Service at the bar .very disappointing. .sat for 12 min before bartender even approached me on my drink order. Place not even full… space is gorgeous, though. advertise, fish on rhe menu. But alas no fish item at, all. on the night i was there… yikes…i wish the service in seattle was good. It is hideous… i know eric bahn. Wish he hired servers worthy of this establishment. Great food and great space. bartender was completely aloof to customers needs

Seven Beef may have the best beef burgers on an artisan bun ever procured. Sit at the bar during happy hour and enjoy. Don’t forget to try the Cauliflower and cheese soup made with cougar gold.

Pretty spot. A ok food. Love what they’ve done with this space. It is absolutely stunning. Love the open kitchen, the lights, the bar area. Even the bathroom is stunning! They have different music playing in there. Think operatic! I also love chefs Eric’s other spots! Ambiance ~ amazing Food ~ 3 stars Service ~ a ok. We came earlier in the evening. They weren’t quite busy yet, few tables. Our bar tender seems cool. He however didn’t give us the steal menu. It was either the 7 courses of beef, or the pretty, rustic or burnt. Didn’t seem too beefy to us. Opted for a few items. Beef tacos ~ prettiest things ever. In this crispy rice cracker shell. It was quite tasty! Beef tartare ~ it has that pickle taste. Not the creamy refreshing tartare that I love and am used to. Again, I had a bite. Congee ~ this was not the congee you expect or have had before. It was like a mousse. Topped with a ton of things, rather fatty beef oil. I had a bite. Not a fan. The marrow ~ pretty plating. A ok. We discovered that there was a steak menu once another bartender arrived. He was explaining it to people next to us. Too bad we didn’t get to explore it before we oder! By now, we were ready to go. Our drinks were good. Wasn’t as attentive as you’d think for sitting at the bar. Perhaps it might be better doing the $ 40 seven course meal. But for now, the food was a ok. Not great. I liked one out of four dishes we had. Such a bummer! Guess I’ll continue frequenting his other restaurants.

Alright, let me start off by saying our party of 6 devoured items from their small plates/happy hour menu… Beef Tacos– HIGHLYRECOMMENDED. The spring roll wrapper(traditionally softened in warm water) is DEEPFRIED to make this amazingly airy taco shell to which shredded beef and some sort of aioli magic sauce is added. No salty/greasy fingers. Just a shell that dissolves in your mouth with beef inside. Burger– My second favorite. It was hard to see what was going on since the restaurant is pretty dark, but the patty and the carmelized onions on top made this yin yang pattern of dark… and darker– but the point being the carmelized onion wasn’t sloppy and dripping out on every bite. Springroll– There are 2 distinct features of this spring roll– the taste and the texture. If you don’t like sardines or really fishy fish, don’t try it. I have childhood memories of sardines, so I enjoyed the flavor of the sardines and the tomato sauce. I have to say I’m pretty neutral on this dish though. The thing that threw me off was the texture of the spring roll… The rice paper holding the sardines, while eating the sardines, felt like I was holding a limp dead fish while savagely eating the innards of the fish… There wasn’t anything crunchy/crispy/fresh to offset the squishiness of everything, so sorry if I ruined this dish for you. If it were like a lettuce wrap, or had some basil… I may have enjoyed it WAY more. Verdict: flavor– good, texture-not great. Oysters– Personally, I enjoy more of a vinegar/citrusy kick to hide the funky oyster after-taste, but the apple foam is pretty unique. Burnt Sweet Potato– Can’t go wrong with this. I could eat this all day. As a large party, we got things to share, not really personal steaks, so sorry I can’t really say anything about how amazeballs it is– but I bet it’s delicious. We did have a couple more plates; if I figure out what the names of them are, I will update my review.

I want to start off by saying that I don’t suggest coming here with a large group and don’t come hungry if you do end up coming with a large group. We arrived as a group of 8& were seated at 8:45pm. Placed our order half an hour later and then received our food at 10:05pm. We finally got our bill at 11:15pm and were out the door at 11:45pm. I get the concept and it is a beautiful space but for the amount of time you wait to eat and the food comes out underwhelming, I can’t justify returning. Maybe as a date night as a party of 2 but definitely not more than that. The upside, the brussel sprouts and french fries are good. Cons — they ran out of the burger and the steak is very charred, and it isn’t going to be anything new to what you’ve eaten around Seattle.

We ve been wanting to try this restaurant and happy we did tonight. We are regulars at its sister restaurant Ba Bar around the corner but we were a little intimidated with the look of this place– looks so fancy! Well im glad we decided to try their Happy Hour. The 2 dishes we tried were delicious! We had the oysters, the beef taco(2 tacos come with the order) and the beef congee. The tacos come in this airy crunchy shell in a pale white color with shredded beef and cilantro. Crispy first bite sweep me out of my feet, so flavorful! The congee was this airy white smooth texture with grassfed ground beef, tones of ginger and crunchy things that im not sure what they were but it was a bliss to eat. I cant wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

Am amazing experience. From the moment you walk in and smell the wood-fired oven you know you’re in for a great experience. The beef was excellent, the wine list and sommelier impressive, the service impeccable and the libations from the bar perfectly crafted. A real gem.

Amazing amazing amazing!!! We ordered the T-bone and lots of appetizers and starters between a group of us. The service was impeccable and the food was a unique take on all the usual sides. The burnt baked potato was a highlight, as was the burnt acorn squash with goat cheese. I would recommend this to anyone for a special meal. The prices were shockingly low for the quality of the food.

Beautiful venue on the outside and inside. I read about this place in Zagat about it being one of the top 10 new steak places in the country. Food: I can’t remember the exact name of the daily cut that I got, but it was similar to a filet and was 7 oz of goodness. For the quality of the cut and cook of the steak, the price was really reasonable($ 22 I think). Drinks: I came just in time for happy hour(5−7PM) and there were some nice selections to choose from for apps and drinks. I got the happy hour bourbon old fashioned and it didn’t disappoint. Ambiance: I came on a Monday evening and it was virtually dead in there, so I can’t say what it’s like during the busy nights. Service: The waitress really knew what she was talking about when it came to the steaks. She came by at the right times. Usually when a place is dead, the staff have a tendency to stop by your table every 2 mins. I’ll definitely be back again, and again, and again to try some other steaks. Next time though, I’ll call ahead to see which cuts of beef are on the menu for the night.

This is a beautiful venue. Very classy, clean, modern, simple. We started in the bar. Their cocktails were classy. Old-fashioned and stiff! But in a good way. The wait staff were courteous, food was out promptly and HOT! We did not do the tasting menu as one person in our group was vegetarian. We ordered a bunch of apps, veggie dishes and a few of their 48oz steaks. We also had a large group of 15 for a going away party. To the reviewer above who was disappointed that it was not a traditional Vietnamese beef tasting menu, she’s right. It felt more like an upscale modern steakhouse. I think it’s confusing that it’s a Vietnamese restaurant? I would have never known. BUT I was NOT disappointed. Probably because I wasn’t going there expecting a certain thing. This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten at all year and I am not new to the food scene. Uh-mazing. Oysters had this amazing apple cider foam, which sounds weird but it was really good. They have the MOST orgasmic frites. They were so perfectly crunchy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. We couldn’t get enough of those. The kale and the Brussels sprouts(yes, it’s «Brussels») were the most incredible I’ve ever had. Mashed potatoes were weird though. It looked like a big bowl of horseradish sauce but it was potatoes. I would suggest they make their whipped or puréed? potatoes with a bit of celeriac to enhance the flavor. Steak was good. Had GREAT flavor since it is wood-fired. Bone had nice char and was HUGE! It was a bit gristly but they couldn’t have cooked it more perfect. Salmon was salmon. chicken was chicken. Nothing special but the presentation on those two dishes were beautiful. Dessert menu was terribly lacking but we ordered the lemon pound cake with huckleberries and whipped cream. It was okay. Better than Red Cow. If you like places like The Walrus and the Carpenter or Rock Creek in Fremont, you’ve found your new steakhouse on Cherry Hill!

It’s my birthday! Tried this new spot today to see what all this fanciness was about. Turns out it was all hype. This place was a joke to me. You pull up and there is valet parking for $ 10. Ooh… So fancy. There is plenty of free street parking around the neighborhood. It’s not like we’re in a busy side of town either. Well, maybe if SU has a game or something. Where is this lot they park your car? Oh, it’s just their own parking lot. Are we in LA? Haha. The waiter asked if we wanted tap, bottled or sparkling water. Tap water, please. We are in Seattle where we have the best tasting water. We ordered some cocktails. He explained that if we wanted the seven course beef, everybody in the party had to get it. I don’t understand why everyone had to get it at $ 35pp. You still get the same amount per person. It wasn’t like it was a buffet. We decided to go with it anyway because two people wanted to try it, including me. Of course the birthday girl gets her way. The others could’ve ordered the steak, but unfortunately had to settle on this instead. Here’s how the food went down. I was with close friends and we all agreed on the following: Brussels sprouts — Yum! Lightly salted with some Parmesan. Almost the best I’ve ever had. Loved it! Chanterelles — ooh, we never had mushrooms quite like this before! So tender and so flavorful. Loved it as well! Chicken was tender and okay good, but nothing outstanding about the dish. You can get better elsewhere. From their signature Seven Beef ‘bo 7 mon’ tasting: 1st — Carpaccio — it looked like a few slices of the Phở tai meat(the thinly sliced raw steak you get in your phở) laid out on a plate. Tasted exactly like the meat in phở. What the heck? 2nd — some sliced medium rare steak on a salad. I think since the steak was presliced it got cold fast. It lacked any kind of flavor and needed some sauce. You get 2 – 3 pieces per person, but no one was fighting over it. 3rd, 4th, 5th were served on the same plate — ‘bo la lot’ some beef rolled in leaves, two other types of sausage rolls. All were breakfast sausage sized. You get two per person. Again, nothing stood out here. No party in this mouth. 6th — beef ball thing with mushrooms. My friend said it tastes like a shumai with no wrapper, except a shumai tastes better. 7th — beef congee — small bowl each. It tasted like congee with phở broth. Overall, we were disappointed! It wasn’t a lot of food, but we still had leftover meat because it wasn’t very good and we had nothing to eat it with. If you get the real ‘bo 7 mon’ dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant, you would get a variety of 7 beef dishes ALL with an amazing burst of flavors served with lettuce, fresh herbs, sprouts, & vermicelli noodles to wrap them in rice paper to eat with some tasty fish sauce or paste. You get no sauce here. Maybe that is why they advertise it as a tasting and not a dinner. Too bad, because it is one of my favorite things to eat with my family, but I wouldn’t bring my family here. My parents would be highly disappointed and yell at me for paying double the price for half of the food. Hot sauce? They only have sriracha and Tabasco. Super weak sauce! I get it though, this is the new Capitol Hill, where being fancy trumps good food. Sure, they sell you with the quality cuts of grass-fed beef, but if they can’t cook it right, what’s the point? Can’t say this about the steak though since I haven’t tried it. It’s a beautiful space, upscale, nice, clean and new. The menu doesn’t offer that many Vietnamese dishes, so it’s a bit confusing that they offer the Vietnamese 7 course ‘royal’ beef dinner. It’s the name of the restaurant so I expected it to be perfection. I wish I had just tried the steak instead. I’m hesitant to come back to find out so it will be awhile before I do. I don’t want to sound like a hater and not a fan of writing bad reviews, but I just wasn’t impressed. I mean, don’t listen to me. Try it for yourself and be your own judge. We’ll see how these reviews average out over time. For now, two stars for the delicious sides we ordered that were done right and for the really cool atmosphere.

Love the look and atmosphere of this restaurant. Think industrial meets rustic charm. It’s lit with candles and the stringed warm lights hang above to give it a lighter feel than most steakhouses. Immediately you are greeted by fun smiley hosts. Our server was kind and attentive. My boyfriend was taking photos of the grill and butcher as he hacked away at a cow leg. To our surprise, Eric gave us a tour of the meat locker and told us about the local farm they get their meat from. Eric is one passionate man about his food and it shows by the quality of produce and meat he serves to his guests. OYSTERS 3 Kusshi oysters with a green apple foam. Tasty, but couldn’t taste the apple flavor at all. GRATINAUBLEU Best potatoes Ive had. Creamy cheesy carbs. What could you not like about it!!! CHANTERELLEMUSHROOMS Comes in an adorable mini cast iron pot. Roasted and oh so buttery. COTEDEBOEUF A long bone 48oz of charred deliciousness. Worth the $ 120 and is made to share.

Since they are new, I’ll go easy. Person at the door to let you know in. Check. Big, open space, with lots of wood and decorations, but not so noisy that you can’t hear each other. Check. The food was not bad but we didn’t hammer down a steak. We all shared what’s in the box, the 7 styles. It was a carpaccio, a steak salad, meatballs, lemongrass skewer, an skewer in greens(can’t remember the name), a sausage and congee. Instead of more meat, we had an app of clams, some brussels and a sweet potato. Of the 7, the meatballs, sausage and the steak salad were hits. Meh to the lemongrass skewer, which was sort of dry. I loved the congee and could have eaten more. Brussels always have a place in my heart. What to work on? There was no way to eat the congee. We had to ask for bowls and spoons. Staff was a little too attentive and we couldn’t even make choices before he was back at us. Pacing of the kitchen was too fast, as well. It was tough to enjoy when items kept firing out at us. It wasn’t cheap, but it was something completely different that you can’t get anywhere else.

Oh man, this spot is awesome! A few friends had gotten to Seven Beef the week it opened and even from the start I was hearing great things. I had a double-date with some friends and we were catching a show on the Hill. Seven Beef was the perfect pre-funk choice for both food and drinks. Reservations were a cinch and because half our group came a hair early, we were able to sit bar-side and have a cocktail before sitting down to dine. The bartender was amiable and well-versed in his craft. Though the cocktail menu had some great options, I was eager to try something else and he was quick to shake up a fantastic drink of my choice. Seated at our table we were insanely happy to read over the various meaty offerings. Especially because one of the options was a multi-coursed meaty meal for only $ 35 a person! Uhh… YEP. SOLD. So everyone at the group did the coursed dinner and then we also ordered an aged steak, two bottles of wine, and more cocktails. It wasn’t dirt cheap but it was insanely reasonable considering the quality of the food and drinks. The sommelier had outstanding suggestions for paired wines and the server was great at explaining each dish. Everyone was so on top of it. Very, very happy. Great for a date night, for small parties(they have a PVD in the back!) and great for impressing the boss, friends, or family.

Had high expectations based on good reviews and the reputations of the folks involved — but it’s clear they still having some growing pains of a new restaurant. We ordered the T-bone, oyster appetizer, and leeks. Service was very slow, to the point it appeared we had been forgotten… To the server’s credit she realized this and offered drinks(we took a glass of wine and honey bush fizz which was very good) on the house. Unfortunately service continued to be a bit disjointed — oysters came quickly and very tasty — akin to kiss of the ocean with a hint of apple, but the leeks though tasty were a bit lukewarm. This continued into the main course — the T-bone beef was clearly of quality — very soft and with a nice lean flavor expected of grass fed beef — BUT and this is a big but, it was only slightly warmer than lukewarm — the expected beautiful confluence of fat and meat when served at the proper temperature was alas wasted on what was clearly a high grade piece of meat. At first we thought it due to late service, but the fries were piping hot crispy and done just right — so we chalk it up to coordination issues in the kitchen. We were never asked how the beef was either(something I would always expect of a good steakhouse) and given the long service wait, weren’t in a mood to wait some more to have it done right(another 45 min?)… Positive points for high grade beef, lovely oysters, service recovery(free drinks), and overall ambiance… But docked for slow service and food not served at the right temperature. Am imagining these are correctable, but until then can’t give more than 3 stars though it has many things going for it. It’s a neighborhood restaurant so I’m going to give it another try on another day.

The seven-course beef was overall very yummy. It was only 35 bucks a person. Although, the last of the seven-course, the congee, was the worst of the seven. I’ve had better beef congee elsewhere. Brussels sprouts were excellent. The grilled octopus and spring rolls appetizer were both just ok; nothing to rave about. I’m definitely coming back to try their other beef dishes!

Yeay! Perfect for my current paleo/low carb eating! We came here specifically for the 7 course beef tasting. At $ 35 per person, it’s really well priced and for grass fed local beef. They break down the whole cow there! Amazing. My favorite was the first course(I know no names) it had a tang to it with veggies that paired very nicely as there was a slight hint of sweetness(maybe a spice?) that was a surprise. I thought it was cooked perfectly, but those that don’t like beef on the med — rare side might need a longer cook. My second favorite course was on the middle platter that had 4 types on it, and it was wrapped in a leaf. All courses were packed with flavor and distinctly different, including the congee that was a nice warm topper to the rounds of meat. I’d like a separate menu description on the seven courses so I might have a description of what I’m eating! In appetizers, we had the raw oysters $ 12 for 3, with a green apple foam. I loved the spring roll $ 10 for 3 small rolls. Not the usual Vietnamese spring roll you’d think of as the ingredients are vastly different. The restaurant is beautiful from the lighting to the décor. I think is great from having a casual drink/meal to romantic dining. High ceilings with an open kitchen but not loud! There is a smaller back area that has a gorgeous chandelier. Large bar area is welcoming. It’s 2 blocks from Ba Bar, and on a Tuesday nite it was easy to find street parking. Can’t wait to try more!

The long awaited Seven Beef Steak House has finally arrived. The new venture by Eric & Sophie Banh has finally come to life. The restaurant and bar looked amazing. Clean, fresh and modern. The steaks just melted in your mouth with so much flavor. The service was wonderful — very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Awesome job!!! If you are a foodie, make sure you put this restaurant on top of your list.
