Holy shit this place is fantastic! I’ve been here four times now and i never have anything negative to say. I work at a gyro house and mine is complete garbage compared to these guys. They hand make everything! The pita, the deserts, the hummus. Omg the hummus. You can’t find hummus like that unless your in the middle east! And the customer service is so amazing, they are always so polite and welcoming, even if the food was crap(and trust me, its not) i would still go back just to talk to them! I recommend this restraunt to anyone and everyone who know what good food is! Thank you Gyro house! You’ll always be my love affair!

The food in this place is amazing and affordable. Little on the busy side, so you might have to wait a little but well worth it. Their taziki sauce is AMAZING!

This place is absolutely phenomenal! The food is delicious, the portions are huge, and the price is extremely affordable. I come here from time to time, and I am always stunned by the quality of the food, the excellent service of the staff, and the shock that a gyro this good is under $ 8! The baclava is fantastic as well! I have also had a few of their pizzas, and they are pretty decent too albeit a bit expensive for the size. The restaurant isn’t in the greatest location, but they have done an excellent job building it into a wonderful place to eat. I am also impressed by their efficiency, and I hope their restaurant continues to thrive.

First time ever having a gyro and Mediterranean food besides a bite of my girlfriends one time. And this place was probably one of the best«first food experiences» I’ve ever had. The staff was incredibly welcoming. We were greeted and seated immediately. We came in contact with about 4 different employees. I was responded to with«yes sir» and«thank you» and«you’re welcome». They all seemed like they enjoyed their job which rubbed off on my girlfriend and I after being exhausted for a long Portland weekend. The atmosphere was great. The rugs on the ceiling were really cool. Sort of reminded me of my trip to Qatar. The portions were huge. The meat was so tender and delicious. The spicy garlic sauce was perfect. I got the lamb gyro and my girlfriend got the iskander. Our dessert was the fried dough with honey which was very sweet with a great texture. On top of all that, the price was great. I can’t say I’ll be back here soon with me living in Washington. But I guarantee I’ll visit on every Portland trip.

Very mediocre with horrible service. It’s like ordering from the soup nazi. Very stern guy behind the register who acts like your bothering him and taking up his time. Sort of hilarious. I’ve eaten here twice now(both take away). The pizzas are just cheese on top of a pita, the falafel is not fresh at all, it’s just warmed up and plopped on. There’s just no strong flavors or anything special happening with the food. I gave it two tries and that’s it. If you want real Mediterranean take the trip to Cedo’s in NE. It’s fresh and tasty.

I love to come through this place on lunch or on a weekend. Everything is on point. Generally I and my family of four can eat here on thirty-five dollars while no one goes without. The food is good, fresh though I suggest not opting for spicy garlic. The feta is great! Place stays busy depending on time of day, everyone is friendly though only two single bathrooms makes it difficult to find it unoccupied during busy hours. I recommend stopping by if your interested or considered and never executed. Owner seem customer driven and seems to be family owned perhaps? Worth it.

This place perfectly hits the price point where the quality of the food makes it very worthwhile. It’s actually hard not to make a habit of eating here if you live nearby. The lamb gyro is so good. It would still be good for 12 dollars. That lamb is the stuff that dreams are made of. It is for the price and quality of the food that this place gets 5 stars. The service is not the Gyro House’s strong suit. The employees and the food really seem authentic though, and I suspect that in the middle east and Greece, their culture does not really do customer service the same way. The quality of the food(really I just mean the lamb gyro) and the price make the customer service issues nonexistent for me.

Awesome! Food was amazing the staff is kind very welcoming! Large food portions with delicious food. The chicken gyro is a must try, the garlic sauce is the Awesome-Sauce, and the terrific tzatziki makes it a difficult choice which one to go with. Hummus is smooth and full flavor. You need to try this out for yourself! Great find — Great prices! We’ll be back for sure !!

My eyes are bigger than my stomach when it comes to bookmarking places and sometimes the geography of the places bookmarked is literally a little far fetched. However, I knew that my time to try Gyro House Mediterranean Grill would come up sooner than later, being that it’s reasonably priced and on the West Side, a place I visit, though not as often as I’d like. Gyro House Mediterranean Grill takes some, but not a lot of work to find. It’s not on a major artery. Instead, it sits in a strip mall somewhere between TV Highway to the south and the Sunset Highway(26) to the north. It’s in an area where you don’t know if you’re in Beaverton, Aloha, or Hillsboro. In this strip mall, there may be very little parking left because most of those cars’ owners are here — at Gyro House. Cutting right to the chase, the food is very good. It was fresh, delicious, and nicely seasoned. I had a gyro platter and added a side order of hummus. While the gyro was a good value, I felt the hummus was a little bit overpriced. There wasn’t a lot of hummus on that side dish. The restaurant itself is sort of interesting. There are scenes of the Middle East and the Mediterranean inside arched areas on the walls. There are also intricate rugs up on the ceiling to look at. Or you can look at the variety of West Siders, and token visitors, eating their food. The service is very friendly, be it the serving staff or management, with the people working there being enthusiastic and efficient. They use a system with numbers on a metal holder you take to the table and that’s how you pay for your bill at the register. They don’t take the payment from you at the table. I found that kind of odd. But then, maybe that’s how they can sell you some more baklava up by the register, much like a candy bar impulse purchase at Rite Aid! For me, Gyro House is a safe 4 stars. It warrants more«investigation» and a visit at a less crowded time. It might kick up toward 5 stars but, for now, I’ll leave it at 4 stars.

I’m visiting from out of town. I’ve eaten here twice in three days because the Chicken Gyro on the first visit was mind-blowing good. In that first visit I went for dinner and after one bite said, «I could eat this everyday for the rest of my life.» The second visit wasn’t as good, but it was still quite tasty… I was there during Friday lunch rush and they were really cranking out orders so not a huge deal. The chicken spices are just incredibly flavorful and well balanced, and once it’s combined with the other sauces and vegetables on the sandwich it’s perfect. Their fresh pita is great too, as is the baklava. The staff are very friendly. One guy name Omar also had a super pleasant voice. Swoon. Definitely going to dream about the good here for the next 1 – 2 years before I visit again.

Let me take a deep breath and say :“OMG, it was soooo good!!!” This place is well known in Hillsboro area. I ordered for take out tonight and it was fabulous. Lamb and chicken Gyro are the must. The meat was so soft and juicy!!! The spice and veggie were amazingly fresh. Don’t forget to request adding spicy garlic on it. The desert was a little bit too sweet . People were friendly here. I definitely will be backed!

Knocking down stars because website prices don’t match actual prices, portion sizes have shrunk noticeably and customer service(via phone) was less than professional.(I called to place a to-go order. A man answered the phone and immediately got sidetracked talking to someone next to him. He promptly forgot about me and went about having a conversation with other people while i’m still on the phone repeating,“hello? Hello? Anyone there?” I hung up after a minute and tried calling the place three times. I guess someone else figured out i was trying to call in and finally called me back. When i explained happened, she just said, «oh, that’s typical of those guys.» When i went to pick up my order, the dude answering the phones was the owner/manager. Hmmmm…) Used to drive 15 miles to eat here. Guess i won’t be making that trek anymore.

It has been a while since I have been in here. I am not sure why. I think there are a couple things that don’t make it a fave for me and I have another Mediterranean place I am very fond of. But the food here is very good. The sign said wait to be seated but the server said«seat yourself». So we did. It’s a big bright space with exposed industrial style ducts, etc. They have put decorative rugs up on the ceiling to buffer the sound which is super cool. We decided to share a vegetarian meza, a favorite of ours, for two it is $ 12.99. We added a labneh cheese plate $ 4.95, and some extra pita. The meza for two has two dolmades(tender and tasty), two falafel balls(crispy outside and fairly fluffy inside), creamy hummus, yummy babaganoush, tabouleh, and one pita bread. The labneh also comes with one pita bread. The labneh is creamy and tart. Yum. The pita here is hot and frankly perfect. One pita for two people is not nearly enough to scoop up all that yummy stuff and the server automatically asks if you want to order extra, which you do. Now this is a pet peeve of mine with most Mediterranean restaurants. The ratio of pita to creamy stuff is always off. Either 1) you get unlimited pita with a teeny schmear of unusually expensive hummus and unlimited pita, 2) you get two pitas with a mezze for three or four people (and if you’re with my child she grabs a whole one and doesn’t release her death grip), or 3) like here you get a generous serving of dip with one bread and the«extra» bread is sold separately and it is not even listed on the menu so you don’t know the cost. Come on people, just supply unlimited pita and a pile of hummus and charge a higher price if you must! Done. I have made pita before, it is cheap. I know it’s the labor cost or annoyance of having to bring people more bread. But I guarantee you it will help your business. Stingy pita restaurants don’t typically get our repeat business. It is simply annoying to have three or four people fighting over a teeny amount of bread. Even today with two people my family member(whom I love) hogged the bread and we had to ask for(and wait a long time for) another pita. Ugh. We left behind some of the babaganoush simply because there was no more bread and we were tired of asking and waiting. Sad but understandable, right? I prefer to go to Barbur World Foods for giant hot cheap pita and fluffy perfect hummus and take it home instead. Wow quite a rant, right? Ok I just realized that’s why I don’t come here that often. Nevertheless it is clean, the staff is friendly, the food is good, and we had a pleasant lunch for about $ 20 plus what I stuffed in the tip jar. I also don’t like the giant numbers on holders on the table and how you have to go to the register and wait in line to pay by your table’s number when you are finished eating. I never saw an actual ticket. I think that is weird. They do have lovely tempting treats by the register though, if you are so inclined. This place is such a mixed bag for me. Shrugs. You’ll need to check it out for yourself.

I was really excited to try this place since I haven’t had Mediterranean food in awhile. Everything looked good as they were brought out to people’s tables, the menu looked awesome, and people just kept flooding in. I knew I was in for a treat! We were seated pretty quickly and given our menus. No one came to give us water or take our orders for a good 10 minutes. I had to make eye contact with someone so they finally came. I had noticed a lot of tables weren’t waited on. The waiter finally came and said gosh I feel I’m the only one running around doing stuff, and there’s 6 waiters on duty. Well if there were that many on duty, why were there so many tables not waited on. Anyways we ordered the hummus plate which only came with 1 pita, not enough! You have to pay extra for more. Then I had the falafel plate, it wasn’t the best I ever had, it was missing something! Their spicy garlic sauce is delicious, gotta give them that! And their gyros are a hearty and generous sized portion! Had a lot of leftovers. My biggest problem was that the prices on their menu wasn’t the same as what was calculated when I paid. The cashier never told me my total, he just took my card and swiped it. After looking at the bill, everything was about $ 1 more than what was said on the menu, so I was pretty upset about it! They should preface or at least change the prices on their menu. Am I heading back there again? Not a chance!

We came here specifically to try out the Lamb Gyro sandwich with a choice of spicy garlic sauce or Tzatziki(cucumber sauce). I do have to say, it’s wonderful! Plenty of meat, which I love. $ 6.99 for that size of the sandwich is incredible. I think the spicy garlic sauce was a little too much, not very garlicy, more like spicy sauce with lots of mayo. I like it with the Tzatziki sauce better! We also had a small order of fries with spicy garlic sauce and feta on the side, fries alone is really good! We already knew we wanted to come back and try out their extensive menu! Definitely recommended!

Excellent gyro wraps! I LOVE the way they season their chicken for the wraps here. Very Mediterranean feel with a very unique flavor that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. My boyfriend LOVES their lamb. They are steak slices of lamb and he says that no one else compares to how they make their lamb here. The size of the gyro wrap very BIG and for a great value for the reasonable price that you pay. We also ordered a side of fries for an additional fee. You have the option to order small($ 1.99), medium($ 2.99), or large($ 3.99). The portion size for medium is pretty fair and is just the right amount to have as a side order to something else. They just renovated their restaurant recently so there is lots of seating space. Highly recommend if you are a fan of gyros!

Did I miss the boat? Perhaps i got the wrong thing but I was completely overwhelmed by how much feta was on my greek salad. Wanted to grab a salad on my way to the office from PDX and thought to stop by this spot. It was poppin’ when I walked in! Got the greek salad with chicken and HOOOOLYSHIIIIET y’all should change the name to feta cheese with chicken. Veggie game kinda shallow. Unfortunately, I ended up eating around the feta ocean. But the baklava was delish! And to the guy who runs the cash register/takes orders, «heeeeeeey from CA ;)» el oh el jk.

This place has amazing food. I mean really good. If I am heading to Portland I will go out of my way just so that I can eat here. This place has the best chicken gyros around, hands down. The atmosphere is great with pictures of areas that influenced the flavors of the food and the aroma of spices filling the inside. We are always seated promptly and everyone in my family including myself get the chicken gyro with spicy garlic sauce and then we share a basket of the cheese fries. Which are always served hot with the spicy garlic sauce and feta. I can’t say enough about the food, it is great. Where this place is a disappointment is with the waiters and waitresses. Every time we go here we are disappointed with the service, they are more interested in filling the seats quickly and not caring about the folks that have already been seated. They walk around looking at tables, but never have had my water filled without having to ask for a refill. This would be a five star rating if the service was better than what we received.

My boyfriend’s house is a one minute drive away from this restaurant so we finally decided to try it one night. We looked at their online menu(super easy to navigate through) and called them to make a takeout order, which truly was ready in the 15 minutes that we were told it would take. The gentleman who rang us up was extremely friendly and funny. Now for the food. The portions are HUGE. You definitely get your moneys worth when you come here. We ordered the falafel plate appetizer, a small order of fries, a lamb gyro and a hummus bi-lahmah sandwich. The gyro and sandwich tasted great, but it was a little difficult to eat because there was just so much food. I wouldn’t say that this was the best gyro I’ve ever had, but I was satisfied with my meal. If we ever return to Gyro House, it would be because of the convenience of the location and a craving for gyros. We definitely would order less food next time, though.

«Thank you my dear» is what all the men of this place say to any female that walks through their doors and the first time I heard it I thought it was a gimmick but really it’s how they treat their female patrons and it’s just so funny. We found this place by accident. We were looking for something«different»(aren’t we all?). We were running errands on a Saturday and were just tired of the same old haunts that had become our favorites. So I began to flip through Unilocal looking for Mediterranean food, great food, gyros, hummus etc… And found this place. We decided to try it. WOW. The place is in a strip mall which I admit made me wrinkle my nose a bit. However, when I walked in the first thing that hit my senses was the smell of this amazing freshly baked pita bread — I changed my mind in a hurry. It’s one of the most delicious smells that you will never forget and this place oozes of it. I think the restaurant is run by a couple of brothers — it is a family affair.(What we found in endearing was the yelling going on in the kitchen when things were busy :) «Chadi» was our server and we found him so helpful and funny. He explained the dishes we had questions about and suggested we start with hummus and freshly baked pita bread. We took his advice and were delighted we did. The hummus came out along with piping hot pita bread. I have eaten hummus all over the United States and my husband has eaten hummus all over the globe and this hands-down was the best hummus we have ever had — EVER. They warn you about how hot the bread is and they are not kidding it is piping piping hot– steam wafts from the pita pocket when you break it open. The hummus is silky smooth with a delicate flavor — I’ve just never had hummus like this before. I wanted more and more and more. Thank goodness they sell it to go. I ordered their lentil soup which is served with a wedge of lemon that you drizzle over the bowl and it’s just simply delicious. Again all of the flavors are married together perfectly in this wonderful bowl of loveliness that left me wanting to go back for seconds. Perfect comfort food. Our party ordered a variety of dishes and we began with lamb Gyros of course — I’m just warning you they are huge. Two people could share them because they are just that big. We also tried their kabobs and Chicken Shawarma– perfect! The lamb was tender, flavorful and amazing. The Shawarma have the perfect amount of curry and was garlicky with just a hint of lemon — it was blissful. There was a lot of food sharing going on at our large table and it was just a great experience. We ended up the meal with Turkish coffee and baklava. Again they did not disappoint — it was just wonderful all the way around. A few kind of funny things– remember your table number. You will need it when you walk up to the counter and pay your tab. The guy who sits perched on the barstool who runs the cash register can seem a little crabby but really he’s nice — but he will want your table number. And he will chide you if you don’t remember it:) If you order extra bread — don’t do it we did. When we ordered extra bread we thought we were ordering one or two extra pieces of pita bread but we were brought baskets! We were inundated by bread:) so remember when you order it’s by the basket not the piece. And ladies don’t be offended by «My dear» truly its sincere and genuine even if it sounds a little funny!
