If I were reviewing them for their buffet food, my rating would depend I the time of day you go. If you go during lunch or dinner when other people are there you will be fine and the food will be okay. The upside to the buffet is that it is cheap, the downside is that if nobody is getting food then the food will be out too long. The owners are friendly, as is the staff. If you’re gonna get food here though I would recommend buying it fresh or delivery instead of the buffet. I give Dragon Buffet a 4⁄5 for their food when fresh.

Dragon Buffet has a nice selection of seafood which made this restaurant great. Not to mention a large selection of other food for a really cheap price. They also had sushi and in the back a Mongolian grill that I did not try. The place looks kinda dirty but I think it had to do more with the lighting than anything.

It’s pretty ridiculous to give this place a 4 star review, I admit. But the Dragon Buffet is exactly what it aims to be, and it’s very good at being that. It is very cheap and it is a buffet. The food selection is incredibly varied and if you’re looking for a place where you can try all sorts of different foods for about 6 $, it’s really a can’t miss. Are many of the foods bland, cold and left over. Of course they are… it’s a $ 6 buffet in Chesire, for god’s sake. But, as far as cheap buffet’s go… It’s rock solid.

Awful. Used to go frequently for dinner… Had decent food and prices. Stopped by recently. Place is filthy. Stuff piled all over the place. Food over cooked or cold. Will not be going back.

Dirty. TVs cackle. Décor unsightly. Food undesirable. Buffet inexpensive. Not worth it. Ice cream is great.

Absolutely awful. Egg rolls were grease saturated. Steamed dumplings were hard as a rock(didn’t even put one in my takeout, had no desire to make a trip to the dentist with a cracked tooth). General Tso’s was bland & flavorless. Simply put, the food was hideous. Even the can of diet Pepsi they gave me free w/my takeout was room temperature — have they ever heard of keeping soda in a cooler ? Went back inside after getting my food to use the bathroom — disgustingly dirty. If I had used the bathroom before getting my food, I would have left w/o heading over to the buffet. I don’t understand how a place like this stays in business anywhere, let alone in CHESHIRE, CONNECTICUT !!!

I used to really like this place. But I went the other day and it’s really gone downhill. The food was not labeled. The salad bar was literally just pieces of iceberg lettuce no salad toppings or anything. The food really wasn’t all that good. Only thing they have going for them is that they’re still relatively cheap.

Great customer service, but the place needs to be updated and the quality of the food needs to be checked frequently. The food was cold and certain items looked unexplainable. The variety is minimal. For an all you can eat buffet, there is really nothing much to eat. It’s a family business with some of the sweetest owners, but this place definitely needs to be more attentive to the food that is being given to its customers. Would not go back.

The delivery and take out food is really good value, cooked fresh and has lots of fresh ingredients. The $ 32 meal feeds 6 easily and they’re generous with the extras. The buffet is very cheap and variable quality but you get what you pay for. The take out and delivery seems to be a few quantums higher.

Got the take out container $ 1.80 per lb. for lunch. Chicken wings, bbq spare ribs, and another type of chicken. .all were dry. seemed reheated a few times. The counter girl was not very attentive. Iam on the road all the time and just wanted something quick. Overal I will not eat there again.

I’ve been coming here with family and friends for years. And what most reviewers here seem to neglect is that at the end of the day it’s a small family business. So sure, sometimes you have to wait a few extra minutes for a fresh tray of food to come out from the kitchen, and maybe the décor is outdated, but it’s good food and good service at a price you really cannot beat. Without a doubt, I will continue to dine here for years to come.

We affectionately refer to it as «The Dragon» at the office. I’ve been coming here at random, for lunch with coworkers for a number of years. In fact, it’s become somewhat of a right of passage for new employees who join our company. The food is fairly standard for a Chinese buffet. If you happen to get it when it’s right out of the kitchen, it can be rather good. For the most part, most items are good/good enough, but have been sitting around. The nature of a buffet I suppose. They do have a few items that are more American if Chinese food isn’t your thing. Then again… why would you go to a Chinese buffet if you didn’t like Chinese food? The décor is basic, no frills. It looks a bit dated and worn out. The Dragon has a tendency to stay with you after you leave. If I wear my long winter coat, I’ll still smell the restaurant when I’m back at work. The price is fair for what you get. You can easily get coupons from local mailers or on the back of receipts. Here’s where things get interesting. Someone said the best takeout in Cheshire was from the Dragon. I paused a bit when I first heard that. I mean, I come here for lunch from time to time… but takeout? The takeout here is like it’s from a different restaurant. We usually order the broccoli with garlic sauce. The broccoli is cooked just enough and his a nice crisp freshness to it. The garlic sauce is done about perfectly. The first time I had it, I had to ask my wife: «You really got this from The Dragon? The one on Route 10? The one that’s painted a shade of green that probably causes the Cheshire Zoning board to grind their teeth at night?» Indeed it was from«The Dragon». So come here for a decent buffet. But the takeout may surprise you…

Not very good, kind of bland and made my stomach sore after eating. I will most likely not be back here. Got delivery, heard worse about the actual buffet, will most definitely not be trying that.

The food is good. Not spectacular, not horrible. I grab a to-go container once or twice a week when I’m too lazy to cook. Price is reasonable. Just beware of «off hours» ie between lunch or dinner where they may be low on certain items or the period between replenishment is longer so certain dishes sit until it’s finished or replaced. You can avoid this by calling in an order which they’ll make for you separately. Free soda or soup with to go purchase. Convenient. They’ll also deliver which is nice.

Wow. This place is disgusting/filthy. I have not been here in YEARS and here is why: 1. My father and I one day were in an adjacent parking lot and saw them getting their daily delivery of food. They must have had some chicken that was not wrapped up for whatever reason, and as they brought it from the back of the truck and into the back door of the place, it fell. The man picked it up, brushed it against himself to «rub it off» and proceeded inside. GROSS. On a competely different day a co-worker of my fathers went inside to pick up some lunch and noticed a COCKROACH on the plates that you use for the buffet. Needless to say their food handling is questionable at best, and OSHA should review their standards. F–

Not the best chinese food. They tend to leave the food out for too long. I cant really say much about the service since its mostly self serve.

What happened to the Dragon Buffet. I rememeber when this place opened it was the place to be in Cheshire. Lines out the door and some of the best buffet food you could find. My last few trips have been dissapointing at best. The place seems kinda grungy, and the restrooms, well, lets say I would rather hold it. The food is OK, when they put it out. The beef in the beef and broccoli tasted funky and I chose not to finish what I took. The chicken fingers were like rubber, boneless ribs tiny and fatty, and the fried rice drowning in butter. Wait, did he say butter? Yes, butter! I think that is odd. And speaking of butter, the butter for dipping the seafood was till in block form! Three blocks to be exact. The egg drop soup was surprisingly fresh, and the only shining star was the chicken and broccoli. I am the kind of guy that will gorge himself to well beyond safe loading levels at a chinese buffet, but I had a hard time with that today. Not a good sign. Service was not the best. A young lady seated us and took our drink order and was not seen again after she brought the drinks. I had to flag another waiter down to get a refill, and then had to ask 3 or 4 times to finally get said refill. Also the cashier gave my Mother a hard time when she tried to use a coupon. She comes here once a month, sometimes more often, and has never had that problem before. Dunno what was up with that today. I probably will not be in a rush to be back unless someone else is buying. Even then I will take my time.

I was very fond of this place awhile ago, but my recent trips have changed my outlook on this place. When I’ve gone back it has been dirtier and the food was mediocre. I also never felt«right» after eating the food. I’m in no rush to get back there.

i hate buffets, so maybe 2 stars is me being nice? i guess 1 would be worse. i have been to dragon buffet on a few work lunch outings and its always ok, not really bad but not really so good. if they have things you like prepared — you are in luck. they were actually pretty nice when i asked about what was vegetarian on the buffet they pointed the 2 or 3 options i had out, and offered to make me some rice. the staff was always nice, and its not super clean but not grossly dirty. it is pretty cheap. try to stay away from buffets.
