If you are not 21 anymore and not into coffeeshops nor wat to be picked up, I suggest you leave the Rembrandt plein and turn into Utrechtsestraat. Once a crime ridden neglected part of town, this street, in the eastern part of the canal district, is now busteling with designer bouiques, café s annd restaurants. Brug 34 is on the corner of the Herengracht and has gorgeous views on two sides. The place is tiny, but does not feel cramped because of the huge windows and mirror. It is neither a tourist trap nor the snootiness of some Heregracht establishments. This is just. a great, very friendly place for breakfast, lunch and drnks. Dutch snacks like tosti (grilled Cheese sandwich) gehaktballetjes (meat balls) and borrelnootjes, mixed nuts, with an excellent selection of wines. I will be back, baby!

Wherever I go, I’m always searching for the perfect coffee house. I loved Brug 34 and made a point to drag my siblings there the next day even though it was well out of our way. Their latte was delicious — smooth and rich and not acidic. Even though the café itself is small, it’s a lovely space with a lot of natural light, high ceilings, and a huge mirror that makes the place feel much bigger

If you can get a seat by the window and you have an afternoon to spare, make this your spot for that afternoon. The menu is not super long, but it’s diverse enough to keep your palette interested. The staff of one while I was there was very patient and friendly. High ceilings and a clean, minimal, aesthetic inside. The curry chicken sandwich I had was very tasty.
The location is close to a popular area of tourism and business so the street traffic you can watch as you munch and drink will keep you entertained.

Brookline, MA
HIp, low-​key coffee bar by morning, lunch bar by day, and bar bar by night. The music, when I was there, was down-​beat and lounge-​y, the food delicious, and the atmosphere conducive to thinking, working, talking, or just plain relaxing. Hope a good review helps Brug 34 be even more successful … but not so successful that it becomes something else. Wonderful place.
