La Estancia

Mediocre food & a limited wine selection in a great location. La Estancia isn’t bad, but it’s not worth a return trip.

Great steak — tasty and tender. Ordered the shrimp as an appetizer — really good. Can order as a meal — that is with salad and side; or single and get other sides. Also can get a sauce. A little more expensive than others in the area. Salad could be better — was mostly iceberg. Service was good.

Our friends recommended the Argentinian food in Amsterdam, so we chose this one randomly because it looked nice from the outside. The inside was equally decorated and warm. The tables were a bit snug but comfortable. The service was very friendly and genuine. The washrooms (1 toilet each) were tiny and were located on the second floor up a very steep flight of stairs that I do not recommend attempting if you’ve imbibed. The food was pretty good but a little pricey so we decided, instead of going back to this restaurant, to try different places for dinner during our stay. We really are spoiled here with our Canadian beef, so best to go to any of these steak places (and there are a lot of them) with no expectations.

Überraschend gute Spareribs, auch das chicken Schnitzel war perfekt. Atmosphärisch nicht so der Hammer. Kann man machen, muss Mann aber nicht ;-)
