Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam

This hotel is up there with my top 5 experiences in life thus far. My mom and I both appreciate good service, but also comfort. We opted to stay here because it was well recommended to us by friends, but also our Hilton rewards points. We had hit the jackpot, enough points for 4 nights. The hotel was exactly what we wanted and it was in a great location. Plus, the staff were incredibly helpful and insightful given that we had never been to Amsterdam there was a lot to learn.
When we checked in, we were told that the only rooms available were on the street level, but if we weren’t satisfied later on we could get a new room. The very nice manager allowed us to stay in the room to nap and then clean up before a light day of sight seeing. The bed was so comfy I am getting tired just thinking about it! We slept off our jet-​lag and while we were out our bags were moved to a new room with a view of the garden! It was even more beautiful! The staff was even more accommodating with our requests for tickets to all the museums, even the Anne Frank house! We were able to score one ticket, but don’t worry we both got in with some pleading…
Overall, if you want to spurge in Amsterdam this is the hotel to do so in!

I stayed one miserable night in another hotel before checking into the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam. What a perfectly lovely stay in a beautiful hotel. The staff was warm and welcoming. The hotel is in a very old bank building with twin marble fireplaces and a 17^th century staircase.
Most importantly, the entire staff was incredibly helpful. During my stay, I happened to be quite sick. A doctor was called, tea was brought, prescriptions were picked up and dinner was delivered. I was so well taken care of.
I highly recommend trying this new exquisite hotel!
