Since Gauchos is so ubiquitous around Amsterdam I didn’t want to go here, but I had a friend who wanted to try it. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the steak I had. I wouldn’t go so far to say it was anything like the steaks I had in Argentina, but it was a very well cooked piece of meat and a good sized portion. I also had a pretty flavorless caprese salad on my visit here, so I would suggest you stick with meat if you’re eating at Gaucho’s. The service was fine and the atmosphere was standard.

Want a genuine Argentinian steak cooked to perfection? This is the place.
Classy surroundings with exceptional service.
As they state, the steaks are flame grilled and turned only once during grilling. As has been done for generations. Thick and juicy with very little fat, if any. Choice of many cuts, look at the menu on their webpage.
We both had rump steak, about 5 cm thick, medium rare. Wow. I can still taste it.
Worth a trip because you will go back. I did after 5 years and it hasn’t changed.

Wow! The steaks were delicious, tasty & juicy! Desert was scrumptious I had’Dulce Leche’, a must try!
To top it up the service was fantastic! Service with a smile & laugh. Definitely going back there again

It’s been a few years since I have been here, but I do remember an empanda appeitzer that was to die for. Ok selection of spirits for Amsterdam, as well. We eat here every time we visit.

This place is fun always for the group that we go with but other then that I think the food is just not that good. Everyone raves about Argentinian Steak. I just do not get it. Every time I eat here my steak is usually really tough and I find pieces of gristle in the steak. This makes it not one of my favorite meals in Amsterdam but we are forced to go here every year by the group.
The atmosphere is fun here but I would say that the food is lacking in the quality that I have come to expect when ordering steak.
