These were quite tasty! On a recent visit to Amsterdam I wanted to pick up some macarons, and I found this place simply by Googling. The reviews looked okay so I got on a bike taxi and went there. We arrived right before closing(we barely made it and would not have made it on foot) so they didn’t have much of an assortment left. Nevertheless, I choose a 25 pack and as I was trying to decide which flavors to try, the male behind the register(the owner?) suggested I try one of each, for starters. Then I asked for extras of the salted caramel, coconut, mango, and a few others, to round out my twenty-five pack. The macarons that we got to sample were delicious, and I couldn’t wait until I got home so that I could eat my little cookies. Most flavors were very good. They had more of a grainy taste than I’m used to, and the nutty flavor wasn’t too overpowering at all. However, there were definitely flavors I didn’t care for(red hot candy flavor, for example), and one macaron had a hard filling, which was unfortunate. But overall, tasty macarons, and for a good price. Perhaps the next time I’m there I’ll stop in, because a few of their flavors(green tea, salted caramel, coconut) are very nice! Plus their packaging was great, the staff was very friendly, and it was an overall pleasant experience buying the macarons. Someday I hope to return!

The macaroons were very good. Some unique flavors. The limoncello which is specially made from a local drink was interesting and had to try the Stroopwafel. Love the uniqueness in flavors for the region. Also, not stuffy at all. What I think really put it over the top was the service. He let us have a sample of a couple before buying. Got two extra that we got to try. Also like the clever things in the windows related to their flavors, etc. Saw the comparisons to Laduree’ below, and that’s not totally fair, as macaroons are french, so they should do it better, but it’s a great dessert. Very happy with my choice here.

These macaroons are really yummy!!! So many to choose from!!! The Maduche, Poptasi’s own and unique version is probably my favorite but the salted caramel is really good as well. A crunchy shell followed by gooey interior as macaroons should be.

Allthough I m not much of a sweettooth these macarons are DELISH and not very expensive. And they re not for pussies, you can tell by poptasi s styling. They ve got awesome flavours like macademia, irish coffee, If you didn t know they sold pastry you d think it was a tattoo salon. Inside the store you feel like you re in Paris, with touch of Amsterdam.

Some flavors are really delicious, others are ok. I obviously have to compare it to Ladureé. I like Poptasi because they specialise in a product that is not so popular around the Netherlands yet. It does not, however, come close to the quality of Ladureé. I still finish all of the macaroons on the same day as I buy them: D

First of all, I lied, to myself mostly. Sort of. They were no gifts, well to me.(And there is no guilt!) Second of all, the person that manages to save them for a rainy day later in the week is not a saint. Clueless yes. Unworthy definitely. But thanks, I guess, for the warning on the box. I love Ladurée, but I love you too Poptasi, loads. But we shouldn’t meet up that often, really, we shouldn’t… Signed Betty McFatty

Super great macarons and certainly value for money. One euro a pop and your sugar fix will be solved. Oh, did I mention that they have outrageously fun, yummy, diverse flavors for macarons :)

Okay, so here’s the thing; I’ve seen these round shaped pastries on display at some pastry shops, coffee places and whatnot but they never looked very appealing to me. I always thought they looked kinda funky because of their bright colors. I don’t know about you, but I don’t usually stuff my face with bright red or poison green pastries. Anyway, I was at lunchroom today where they serve a mini macaron with your tea. This one being just a natural pastor color, I went for it and ate the cookie! I was amazed of it’s taste and immediately googled for a pastry shop that sells these heavenly macarons. The first site that pops up is that of , which is an awesome website, btw. I cycled over there and bought a box of 12 macarons. The front of the store has a very nice old fashioned look to it. Inside you hit the counter right away. The customer space is very narrow and you are greeted by a lot of different macaron cookies. Behind the counter there is a bigger space where the macarons are made(I presume). There are 30(!) different flavors you can choose from. From the ones I got, I liked the pistachio and the macadamia the most. They are not cheap at € 1, — a pop, but definitely worth it. I actually couldn’t stop eating them :( I’m awarding this pastry shop 5 stars because I can’t imagine anyone doing a better job at baking these cookies.

I’ve always wondered about the hype with Laduree in Paris. The macaroons are good but nothing special. In fact I counted myself out as a macaroon fan. Until we have Poptasi a chance. The flavours are inventive and they work. Really well. Every one we tried was amazing. They are expensive. No doubt. € 1.25 per individual, € 4 for four. But really, really good.
