Certainly a solid review for Bakken met Passie. Every time I went there when I lived in the neighborhood I have left happy. There was even a few times were a bunch of bunch of little tarts to bring into my office, for my birthday for example. Spreading the smiles outside of this bakery. I can’t even recall something which didn’t taste good, if not great. It’s certainly worth the trip just to box up some of the small treats and take them around to your friends and family. There are so many varieties that everyone could something different. It’s a fun little way to spread some joy around the city.

A perfect little bakery. Delicious cappuccino to match the awesome Apple torte. Tried to return for breakfast this morning but unfortunately closed Sunday. Ideal location near the Albert open market. Only giving four stars because my experience was so limited but every plate going by to other tables looked scrumptious. Will definitely be going back.

Everything looks so pretty! Really i felt like a child in a toystore. Or a dog thats waiting for his food. I havent taste everything, although if the opportunity was there i Will never ever refuse it ;). I like baked goods, funny enough they have a lot to choose in that category. Good i have tried the Apple pie, carrot cake and because i was hungry, a cheese croissant aswell. About the croissant, nothing to complain. Perfect, altough a little fat, but hè whatever its cheesy croissant what else did i expect! The carrot cake was okay, it was a little dry and not as smooth as Iam used to a carrot cake. I also like more extra taste, as in walnuts or raisins. I missed something in the carrot cake. The Apple pie was okay aswel. It tasted like it was little undercooked. Maybe its just me, and is this a taste concern. So just go there and taste for yourself! I Will definitly go back to do Some more tasting! ^^

This is a good place to get a pastry, especially if you are at the Albert Cuyp Market. The chocolate torte is the best item I’ve had at this establishment. The other baked goods we’ve had were solid as well. This is also a great place to take friends or have a coffee and a pastry. The prices are standard for Amsterdam and the hours are also typical of the city, so don’t try to stroll in on a Sunday or in the evening.

Loved the sandwich of fresh mozzarella and pesto. Delicious Croissants and Carrot cake. Scrumptious layout, everything on display. On our last day in Amsterdam, we decided to buy croissants for our train ride. [1.70e] I asked for jam on one of them for my daughter, thinking it’s a lil spread. If there was a charge it would be minimal. Well… I was told 1.90e for jam that’s on top of the 1.70e croissant price. BIZARRE. JUSTBIZARRE. We declined. I was actually insulted. Anyway… Delicious bakery, just needs customer service training.

A huge selection of local and regional bread/pastry/dessert items. Some items are organic too, but everything appeared to be of very high quality. If you’re looking to grab lunch, they’ll also make you a sandwich with their fresh bread. Staff was frenziedly, and the interior ambiance was warm.

My favorite bakery in the city! this is going to be a short review because basically all you need to know is that everything is delicious! :) Bakken met Passie is a small bakery and tea room in De Pijp. You can buy all items to go, or have them along with a cup of coffee/tea in the café next door. The café in itself is nothing special, but service is efficient and nice, and you generally get a little piece of tasty homemade cake with your beverage :) The also serve lunch, a weekly soup and broodje, made out of delicious bread of course! What on the other hand IS special here, are all the pastries! I’m a big consumer of their croissants, simply the best I’ve had in Amsterdam so far… and their ham and cheese croissants? mmmmm such deliciousness is unbelievable! Try their savory muffins! a muffin with pesto, dried tomato, cheese, very, very nice! Oh and their lemon cake, what can I say about their lemon cake?!? you’ve got to try it! simply put, everything is delicious, I’ve never been disappointed. it’s pricey, yes, true. but delicious has a prize…

I love this bakery! It’s not the best bakery I’ve ever been to, but it’s one of the best in Amsterdam and always quite busy! I’ve had some very nice bread from here!

Pastries get 5 stars but service gets 2 stars. So, unfortunately, Bakken met Passie gets 3 stars. The display and décor of the bakery literally draws passerbys through the door to stand in awe at the well-made delicious pastries, macarons, breads and cakes that adorn the walls. The almond croissant almost nudged out my #1 at Boulange in SF and I never thought I’d say that. Flaky and loaded with sliced almonds and almond custard, but not so sweet that your tooth hurts. It could have used a bit more oomf in the flavor department, but it was almost the most delicious almond croissant I’ve had. However, the service was terrible enough to bring down the stars. I’m not sure if she was the manager or owner, but one of the women working there was impatient, rude and even bumped into a customer intentionally. I was taking pictures of the beautiful pastries for my own pleasure and she came over and scolded me for doing so. I stopped and said sorry and asked if I should delete them, but she just ignored me and acted like I didn’t exist. I then saw another customer get ready to take a picture, and this woman actually went over and shoved her with her shoulder as she passed by. I couldn’t believe what I saw. I’m glad I don’t live near this bakery, so I wouldn’t have to wage an internal war in my head: «I love those croissants… but that woman is a _…but those croissants…»

I eat way too many ham and cheese croissants from this bakery… Delicious. Been here a number of times for the croissants but also for other baked goods. Plenty of choices here for pastries, bread and other goodies. They serve lunch as well. There is a good selection of sandwiches and the seating area is comfortable.

Heart Attack Shmeart Attack… Just gimme some of that god damn deeeeelicious chocoladetaart! You know the blissful feeling when your tongue makes first contact with that dark brown smeared fork with a more-than-a-mouthful serving of sinful chocolate cake? Once the taste sensations reach the pleasure nodes of your brain and your mind catches up with your body, you realize that you are shyfully covering you mouth making noises otherwise heard in bed when the curtains are closed and the smell of lust fills the air. Before you know it, your glutinous mind has unconsciously taken your fork to penetrate the exposed edge of the chocolate cake for another portion of paradise. Fast forward four minutes and thirty-two seconds and after awakening from your chocolate induced brownout, you come to the shocking realization that a little more than half of the chocolate cake has been devoured… by you! While your arteries are upset by the increase in vein blockage, you manage to secretly produce a slightly menacing grimace telling the health-angel on your right shoulder to shut the F up and let you enjoy this moment. Sound familiar? No? Well, go to Bakken, get the chocolade taart, and you’ll see what I’m talking about. All the other stuff here, like spelt, olive ciabatta, baguettes, blah blah blah are great too, but wauw… That c-taart rocks my face OFF! WOOH! The people are super nice and when you walk in they’ll help you get all your shizzle and pack it up for you. It’s a little pricey, but hey… it’s like getting thai massage; you want a happy ending, you pay more… Just sayin. Viva chocolade taart! D

This place has the best scones with cream and jam ever. I am scared to write this review because they run out often because they are so popular so I may be hurting myself by letting others know how good it is :) Their breads are also very good. This place is not cheap, but it is pretty great.

the way they present their beautiful breads and pastries is what caught my eye and made me stop in. they have the best sourdough bread here(but you pay the price, 6euros)! also the scones and croissants are delicious. let’s just say everything is delicious. The staff that works there are also very friendly EXCEPT for one woman… hehe. i have no idea what her name is but she is the«older» blond woman that works there. everyone else is «younger». maybe this woman is the manager? anyways…one time i was in there with my dogs and i just assumed it would be ok to bring them in since most other food establishments of this level allow dogs. BUT oh no… she yelled at me from behind the counter, really the other end of the store in dutch. i didn’t understand her and she yelled at me again & i realized she was telling me dogs are not allowed. i can definitely respect that but come on… do you need to scream it at me from across the bakery??? a little manners would have been nice towards a customer don’t ya think!!! good thing their food is so amazing or else i would not be coming back. so basically whenever i go in there i try not to interact with her :)
