The quality of the food is OK the service is slow, no wait very slow. We didn’t want to even ask for dessert. Would I come here again? No

I must admit that all food taste great. The problem was business practice. We went the restaurant twice and the first time the owner tried to overcharge us with incorrect bill. The second time again the owner tried to charge more because he thought his own handwriting «v» mean fish not vegetarian. He also charged 4.50 for a pot of tea which supposed to be either 3 or 4 euro. When we questioned he said it’s because they serve 2 cups. Totally ruin dining experience. I will never go bad.

Auf dem Rückweg zum Hotel durch die Albert Cuypstraat fehlte sowas wie Abendbrot. Verschiedenste Spielarten von asiatisch nebeneinander stehen zur Auswahl. Die Tische auf dem Bürgersteig sind aber trotz des schönen Wetters nicht richtig einladend, also suchen wir was aus, was gut aussieht und gehen rein. Freundliches und lustiges Personal konfrontiert uns mit der Tatsache, dass bis auf Heineken alles Bier aus ist. Eigentlich ist in A’dam immer irgendwas aus Also gut. Dazu erstmal verboten leckere Hühnchenspieße in Erdnusssoße, die den Heinecken-​Geschmack gut überdecken. Als Hauptgerichte hatten wir Garnelen in Kokossoße und irgendwas mit Federn. War lecker, heiss und scharf. Vor allem scharf. So muss das sein. Und dazu darf es dann sogar noch ein zweites Heineken sein, das angesichts dieses Kontrastes eine Alt-​Geschmacksnote entwickelt. Essenstechnisch war alles auf den Punkt, nichts war trocken und auch der Reis war herrlich klebrig, und doch wohldefiniert körnig. WLAN ging irgendwie nicht. Egal: Die Einparkversuche der Menschen vor dem Fenster und die verschiedensten Typen von Radlern, die da vorbeirollten, waren großes Kino. Ein Punkt Abzug für Lage und nix draussen und so. Ansonsten ein echter Wiederkommer. Für 60EUR zu zweit auch absolut ok im Preis

Maybe I just don’t like Indonesian food. I’m just not 100% sure. That’s why I’m giving it three stars when Puri deserves a two. First, there was only one waiter working, who a nice old man, which meant he took care of seven tables at once and was generally too busy. We waited ten minutes before we ordered. We ordered the beef and lamb special, which was 28.50 pp. The food took forever. The soup was interesting, mixed with chicken and a little bit of burnt rice and onions in a tasty broth. The special was composed of six dishes. A mixture of lamb, beef, shrimp and vegetables, they varied in sauce and some were on a skewer. The sauces were momentarily striking initially but quickly ended up being dull and too salty. I got tired of all the dishes and had to struggle to finish with the rice. Overall, it was not worth my money. Maybe it’s better with a single dish cost wise, but why would you want an entire meal with a dish composed of pieces of meat and a rather vulgar sauce?

Don’t even go near the Gado Gado, it’s most likely the worst thing I have ever tasted. The nice (but oh so slow service) did not make up for the food, so it’s a one star from me.
There used to be a Cambodia restaurant on the premises, I wish they would bring that back.
