Don’t judge me but I have a confession to make. I stopped at this stand at least 5 different times(in 4 days!) and got multiple things each time. At first I was hesitant to get something from a street food vendor, but I am glad we said, «Ah, what the heck! Let’s get one!» The first time I met Olie(this is what I call my new sweetheart) it was a cold night in the Dam and we were looking for something to warm up. What’s this? FRIEDDOUGH? POWDEREDSUGAR?! Ummm, 2 please! Super cheap, already made, sweet, delicious and a perfect snack/dessert after hours of walking around. The stans are all over town. They have a TON of olliebollen stacked up behind a clear plastic case. The traditional one goes like this: 1) Nice lady in the cart grabs a ball. 2) Tosses powdered sugar on it. 3) Throws it in a bag. 4) Takes your money 5) Hands it to you. Ok it isn’t rocket science but mannnn I swear something illegal(possibly legal in Amsterdam) goes into these things! They are SO addicting! If you want to kick it up a notch get one of the ones that have been cut in half and stuffed with a delicious custard. These were freezing from the cold air, but SOOO good! Even had a leftover one that I had the next morning and even though it was a little soggy it was amazing(don’t judge me.) As good as the doughnuts were there was something else that called our attention during visit four. A chocolate covered waffle. Sure, why not. Let’s get one! WHOA!!! First of all, the chocolate was SOGOOD. It was a thick crunch coat over the fluffy waffle. This didn’t make it to the hotel for obvious reasons. IF you come across any of these stands(and you will!) make sure you grab a treat(or a few).

There are many stands in AMS during the holidays, this one is my favorite. Mostly because it was the first time I had Oliebollen. I know the holidays are coming when I see this parked in Heinekenplein. NOMS!
