2 Free drinks &2 Menus! Was in Amsterdam for a Hen Party(Yes, men on a Hen party is a done thing now) and we whjere approached by a guy in the street, touting for our custom. He promised us 2 free drinks. We where happy to oblige. I read the reviews of other Unilocalers and would agree with them. The good: The Food was grand, with portion sizes etc being good. I had the chicken wings to start and the Burrito for my main. The Bad: The service was pretty awful. Plenty of men running about doing very little. Firstly we where presented with 2 menus, one more expensive than the other(the waiter told us this). We waited an absolute age for our mains, the waiter did provide us with complimentary garlic breads & nachos to tide us over. The last gripe was the bill — given we where a group of hens(12 people in our party) we checked over the bill and had seen we had been over charged by € 14. Check your bill, the waiter apologised and removed the charges. There are probably better places around to eat, than here, dont be lured in like we where.

I would have given these guys two stars if the waiter hadn’t been so willing to fulfill my requests. I was looking for mexican food and these guys off leidseplein are a combination of argentinian, mexican and italian. I had enchiladas, normally on their menu as beef or chicken. I asked if I could have one of each and they complied. The meal came with a simple green salad. The waiter apparently forgot to bring the oil and vinegar but did so later. Initially, to start things off I asked if their best bartender was on because I was wanting a margarita. The waiter assured me that I would get the best they could make. It was a fail. It was watery, sugary and no hint of tequila. I mentioned the lack of tequila to the waiter who then took my drink and brought it back reeking of tequila. It wasn’t so tasty but it definitely had tequila in it. Next I asked what kind of rice came with the meal, spanish, yellow or white to which the waiter replied well it depends on what chef is on. To which I replied ah so the menu changes when a different chef is on, eh? The beans were red beans, not black beans or refried beans. The rice was somewhat dry white rice. I then asked if they had any hot sauces like tabasco or habanero to which the waiter replied no but he could ask the chef for some of the hot sauce that they use to prepare the meals with. He brought me a small ramekin of definitely spicy hot sauce that I spooned all over my food. So now I had a decent meal. The hot sauce made all the difference. The server was good. He was friendly and willing to please. The ambiance was definitely mexican. It was a good experience, not great. I’ve definitely had better but I give them points for trying but again I’d have to subtract some for the lack of dessert on the menu!

First of all, very friendly staff that wants your business… I always appreciate that, as many dutch rest staff act like they are doing you a favor taking your money. Major points there. The service was very prompt, friendly and orders filled accurately which is impressive considering the busy atmosphere. I had the Nachos Mexicano and Fajitas Chicano. Both were delicious and the fajitas definitely best I’ve had in Amsterdam! The portions are huge so I was gladly given a my leftovers in a doggie bag to take home, enough for filling me up the next day. Shrimps were huge with a nice selection of sour cream, guacamole and cheese. This is a dont miss restaurant in the Leidseplein!

I had good service & eats @ this place. No stuck up behavior. Food sufficient. Long time to wait, but much better service than Bo cinq. Pretty touristy, but extremely helpful and friendly staff.

Absolutely horrible, we stopped in and had ordered before I got wifi and could read the reviews. Out of the 3 dishes they were all horrible. I would rather get mcdonalds

Sorry guys but what we had was crap… Nachos were minimal and not very good, and the pizza wasn’t any better. The cheese had a strange taste to it. Not returning — ever. It sucked dude…

Very poor service, annoying waiters and the food is very average. Not a place to go for a relaxing evening. Avoid going there!!! We went to watch a World Cup match there and they were pushing us to pay during the game each time we ordered. Which took a lot of time as they were unorganised. They brought the wrong bill for us, told us we can’t pay by card, took chairs away without asking as some people from our group were out smoking, took one of our tables at the same time cause they needed it for someone else. And the list goes on! I would t recommend it to anyone!!!

Quite possibly the worst restaurant experience I’ve EVER had in my entire life. You know when you’re watching«Kitchen Nightmares» in disbelief, thinking there is no way a business can really be that dysfunctional? Well, this place is exactly that, and more! As is the case with everybody that has possibly consumed a «meal» here, we were lured in by the overly enthusiastic owner. As an Amsterdam resident, I actively try to avoid this street but strolling through the city with a few tourist friends in the rain forced me to give in and try. Our initial welcome was wonderful, space was cleared for our larger than average party of 10, however soon after everything went downhill. In order to not have to write a whole essay on everything that is wrong with this place, here’s a quick rundown: * Ordered drinks were forgotten. * Special(vegetarian) requests were ignored. * Ordered meals were ignored. * Upon requesting the ignored orders, the waitress gave an attitude and was replaced with a totally different person(by the owner, looking on from a distance). * Obviously, this new waitress had no prior knowledge of everything ordered and not delivered to our table. * When mentioning all of the above to the owner prior to paying the bill, he offered a round of alcohol(mind you, we were there with three children) to make up for it. * The bill included everything ordered that never made it to our table. If I could give it no stars, that would be my preferred rating.

Our first night in Amsterdam, we had trouble deciding what to eat. Every restaurant seemed to have someone outside asking you to come in and eat. One of us being a vegetarian, we decided on Mexican for the vegetarian fajitas. The inside was quite dark and the cleanliness wasn’t their forte. The restaurant was very big and very empty. We were sat next to a broken window and I was afraid of what the food had in store for us. When we got the food, it was actually nice and seemed authentic. It was so copious though that afterwards it became hard to digest. The service was very nice. A bit slow, but that’s all I can reproach. All in all, it’s OK for tourists. I would just suggest that they reconsider their cleaning rituals and pay attention to details like broken window panes, difficult swinging doors and aging dirty scotch tape residues on the walls and windows to help attract clientele.

This place is terrible!!! We were lured in by the friendly guy who said that the first round of booze was on the house. The food is way over priced and not good, at all. Our waitress had a terrible attitude. She went and complained to her boss(and owner of the place, i think. That guy was an a**hole, by the way), for some reason, that not all of us had ordered food. He then came over and said to us that we were offered a free round of booze because they assumed that we were all going to order food. Well if we would’ve known that then we wouldn’t have eaten there. So yeah, STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE!

Its interesting that this place is listed as a steakhouse as it is currently selling itself as a Mexican/steakhouse. We went here primarily for Mexican but its safe to say that the Dutch do Mexican just like the Brits do Mexican — not very well. We were lured in though by the enthusiastic guy on the door. The eating area is massive and as it was mid afternoon it was mostly empty. We sat at three tables before we decided which we preferred! After perusing the menu the waitress came to take our order. We were on to the second person when she decided she may need an pad and pen to take notes! Two of the girls ordered cocktails, and although these took forever to make both gave positive feedback. Unfortunately, when they ordered again they were made by someone else and were virtually undrinkable(for us girls to leave cocktails I think that says it all!) The menu had many of the Mexican dishes listed as starters. However, we were informed that the fajitas on the main menu would be big enough for two. Myself and a friend decided to share the mixed fajitas(chicken, beef and prawn) and get a side of nachos, but to be honest we both felt we could have eaten one to ourselves! Unfortunately, the three meats were mixed together which was a little strange, maybe a Mexican take on surf and turf! The quality of the meat was also a little dubious. We were also only given 5 wraps(an odd number never works well when sharing) so we had to order extra. We were given a side of rice and beans with this that didn’t really seem to work. We both agreed we would have preferred more peppers and sauces to add to the wraps. The other girls ordered enchiladas and were reasonably happy with these. We were a little surprised to see we had been charged 2 euro for the extra wraps but seeing as they forgot to add one cocktail to the bill we felt there was karma at work. On leaving the restaurant we noticed the specials board which displayed items such as ribs which some of the girls would have preferred. Its a shame this wasn’t advertised or mentioned inside the restaurant. Overall, this seems like quite a touristy restaurant and the quality of the food didn’t live up to the hefty price tags.
