Upon arrival we were afraid to walk into a tourist trap, being so close to the center. But we were surprised in the nice kind of way! The tapas on the menu are typical Spanish, finding the ones that you would see in any average Spanish bar. Tia Rosa just made and presented them in a way that was not average. Both the presentation, with side salads, herbs and sauces made the tapas really nice and tasty. Besides that the service and the location are of the best you can get. Being situated on one of the nicest canals in Amsterdam centre, with the bridges lighted and barely any cars passing by, makes your diner even more special. The waiters very kind and accommodating. Overall a good experience and a good place to eat tapas. Note: even a Spaniard agrees with this!

Setting was nice — a medium size room with dim lighting and colorful decorations(Mexican themed decorations) it did, however, feel nice and cozy because if the candles and lighting. The food was mostly great. The toasted bread with chopped tomatoes and onions(bruschetta type side) was toasted to perfection and the battered chicken breast with the honey drizzle and pears was wonderful. Bet dish of the night. The roasted veggies were too oily though and left my stomach feelings acidic.

Excellent food, decent service, cozy environment. There are a lot of tapas bars in Amsterdam, and after trying a few I would choose to go back to this place over the others. Current prices are 20eur for a chef’s selection of 6 tapas(per-person), so a couple can expect to spend about 60eur on dinner and wine — leaving pleasantly full and very satisfied.

The day before a friend was flying home to Brazil for 3 weeks, we decided to have a nice dinner together to unwind from work and send her off the right way; stuffed and drunk :) The Sangria we ordered came promptly, was OK and moderately priced. Our waitstaff was hospitable and friendly, and entertained the Dutch ramblings of 2 Brazilians, a Latvian, Venezuelan and my culturally confused self. Lekker! We ordered 10 tapas for our 5 person party, and it was definitely enough food paired with the Sangria. The kitchen did a good job of bringing items out in a staggered order, with bread and cheese tapas first, followed by our main meat portions last. Try the lamb skewers, manchego pouches, and pollo con ajo. I’m rating this place«A-OK» because of the manager. We originally had a party of 7 that unexpectedly turned to 5, and the manager was put off by this. He made us know that there was a very large party that would be coming soon, and shushed us when they were giving some kind of speech. I would say he was being incredibly rude, but that’s par for the course with customer service in the Netherlands. Would think twice about eating here again, just because of that guy.
