Golden Wok

Ate here a lot as a kid.
A lot of good memories here.
It is mostly a take out place, but has a nice seating area inside and the plates they give you are authentic china (not that plastic stuff like other places).
Food quality is great, price is great, and parking is plentiful.
If you are in the area and are craving chinese food, this is the place to go.

A great Chinese restaurant! Delivers great takeout consistently and always friendly too! This is definitely my go to place for Chinese food!

It’s always hard to find a good Chinese restaurant in a new town but I was very pleased with my order from Golden Wok. My old place gave more dumplings (8 vs 6) but they were delicious. I’ll definitely be going back

Will not be partaking in Golden Wok again as my boyfriend suffered a horrible case of food poisoning after eating here.

First time here, not really thrilled with any of the items we received.
Shrimp eggroll, meh.
Steamed pork dumpling, worst I’ve had. Bland, small amount of pork.
Dragon phoenix special… reg mushrooms, not straw. Odd sauce. The chicken meat in this dish and chicken w broccoli was reheated. That fact alone is unacceptable. Reheated chicken! It has a very different taste from fresh cooked, it’s gross.
General Tso’s — good sauce, tough, overcooked stringy chicken.
Will not be back.

Excellent selection– lots of vegetarian options. Saw in an earlier Unilocal about the cleanliness of the place so I was hyper aware of checking it out when I went. Yep, very clean– they were even mopping the floor in the middle of diner in the dining room because it was raining. Nice people, fresh produce. what more could you ask?

I’m going to start out by saying something that I know might be taken to be prejudicial; which I really want to avoid doing. However, at the risk of coming off this way, it’s the focus of my review: This is a very clean Chinese take-​out restaurant. Unfortunately, in my admittedly limited sphere of Chinese restaurant experience, many that I have visited are grimey and generally messy. I usually prefer Japanese restaurants because of their fastidious attention to cleanliness, but now some of those restaurants are being run by «non-​Japanese» individuals and cleanliness is no longer a given.
Thankfully, Golden Wok is not stereotypical. As the other two reviewers have written: they owners are super-​friendly and the food is good quality at a good price and most importantly. it is CLEAN!
They will customize any order (for example, they often have «non-​frying» alternatives for those who are dieting). Check it out, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

LOOOVEE!!! Seriously the best and cleanest! Chinese restaurant in CT, hands down. Their food is freshly made and so delicious. Must try their General Tso’s (by far their most popular item – so crispy and flavorful w/​lots of chicken!!) and their dumplings. Yummm. Chicken and Broccoli with garlic sauce is also one of my favorites. I’ve tried tons of Chinese food places places in CT and after finding this place, never going anywhere else for Chinese food again. Also, super friendly owners so if you get a chance, chat with them! Pretty typical Chinese food menu, but they’ll accommodate to your dietary needs (aka you’re vegetarian, hate onions, or want something steamed, etc.) Weekends they’re pretty busy during dinner time, but worth the wait!!! Just call your order in ahead of time!!!

LOVE THIS PLACE! the only place i have been to besides pf changs where they cook with tofu and actually do it well! being vegetarian in this area really sucks esp when you wanna eat out. Golden wok has always been one of my favorite chinese places even when I was eating chicken and beef. In my opinion the sesame tofu there is to die for as well as the vegetable spring rolls. i often travel to bristol with this food cause my boyfriend and I can’t find a better place even in his area. when i leave this area code, it will be the only thing i’ll truely miss!
