I have been coming here for a number of years and I have never been disappointed. In fact, my most recent visit was the best ever. The beef was presented fresh before cooking to be selected at the table, a new experience in this place. Highly recommended and with the good selection of wines I will definitely return.

Pricey is what comes to my mind first. I don’t mind paying for a steak, but it has to be good. I’ve had an average steak here before so I wasn’t going to take another chance. We came in on a Sunday night with a party of about 10 and there was no one in the restaurant. Uh, awkward! This time I went with the swordfish and it was actually really good. The fish tasted pretty fresh and you can’t go wrong with their veg sides. Other people of my party did have steaks and liked them. Hubz got the spareribs. I thought it was mediocre but he enjoyed it. Service was just ok but you can’t really count on better in Amsterdam.

Easily the worst dining experience I’ve had in Europe; maybe ever. The man on the street lured us in with promises of specials advertised out front and a free first round of drinks. When we got inside, our waitress put an entirely different, much pricier menu in front of us. Where were the specials the doorman had showed us? We had to ask and were given two different menus — apparently three restaurants are connected and you can order from any of the menus? The ribs were the worst I’ve ever had in my life; dry, chewy, and barely edible. Our waitress brought us one plate of fries for the two entrees we ordered. When I asked for more, she charged us for additional fries. When we got our final bill, she had also had charged us for every drink we ordered. What happened to the first free round promised by the door guy? I asked, to which she replied that my dinner special didn’t come with a free drink. She reluctantly took one drink off the bill, leaving the others, making me feel cheap for asking what was offered at the door. Terrible service. Worst scam and most awful food ever. Avoid this place at all costs! I wish I could give it zero stars.

Is it possible to rate Zero(0) zed? How can you combine drastically poor service with a 50 euro steak? Take your business elsewhere, and avoid having the rude staff offend you or your guests.

It was good but somewhat pricey and more geared toward the«business travel expense report» rather than the casual diner.

I’m very happy that i DIDN’T read the other rev’s before i walked in! .I’m a Dutch girl, living in the center of Amsterdam: i don’t like the«Leidseplein» I really don’t like the feel, the tourists, the drunk tourists and the flashing lights around that square… but, i was there with a guest that really wanted all that. All fine with me ;-) We were seated by a very friendly guy with orange glasses. Than our waitress checked on us a few times and wanted to know if we wanted more spareribs. Why? Well i orderd spareribs, and didnt know it was«all you can eat»… i’m not a big eater, hahaha! So, the restaurant had a good deal with me! Also the maitre d’restaurant asked me if we were happy and perhaps wanted more(tap) water or spareribs. I won’t come back for the spareribs, but the rib-eye my guest had looked amazing and tasted great. Really great. The staff: very friendly and welcoming. The side orders: asparagus was very nice, the green beans with garlic tomatoes were crispy, flavored and very tasty. The french fries are not a very small portion, read: pretty big. The drinks: The wine list looked pretty good, but this time we skipped the %drinks. The coffee was very good. I asked for the check, it was € 56, if you don’t count the drinks. We also wanted water, they offered us tap water or bottled water. This We couldn’t finish the meat, vegetables or french fries. This is a place where i would send people that want lots of food for a good price.(a good chunk of beef for € 24 and all you can eat spareribs for € 18) Nope! I’m not disappointed at all!

As soon as we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with a disdainful frown and a completely disingenuous«May I help you?». When we asked for a table, he(the maitre d’ with the orange glasses) waved towards the corner and then proceeded to ignore us for the next 15 minutes. When we were finally seated we were underwhelmed by the food. OK, but nothing special, and expensive to boot. Too much snooty attitude for a steakhouse in the heart of the touristy Leidesplein, next door to a Burger King!

I am going to rate this as the best steak house in the world. The steak didn’t need a knife it just melted. Can’t wait to get back there.

This restaurant was a very good choice. The open kitchen is an eye catcher and allows a peak on the great steaks they served. We also had spare rips(all you can eat)! They were excellent. Staff is friendly and quick. Modern interior, but yet still warm and cosy. We had a great evening.
