Best Chinese food I’ve ever had! I get so excited every time I know we are going to order(like today!) because the food is so good

My unknowing wife went here again and surprised me with take out on her way home. 4 years later nothing has changed. The best part of the meal was the white rice and duck sauce packets. I want to say something positive at this point but I can make white rice at home and the duck sauce packets are the same ones you get at any Chinese takeout.

Decent for Chinese food in the area. I’m picky with Chinese food and they usually satisfy me. I order the same things every time so I can’t speak to most of the menu but they get my order right and done on time, and I haven’t had any complaints. Hubby thinks the crab Rangoon is subpar. Take out is always busy when I pick up my orders so that must be a good sign. :)

Best Chinese restaurant in town. Very pleased with every time I order from here. Food is always hot and is always ready when they say it will.

It’s really convenient to have a good, stable Chinese greasy spoon takeout restaurant in town. If you go in with these types of expectations, you will be pleasantly surprised. If you are expecting a tour through Chinatown or authentic cuisine, then you’d be best off looking somewhere else.

I would probably never sit and eat in the actual restaurant seeing as that they have probably one of the most disgusting looking fish tanks with fish that look like they could end up in the fryer one day… but aside from the ugly appearence, China Dragon has some of the best Chinese take out around. There is only one other Chinese place in town and it’s absolute garbage compared to this location. Every weekend this place must make a killing because there is always a long lone of people waiting to pick up their orders(so at least you know it’s freshly made)! Their egg rolls are always my favorite part of the meals! Chicken and broccoli along with the pork fried rice is the best!

After reading the reviews I was so excited to try this restaurant. It turned out to be a huge disappointment. I’m a big fan of chinese food and have tried over 25+ chinese take out restaurants. This place did not even make it to top 10 on my list. I judge chinese restaurants by their chicken with broccoli and shrimp lo mein’s. The chicken with broccoli was blend and literally one of the worst things I’ve tasted. The shrimp lo mein is a little different than the typical lo meins but i give it maybe a 4 out of 10. Very disappointed in this place!

My family and I have been ordering from China Dragon since early 00’s when we moved. Here in Cheshire there is not ONE single DELIVERY Chinese restaurant, this is what this place lacks. I wish they delivered, they would make a killing in this town. Regardless of that, I have never had a bad meal here. Their BBQ spare ribs are tasty, very fresh. Sometimes when we order the lo-mien it is a little oily. My mom always orders everything hot and spicy, and they will bring it if you ask for it!!! This place overall has great food and customer service. Our ongoing joke when we call is they always say 20 minutes every time you call, but it will be ready quicker than that ;)

Second visit and just awful. Shrimp Lo Mein was drenched in salty soy and oil which meant you couldn’t tell where the shrimp was. Chicken and Broccoli was bland and flavorless. Pork Fried Rice would have been passable except for the deluge of raw onion. Still have the Egg Drop Soup which I am willing to give a second try. Initially it tasted too salty. Everything else went in the trash. Miss the days when Home Village in Hamden was open.

Been here a couple times and like it a lot. They have some of the best hot and sour soup I’ve had and their dumplings are also outstanding. Pork lo mein is good and not to greasy. Only thing I haven’t loved is the general tso’s chicken because I thought it was fried to much and was too crispy, but I know some people like it that way. Overall, this a stellar joint and I will continue to frequent this place

I really like this place. It’s my favorite Chinese takeaway. The food is always prepared perfectly, and the staff is super friendly.

China Dragon is an exquisite culinary experience. If you want the best NY style Chinese food, look no further. As a native of China, I can say hands down this is the best Chinese restaurant in a 50 mile radius. The only other place I can think of that is better is back home in China. The delectable C19 and C20 entrees are well rationed and priced. I ordered this food for my wedding catering and all of my family and friends said the food was to die for. IT certainly hit the spot on that romantic evening with my wife and children several years ago(we have a modern family). The seafood and beef are both exquisitely fresh and cooked to perfection. The rice is hand grown and selected by one of the restaurant’s chefs. Their children are also a delight and run the restaurant with excellent customer service. If you are a local or visitor be sure to stop by one of Cheshire’s finest gastronomic monuments. You will not be disappointed.

Cheshire only has 2 Chinese restaurants. China Dragon, not to be confused with Dragon Buffet(you’ll be sorry if you mess that up!), has pretty good, high-quality food. Everything is fresh. Their vegetarian options are fantastic as well as their chicken dishes. The only negative, and this is only ME I’m sure, is their egg rolls. I don’t eat seafood of ANYKIND and their eggrolls tasted a little fishy to me. I don’t think they have fish sauce, I think it’s some sort of seaweed in there. I have a very sensitive palate so I’m sure your average person wouldn’t notice and/or care. So that’s my only complaint and I’d hardly call it that. The kids love the sweet and sour chicken, husband loves the general tso’s and orange chicken(real pieces of orange in there). I get the mixed vegetables in garlic sauce or chicken and broccoli. Yum to all. The pork fried rice is definitely better than the veggie fried rice but they’re both good. The lo mein is awesome too. It’s ALWAYS busy so that says a lot.

I love that they have so many vegetarian options. The prices are great and our large order was 100% accurate. The general tso’s tofu really hit the spot.

I originally stumbled into China Dragon with a sore throat and in dire need of some wonton soup. Since just ordering soup from the giant menu seemed crazy, I also got the shrimp lo mein. My order was ready quickly and came with those irresistible crunchy, fried noodles. Both the wonton soup and the lo mein were pleasantly surprising given how China Dragon appears on the outside. The soup’s broth had a nice depth of flavor and the actual wontons were light and yummy. The lo mein was not too greasy and the shrimp were plump and fresh. I’ve had my fair share of lo meins, and this one made it to the top of the list. On my second excursion to China Dragon, I ordered one of their combo plates: shrimp and broccoli that came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. I also wanted to try another appetizer, so I got the vegetable dumplings(pan-fried). Although this was still pretty good, I was not as impressed with this choice as I had been during my first go-around. The vegetable dumplings were not that flavorful and too doughy for my taste. Also, I assumed pan-fried meant that they would be a bit crispy, but they weren’t. Perhaps this was because their own steam made them soggy. The shrimp and broccoli tasted good, but it was lacking in serious flavor. Again, the products seemed fresh and high-quality. The pork fried rice was also tasty, but it was a little overcooked and gummy. All in all, I will definitely be ordered from China Dragon again, as there are so many choices to try!

Hands down, the best takeout in town; but then again there is only one other Chinese food restaurant in town… and it’s downright awful. They do not deliver, and takeout can be a bit annoying. Tack on an extra 20 – 25 minutes to whatever time they give you. You’ll be standing in a somewhat chaotic line while they fill orders as you arrive. The upside to this is the food is hot and fresh. Downside, not so fast food. It is worth it though. I like their crab rangoons and General Tso’s chicken(it’s cooked crispy with just the right amount of Szechuan spice). Definitely worth a try!

There’s only 2 Chinese restaurants in town(that I’m aware of), and one’s a buffet. Their food is good. It’s standard East Coast Chinese food. A solid choice, but nothing amazing. We usually have monthly.

I think folks have not had really good Chinese food. I have to say that some of the dishes I had at my college cafeteria were better than this place. I used to love Shangra-Lee in Cheshire, but it has since closed. Unfortunately, I still go to China Dragon often because it is 2 minutes from my house and contains calories which fuel my body. I do like the String Bean & Broccoli and their egg rolls are tasty. The pork fried rice, chicken with garlic sauce, sesame chicken, and lo mein are all tasteless. The General Tso’s is acceptable. I’ve tried Dragon Buffet take-out, but they are basically the same. The buffet does some things better and China Dragon does other things better. A draw.
