Very good food. Liked ambience. Owner also provided wifi access. Strongly recommended.

Took forever to get a seat, we had to keep going inside and making sure they hadn’t forgotten about us because we would see people leave and we were still waiting. There isn’t much room inside to wait and it was hot as hell in there. We amused ourselves watching in the side window of the«Chinese massage» place across the street. We saw some old dude come down the stairs with a big grin on his face. We also checked out the mini market a few doors down. It was an eternity of waiting. Once we were seated the food was very good though.

I’ve been to Memories of India twice now and both time have been great. The flavor of the food and the attitude of the staff were the highlights. The first time was a groupon with a large amount of courses and only a few were so so but those were meat courses which I didn’t like the texture of. This last time we ordered vegetarian courses and everything was above par. The only complaint I had was the speed of service this time. It took much longer than expected for the amount of food that was ordered. I will surely make another trip despite this.

Though the outside of this restaurant looks old, the interior is really pretty. Food here is pretty good and quite authentic, though the service is super slow. Food: 4⁄5 Tasty Indian food and the curries are all so delicious. The mango lassi is also quite good! Since they serve the dishes in the center and the rice is communal, it is easy to eat family style and share with the rest of your party. Service:2/5 Reservations can be made and recommended as this place can get crowded. However, service was extremely slow. It took 15 minutes before they handed us menus, and we didn’t get our food until almost 1 hour after we ordered. It was difficult to find a waiter and when we did, he would tell us that he would get back to us(and he did 15 minutes later). Atmosphere:3/5 The interior is very nicely decorated and it is good for groups. Since the service is so slow, you are also free to sit and really enjoy your meal. Value:3/5 The portions are very reasonable and should be eaten with rice(otherwise you won’t be full).

Best Indian and best service in Amsterdam. Great meal for the price, cheapish wine and seriously attentive staff. We go at least once per month. Tikki Masala is best ever, great house rice, tandoori and naan. My husband is gluten free and they use gram flour in many of their dishes, so even better. We finish it all every time we go.
