Great local-feeling café right around Rembrandtplein. Skip the touristy places on the main square and come here for a local beer and cheap but tasty sandwich or snack.

Wow! What a gem in a super touristy spot. I had no idea this was here until someone took us there. Very authentic and small with great service. The smiling faces are refreshing anywhere you go and after an afternoon of networking, it was just the perfect spot to settle for a couple hours for some wine, cheese, and meatballs. I know this is a big deal at some places, but the server/bartender did not hesitate to give me a glass of tap water after we had already ordered wine. Just overall it was a nice place that I hope stays as authentic as it currently is.

Great bartender who was very nice on a terribly rainy day. He had a hell of a pompadour too. Coffee was as tasty as European style coffee ever is :-$. The beer selection is good. Super cozy.

Best day to come is on Sundays when there is live music. It is a really cosy place with few tourists and few locals. We had some drinks and stayed for three hours. So at some point we had to get some food too. We ordered cheese which came with mustard and a kind of sugar sirup. I am not into cheese but my friends liked it. I had some dates with bacon and they were good. Staff is friendly and relaxed. On a regular day it is not much different from any other brown café but still a nice place to go if you are in this area(Waterloopleinmarkt for example).

This place is a little secret cozy spot just off the Rembrandtplein. While everything is swarming with tourists and overpriced, Langereis is a small brown bar with time-warped decorations, cheap drinks, and super friendly staff who will let me order in my horrible Dutch, and speak Dutch back :) Great for a post work, slow-down drink.

For some reason I come here very often. It could be because the location is very convenient and they have always have a nice beer on draft. Truth is the staff is consistently great which unfortunately is rare in Amsterdam. This gives the place a very welcome and relaxed vibe. This is emphasized by the«living room» style of the place. All in all the perfect place to have a beer with one of your best friends.

Cozy spot by bridge but don’t expect free hot water refill because they will charge full tea price. Lots of magazines to read.
