Fun atmosphere, good service, and amazing chicken wings for only 4 Euros! Great place to just hang out and listen to music or grab a drink or watch a game at. Coffee shop is separate and is downstairs which is also nice to have them divided like that. It’s also a huge bar so it doesn’t feel claustrophobic. Great spot!

Nice café kind of not right in the tourist area. Friendly people, high ceilings, which is really good if you’re not into getting second hand high. Tram is just at the door, and a lot of restaurants near it. They have really tasty coffee.

Loved this place while I was in Amsterdam. The edibles are the best quality I had while in the city. Also, they had several different strains to choose from and the atmosphere was awesome. I will definitely make my way back here when I come back!

This is an awesome place to stop in and rest your feet, get a drink, get some souvenirs, check your email with the computer time, play a short game of pool, or go downstairs to the bar and score some good smoke. Awesome awesome awesome!

Pretty touristy, though really nice selection of products. Easy to get to. When I was there is were a lot of people there and it seems to be a place that is mostly very crowded.

It «is» a Palace. I thoroughly enjoyed my many times here. Staff are friendly and location is great.

This was the least cozy and intimate of all the city’s popular coffee shop destinations. I can’t imagine why anyone would choose to visit this place over all the other options available to them… unless they were more interested in meeting other Americans than getting a feel for the local scene. Reese C. accurately referred to this as the Hard Rock of coffee shops. I checked it out, crossed it off my bucket list, and will probably never be back.

Great place to socialize, drink, and meet new people. Its packed as hell, but everyone in there is cool and mellow. This bar is probably one of the nicest smelling bar I’ve ever been too. Great experience and good variety of European drinks.

Totally and completely touristy. But I had a newbie with me and you just HAVE to go to Bulldog when in Amsterdam. Coffee shops are all over the place, but this is like the Hard Rock of coffee houses there. So we went. To, um, partake in the local culture just pop up to the man in the corner in the booth. You can either get your refreshment with or without tobacco.(tobacco, gross). You can roll yourself or have it already prepared. If you do, then it comes 4 to a pack for 12 euro. The downstairs area is small and dark. Sit back, relax and enjoy. ;)

Great fun place to relax and people watch on Leidseplein. The Door Man Miguel is super cool and very fun. I recommend you chat with him for a bit. They have a remodeled bar area upstairs where Karaōke was going on each night. I didn’t spend a lot of time in their, but I could hear some pretty good acts going on inside.

I don’t care if this is a tourist trap – I’m too old and too lazy to look for the best coffee house in Amsterdam. This was within stumbling distance to our hotel. The weed was mild and worth the twelve euros we threw down for it, though we ended up tossing out most of it because HELLO, we are old. I am glad to say that on the particular night that we went(Wednesday), I saw no fist pumping.

sup tourist trap. i went here to get a souvenir for my sister(she specifically requested it), but this is NOT the type of place i would hang out at. very generic. on the plus side it was not *as* expensive as you would think and i found that all the people who worked there were nice. they even gave me a free logo tote bag for my purchases. either way — pass.

Where tourists come to fist pump in Amsterdam! During the day, The Bulldog is just your typical bar and coffee shop(downstairs), but at night it transforms into a dark and seedy little dance club. Picture a red and blue tinted room with loud dance music blaring. My friend and I eventually migrated upstairs when I refused to dance with him and make a fool of myself. We sat at the bar and proceeded to get quite tipsy and had a bit of fun. If you’re looking for something a little more lively in Amsterdam to pick up your mood a bit, this could be the ticket. I wouldn’t stay here all night though.

Although this venue is pretty main stream in Amsterdam, it still makes for an interesting stopping point to experience the city. While wandering the streets of the Red Light district make sure you drop into the original Bulldog café — although I’d recommend a daytime trip!

Gets easily crowded, but it was good enough to the point that we ended up here at least 3 times over NYE weekend. Their coffee shop serves a variety of different strains, and their edibles are definitely of good quality(although one person said that they didn’t feel anything). They also serve a solid bar and coffee drinks as well. Their smoking area is very relaxed, can get crowded easily, but everyone is pretty friendly for the most part and accommodating. The upstairs room gives off a bar/dance area vibe with a DJ setup and numerous tables with people either smoking, drinking, or just having a good time in general. If there’s one place to go to as a tourist in Amsterdam, it would most certainly be the Bulldog coffee shops.

Quite an interesting place… Especially for this Californian who is used to the culture. I found this place to be quite interesting, because it is a huge«complex» made up of at least two separate areas that I saw. We first went into a side café, to the right of the main club entrance. They sold the good stuff there, along with a bar featuring sodas, juices, smoothies, chips, the regular munchie selection. It seemed a bit overpriced but I figure that comes with the experience. There was a room inside to enjoy your purchase, as well as outside patio enjoyment areas. There also seemed to be a hallway leading to a gift shop. The second room was the most impressive to me. We walked up to the main club area, which resembled any given night club here in the states. There was a dance floor in the middle, with two bars located at either side. There were couches and chairs randomly places, and stairs leading up to a second VIP level. However, in the back and below the VIP area, was 12 foot tall glass panels with all glass doors. There was an impressively sized«smoking room» back there, that seated maybe 50 people, with music playing and sports on several TVs. There was also slot machines, and we were very much inside the nightclub. We were there on a Friday night around 10, and although there was quite a few people sitting outside smoking and drinking, there was very few people in the actual club part.

The bulldog is alright. Obviously a tourist spot and I guess it’s one of those places you must visit just to say you’ve been. I’d rather meet locals though and that doesn’t really happen at this place
