NJOY

Two lovely cocktails outside thanks to Lillian’s generosity — and they are absolutely FABULOUS! My wife had a Thunderball because she loves the Last Word and Lillian steered her in the right direction. I enjoyed a Mr. President with Appleton Estate 12 year old rum. Spirit forward, delicious. Reminiscent of the Rum Old Fashion at The Grange in Sacramento. I’m looking forward to coming back and spending some quality time here — appropriately dressed, of course.

Hidden in the middle of the touristic chaos, Njoy is a very nice lounge cocktail bar.
To enter, you have to ring a bell and wait for someone to open the door for you: you are the guests in here! (but don’t make any mistake, you will still be presented with a bill at the end!)
Then either you sit at the ground level, or you go downstairs — the latter is more cosy in my opinion. It’s a typical lounge atmosphere with comfy bench seats, dimmed lights, beautiful flowers. Nice.
The menu is super extensive, seriously, you have to find something you’ll like. It’s organized in a bit of a weird way and it always takes a bit of time to go through it to make a choice. Ask the waiters to help you, they know what they’re serving quite well! Or just go for the BEST.COCKTAIL.IN.THE.WORLD (drum roll please): THE LEMON MERENGUE! Seriously, this cocktail (which isn’t on the menu anymore, but they’ll do it anyway) is to die for! It is always quite a good cocktail but at Njoy they take it to a totally different level. Trust me. Just order it. And then thank me :)
They also have snacks, but I’ve never tried those.
In conclusion: nice atmosphere, nice drinks, nice waiters, … The only problem with this place is that it is quite pricey… :s!!!

A gem in the middle of tourist hell, and one of the few places in Holland where cocktail culture thrives. I’ve been here half a dozen times in the last two years and have never been disappointed. Fine selection of top shelf product and bartenders who can sling it.
Their cocktail menu is extensive and delicious, but don’t let that discourage you from ordering a proper martini; it’s the only place in A’dam, R’dam, Utrecht or den Haag i’ve found that can make one.
Also, their music selection is top notch. Actually, I really wish I had their playlist, so if anyone from Njoy reads this…

Nice mellow and laid back cocktail bar, a place to go with a friend for a cocktail and some privacy, place is really small inside with 5 or 6 tables but it’s good for a weekday

Would be 5 stars except for the price, although I may just be stingy (each of my drinks was € 12). The bartenders were amazingly conversational and polite. The cocktails were extraordinary! The cocktails are separated by «personality» on the menu. I had two from the dreamers sections. I had a C&S Delight and another fruity vodka drink that I can’t remember the name of and they were both top notch. The bartender definitely knew what he was doing and made effort to make sure we enjoyed our beverages. I definitely recommend this place if you enjoy trying new things and a good laugh.
