They recently raised their prices by at least $ 1.25 — $ 2.00 a dish. I assume it’s to balance the lack of customers. The last few visits I made here, the place was dead although they still managed to provide marginal service. Today I ordered: Chili Garlic Fried Rice Spicy fried rice with Thai basil, bell pepper, onions, egg, chili and garlic. The entire plate was tomatoes, funny how they aren’t even mentioned in the dish specifics. I asked for Medium Heat and all I taste was Fire. My husband asked for Hot, I assume they mixed up the order as he said his was Mild. I ordered a Coke and it was totally flat and warm, so gross. I sent it back and they brought me another soda that was equally as disappointing. The glass was completely full of ice to make up for the refrigeration issue I imagine. During a previous visit — after being seated and receiving water, we were asked to move as a larger party wanted our table. The visit prior — I watched a woman clean the windows for several minutes before asking me if I was ready to be seated… Priorities…

Well — Thai Elephant changed their name to Ma– Now! Whatever that means I don’t know, but I do know the Prices went up, service went down and the menu changed. too bad. Used to like this place. Limited menu, with high prices. Service was ok, then at the end gave the waiter $ 40 for $ 30 bill and got back $ 5. Won’t be back. Don’t need to pay for New menus, high prices, and bad service.

Management change + menu change = worst Thai I’ve ever had. I used to ADORE this place. They made the most delicious Massaman Curry I’ve ever had. They were recently purchased a couple of months ago. Since then, they have dropped so significantly that it’s shocking. Their curry is watery and flavorless, they use the wrong type of vegetables(which are under-cooked), everything is over salted and tastes cheap. This is very sad. This restaurant went from five stars to one in a span of weeks. If you see favorable review on here, check their date, because this is now a place to avoid.

Don’t go here for dinner. I had a stir fried prawns/curry dish with rice and veg. Everything was cold and the rice — dried out and chewy hard. Not pleasant at all. Was it all cooked hours earlier? This was at 6:30 on a Thursday night. My friend had a stir fried beef dish, same for him. He noted that the beef was under-done and too chewy/tough. This was a disappointing experience.

BEWARE! There is something deceptive happening at this location. I’ve been dining at Thai Elephant every few months, and when I came here last night, my son was excited to see the Thai Elephant sign on the side of the building. But now, when you walk in, you see there is a new name, and new menus. It is now called«Ma Now». Huh? I asked if there was new ownership, and the answer was ‘sort of’. But aside from the look of the menus, and the small sign on the door, almost everything else seemed the same. The big sign on the side of the restaurant, the décor, the food, and even the«Thai Elephant» still printed at the top of my credit card receipt. So, is there really new ownership? If so, why do we still see«Thai Elephant» in places? And if not, why change the name? They would no longer accept my Entertainment Book coupon. We ordered mild yellow curry(substitute brown rice for white) with chicken, and Pad Kee Mao(drunken noodles) with pork. The food was pretty good. The brown rice was closer to red, but was cooked well and not too crunchy. The curry sauce had a very strong flavor, which I would describe as ‘thick’. The potato chunks were quite large, and we cut them ourselves. The drunken noodles had a nice flavor. I feel like the portion might have been a bit smaller than before, but I’m not sure. Between two hungry people, we still took a small amount home. The service was pretty attentive. I drink a lot of water, and my glass was always full. They brought the check before we were finished eating — not a big deal, but it’s always nice to throw in «Please take your time» when you do this. So, I would give the food a 3 or 4, the service a 4, and the business practices a 1. I don’t understand what is going on — Thai Elephant? — and until they make this clear, I have lots of other Thai restaurants with just one business name to choose from.

Meh… I’ve had better. If you want Thai and you’re here, it’s not bad and you probably won’t be disappointed. But it’s a middle of the road restaurant. Not great, not bad. Update: Went here for lunch. Beware! This place like to serve recooked food. I ordered pineapple chicken fried rice. When it was served they forgot the pineapple. So the server took the food to the kitchen and refried the refried rice with pineapple. When it was served it was incredibly greasy and disgusting. The initial server said they couldn’t take it back, so I stated I wouldn’t pay for this disgusting food. Finally they agreed to remake a fresh dish. Whenever you deal with resistance in the kitchen like this, there’s a good chance they’re recycling cooked food into dishes that can mask the taste. Case in point, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them take the proteins from that rejected dish and throw it into one of their curries. I doubt this place will be here much longer if they keep it up. After this, I don’t think I would return here by choice. There’s plenty of other places in the area that have far better service and better consistency and won’t leave you feeling uncomfortable.

I wish I had read the reviews before I stopped in today for lunch. The host/server was friendly, took my order right away. I had ordered drunken noodles with chicken, pretty standard Thai dish offered at every Thai restaurant everywhere. And it’s pretty much the same, with a few minor variations, from restaurant to restaurant. However, this place has a different take. What arrived at my table was a mound of poorly prepared noodles in a thin, unpleasant sauce the color of that weird tan-beige of medical equipment and bandages. But worst of all, the«chicken» was ground chicken, little clumps of balls scattered throughout the noodles. I asked the server what was up with the chicken and she informed me that they used ground chicken, but she would re-order for me and request sliced chicken if that’s what I wanted. She was pleasant the whole time, I did not have any issues with the service. But the weird hill of off-color sauce and ground chicken balls was so unappetizing that there was no way I would eat it or anything that came out of a kitchen that had put out such a disappointing, defeated product. My server understood, she had to know how gross it was, and I offered to pay but she refused, said it was fine. I left, went to Siam Lotus down the street & it was great. After reading these reviews, I suspect that the root of the problem is in the kitchen. Servers are forced to serve a sub-par product and have to deal with the consequent fall out from unhappy customers and the servers just have to take it while the kitchen continues to put out terrible food. Too bad.

Still on a quest for the ultimate Thai food. Tonight was marginal at best. I’ve been here before, and wasn’t impressed, but tonight was darn right disappointing. First of all, we got there at 6:50. They close at 9, yet seemed to be in a HUGE hurry to get rid of us– over 2 hours before closing. The male waiter was absolutely surly. He seemed to be incredibly angry about his job. Food was slammed down, our order was responded to with short barks instead of normal words– it was atrocious. I was uncomfortable for the entirety of the meal. The female waiter(since we were the only table, they tag-teamed us) was much more pleasant. The atmosphere is pretty– lots of ornate decorations. The music was painfully loud– we could hardly hear each other. And now to the food. The pad thai was good– two of us had chicken pad thai and were satisfied. Not great, but passable. The other noodle dish(gravy noodles) was flavorless and overcooked. Our food came out at different times and different temperatures. Still not the worst part; we ordered a round of appetizers. Spring rolls, wontons and crab puffs. All were obviously pre-frozen, and none of them were cooked all the way through. I bit into a still frozen solid spring roll. Ugh. Such a disappointment in a great location. There will not be a third time.

One of the best massaman Curtis I have had. The flavors were strong, the beef tender, and the balance between sweet and savory just right. The pineapples were a great addition. Will definitely go back.

Ordered Chiang mai noodles, note to self: Don’t order this again. Small portion. Pretty bland. Pineapple fried rice wasn’t tasty. Service wasn’t good. Too many servers attending. Food for 2 people should be brought to the table at the same time.

I’ve eaten in the restaurant several times and while the service is quick, they are very unfriendly. The servers just seem to be unhappy about working there and I’ve yet to see them crack a smile. However, I live just a few blocks from this restaurant and when I’m craving Thai food, I order to-go and haven’t had any issues. My favorites are the pumpkin curry and panang curry. Spring rolls are just ok — not enough filling and the pot stickers were just«meh» as well.

Highly recommended if you love Thai food. I tell all my friends and family to check this place out. The food is awesome and the portions are large. The service is quick and I’m never disappointed here. If this is your first time eating here, I recommended the yellow curry with chicken. The tom ka soup is also amazing.

I gave been coming here for years, almost every week. The chef is super generous and friendly to my daughter. My favorites to order here is their Chang Mai noodles and pad see ew. Accurate with their spiciness scale too. Great restaurant ambiance.

I drop by here for a bite sometimes when I’m already at the Streets of Tanasbourne for shopping, but this definitely isn’t a place that I’d ever go out of my way to patronize. The food is only so-so, and the service is usually quite slow. It’s also usually quite empty here, which is frankly a little depressing. I don’t like my restaurants too loud, but it’s never a good sign when a place can’t fill over 50% of its tables at any given time.

I went there for lunch. I love the Thai tea. Our waitress, the tall one with long hair, is super nice to us. I like how they let us choose pork, chicken or seafood for each dish and each choice corresponds to different prices. I tried the Chengmai noodles. It’s from the northside of Thai. I didn’t think other Thai places have that dish. I tried other dish as well and put my thought about it in each photo. Their kitchen seems to be very clean.

The 3 stars is only for the quality of the food. The portions are getting the smaller, less crab in the fried rice, less seafood in my dish more veggies. Ick! The cups were dirty when we sat at our table, we were the only 2 in the restaurant yet we got slow/bad service. The waiter gave us 1 menu to share. Why? I wish they would lower their prices just a bit, and improve their service. They are sitting great thing.

I ordered online and did not know it was in a mall. First mistake. They charged me more than the online order for summer rolls, which were terrible. For the extra charge there should have been shrimp or meat or something. The peanut sauce was terrible as well. Didn’t even taste peanut. Their speciality pad see ew was lifeless. It was supposed to have a special black soy sauce which was not present when eaten. All in all. I won’t be back again.

This has been a regular lunch option since last couple of years. They have quick service and serve complimentary veggie soup for lunch. I have tried all their curries and best I like is Yellow Curry. Sometimes I have noticed the curry to be watery if I am late for lunch. The potatoes and carrots they add in curry usually are stale:(. I have to remove them from the curry. Still it taste better than rest of the curries. Their spicy string beans again is good veggie option. Sauce goes well with rice. Other dishes that can be tried are: Pad broccoli. It goes well with tofu. Golden cashew Mussaman curry(comes with mango) Pad thai Garlic fried rice(this is really good) Tom yum soup(tangy, lots of veggie, full soup is good for 2) They accept Intel vault card:).One on one entrée free!18 percent gratuity is added to the bill. Still a great discount. I recommend this place for grabbing a quick lunch and is also good for casual dinner and take aways. I will give them 3.5***.
