Really good food here. At some Chinese takeout places the food is either too salty or too greasy, not at China Moon. I’ve been here 5 or 6 times now in the few months it’s been open and I’ve been pleased every time. The ingredients are fresh and everything is reasonably priced. Very good wonton soup, egg rolls aren’t greasy. It’s a standard Chinese takeout menu, nothing super fancy, but definitely a solid place to go. Will be going back soon.

I really wanted to try a new Chinese delivery place because my belonged Ting Ho stopped delivering. I’m beyond frustrated; I placed an order 1.5 hours ago, live 3.5 miles and would pickup but I have a 4 month old. I’ve called them 3x because no one had the decency to call me to advise; my second call to them after the first hour required them re-​writing my address. My card has been charged at this point and we are heading into the 2 hour mark as I write this review. The customer service alone is a joke– a woman who first took my order, stated she got busy and forgot my order and that her brother is somewhere but might be lost. Can’t even tell you how the food tastes, I won’t be surprised if it’s cold– this review is just service/​delivery based. I will never order from here again…

So pleased with this place! We haven’t had a great Chinese place in Cheshire in years. We’ve even ordered a very large order– for 8 people with appetizers and it was perfect. Best place in the area– and less greasy than most too!

Got take out from here. Staff was very nice and food was ready when we arrived to pick it up. Got Hunan chicken and steamed dumplings and both were excellent. Very reasonable prices. I will definitely be back. They also deliver which is a rarity in Cheshire.

I almost gave up eating Chinese food until one day I had a craving at work and my coworker said this is the best Chinese place. She was definitely right. I always get sweet and sour chicken and the meat is always white. Ever take a bite of chicken and question what you’re eating? I can assure you that you won’t feel that way about this place. There lo mein is amazing too. Just the right amount of sauce. I refuse to eat Chinese food anywhere else.

Looks like your average Chinese place, but don’t let that deceive you! Friendly, quick service and amazing food. My mother and I ordered in the restaurant and ate there. The food came out fast and delicious. We ordered crab rangoons, fried dumplings, and beef lo mein. All were great and flavorful. Definitely some of the better Chinese I’ve had. Highly recommend.

We were here visiting from Colorado and we were looking for a Chinese restaurant like we have back home. The food was delicious and priced very reasonable. The service was excellent and they were super friendly. Highly recommended!

Just tried this place for the first time-​loved it! Better than your typical Chinese food take-​out. I will be back!

I was craving Chinese tonight but my trusty spot in town had recently burned down. :(so I Unilocaled other close by spots and came across good reviews for this place. Gave it a go and it was great! Called in the order of spicy general tso chicken, though he had an accent, he was easy to understand. Opened the door to a man with a huge smile standing in a very clean kitchen. He had told me 10 mins and it was ready before I got there. (Drive around to the back of the building for main entrance) convenient location on route 10. Got home and dug in. The food was delicious however not very spicy, will ask for extra spicy next time. But the EGG ROLL was phenomenal and I usually don’t like them!
Prices weren’t bad either.

I really like the quality of food. Hope it’s here to stay! The best egg rolls in town. Friendly staff too!

We won’t be going into Hamden for Chinese food anymore. We got our usuals and it was all pretty good. This is literally the best Chinese food place in Cheshire. Thank you for opening! BTW, the crab rangoons are amazing.

I visit China Moon for the first time last week. Ordered a platter, egg rolls and fried rice. The food was outstanding. The restaurant is extremely clean. The family/​owners are very friendly. IMO superior all around. Going back tonight to pick up some egg rolls (oh, so good) and a platter. Try this restaurant if you like Chinese food. You won’t be disappointed.

The 5-​star rating should be taken in comparison to other similar take out Chinese restaurants. The food was by far better than any other take out I’ve had in the memorable past. We had a variety including boneless ribs, pan fried chicken dumplings, shrimp dumplings, subgum wonton, house fried brown rice, and chicken chow fun. The chicken dumplings were given to us for free and were excellent. The sauce was not your typical brown sauce. It was more citrus. The shrimp dumplings I haven’t seen available anywhere other than in dim sum-​a rice based wrapper with big pieces of shrimp in each. No need to go into detail on each dish. Suffice it to say again that it was all very good.

Finally a really GOOD tasting «generic» chinese restaurant. You know the type of place– pictures of the menu above the counter, lots of free mustard and soy sauce packets.
What impressed me about China moon was how friendly the staff was, how nice and clean the kitchen looked, and how tasty the actual food is. Among chinese takeout in the area, this is clearly tops. Even simple staple dishes (pork fried dumplings, chicken and broccoli, beef lo mein) all were cooked well, not greasy, very satisfying.
Low prices and delivery seal the deal. I’m very glad we tried this place.

This was my first visit to China Moon. The family was very friendly, and they also deliver to my town (1 town over) so that’s always a plus. That makes this place the only Chinese restaurant in town that actually delivers.
