and prompt. I’m giving Zab Thai an extra star for having such a vegan friendly menu which indicates which items can be ordered vegan. It takes the Russian Roulette feeling out of eating at a non-vegan Thai restaurant. I would definitely give Zab Thai another try when out in the area.

Stopped in on a Friday at around 11. Ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Thai Iced Coffee($ 10.25). Both were yummy. The Thai iced coffee was a little too sweet, but that’s expected with that drink. Service was friendly and about 15 minutes(if you are in a hurry, call ahead). Overall it was an excellent experience and I will be back. Sidenote: I’m not a Thai snob and am pretty easy to please so if you like good food you will probably like their food. If you are really picky about your Thai food, I would give it a chance but I don’t know how helpful my review is for you.

What we got: Duck fried rice Drunken noodle with chicken Thai iced tea The duck fried rice was pretty delicious. Haven’t seen that being offered at other thai restaurants in the area. It has pieces of duck skins in it and I am sure the duck fat made it all the more tastier. I don’t have too much to say about the drunken noodle. It was pretty standard but a little bland. At some point I almost thought I was eating pad see ew. It was still good, just needed a kick of chili sauce on the side. Thai iced tea is Thai iced tea. Loved that they had free refills. However I do have two complaints. Three of the forks on the table were DIRTY. By dirty I mean there were pieces of dried food stuck on them. I am sure it’s been washed in a dish washer but maybe they should soak the utensils before they put them in. It’s one of my huge pet peeve. Really doesn’t matter how nice the décor is. Just make sure the utensils are clean! My second complain is the menu. For my noodle dish it had two prices listed L:$ 7.50, D:$ 9.50. L means lunch and D means dinner(duh). I went during lunch time so I thought I would be paying $ 7.50 but apparently that only applies during weekdays. That was printed on the very bottom of the cover of the menu. Two dollars isn’t a big deal but it would be nice if the waiter/waitress would remind people, so there wouldn’t be any surprises when people get their bills.

Pac Thai’s great cousin. Pumpkin curry, spicy crispy chicken basil, drunken noodles and pad Thai are favorites. Tonight we went out on a limb and tried some new dishes: spicy green beans(vegetarian style, with fantastic spicy chili sauce), and mango chicken(sweet & savory). Both were excellent and will be added to our regular selections. Clean, fresh and bright colors cheery atmosphere. Friendly and fast service. Family friendly.

I love Zab Thai. I generally call my order in and their staff is so helpful and polite. However, when I do dine in, I always get their Thai iced tea(so amazing!), calimari and pad thai. They’re accommodating(I love extra cilantro in the pad thai) and I never need to doctor my order to make it tasty. Their fast, efficient and I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad experience here.

I used to be a regular here. The place now has a new owner and i hadn’t been here in a while. I placed a to go order via phone. I had to call 4x as no one was answering. I went with the crispy basil chicken which was always a good dish. This time, the meat was a bit chewy and not crispy. I will stick with thai noodles etc for my crispy basil chicken needs.

This is one of my go to lunch places from work. This place serves good thai food. I love the appetizers here. They make a mean yellow curry and really good friend rice. I have tried many other main courses like the lemon grass chicken and pad Thai. All taste good. I rate this 4 stars due to their consistency in giving good Thai lunch.
