Café Flamingo

I am totally a fan of Flamingo. It is most likely my favorite bar in the area. It gets quite busy on weekends, like all the bars in the street, but it is also fun on a weekday. You can come in for a borrel (after work drink), or pre-​dinner drink, or post-​dinner drink… And you can also be sneaky during the day, and order yourself a Chocomel with Licor 43, and you will immediately feel the warmth in the cold winter days: D Like all hip bars in de Pijp, Flamingo has a good offer on local beers. The crowd is fun, and the staff is friendly 95% of the time (but anyone can have a day off).
In the warmer days, you can sit on their terrace and soak up the sun, or enjoy the warm evening with your friends while sipping on a beverage of your choice and people watching.

One of my favourite little bars in Amsterdam. Hands down. Bar (err.) none. It’s the non-​local, local. Close enough!
They have a small but nice little selection of gin, which for me, an avid gin drinker is very important. And it was here, that I first tasted the delicious Monkey 47, which the kids behind the counter serve up in an amazing (almost bowl like) glass. Topped off with some fever-​tree tonic, lemon and fresh cracked pepper, it’s divine. Absolutely divine!
I also know the kids here have a great selection of beer but as a non beer drinker, I’ll take everyone else’s word for it.
Sadly, I’ve also not sampled any of their eats in this little place. But this is hardly the reason people come here. Come sundown, the little bar is moody and has a great vibe. It also helps that they play some killer tunes to add to the atmosphere!
Compared to a few other bars in the neighbourhood (walking distance I mean), I think this place is right up there with being the best!
Good drinks, good tunes, good prices and killer tunes. Couldn’t possibly ask for more with the non-​local, local, right?

Great casual place to get drinks in de pijp. Just don’t go Monday — Saturday around 5pm or else you’ll have to deal with the cuyp market being broken down for the day (if your sitting outside). It’s centrally located along the market.
It’s also a great place to people watch!

Flamingo is a nice café located next to to Albert Kuyp market. It is a great place to have drinks in the weekend or just whenever the sun is out. The terrace is always crowded in summer and in the evenings it is cosy inside. The look and style of this café makes me think of my favourite cafes in Paris so maybe that’s one of the reasons for the 4 stars haha.
No I do just like this place. It’s cool and just a fun place. I think the staff is mostly fine and friendly and well, its just okay :) Its very crowded during to weekends but in a cool way. When you ride by with your bike and see all those peoples standing there, chatting and having drinks you just want to join them. The Pijp at its best!

This is a cute little place along Albert Cuyp, the famous Amsterdam street market. It was a hot spot in the De Pijp neighborhood with a lot of pretty boys and girls and a large drink menu that included four beers on tap. The mood on Friday night was festive with a lot of drinking and just having fun. It was interesting to see the place slowly get crowded at the close of the market and to watch the city workers so efficiently clean the street as if it were a choreographed ballet.
