We went to the Metro Grill for lunch during a day out and about in Seattle. It has such great reviews I think my expectations were too high. It was very nice(good location, good menu), but it didn’t deliver the 5 star experience I expected. On ambiance(lovely interior… kind of the dark, paneled, cozy feel) I’d give it a 4+. Service as very good… waiter was a solid 4, hostess a 5. But our food was a very solid 3. We both had wagyu selections(which we generally love); each dish was good, but without distinction. Overall, I’d say it was a nice lunch. We’ll try it again and see if we can find the missing stars.

My favorite steakhouse in Seattle. I almost tried all the steaks here and they are all awesome. I strongly recommend wagyu and porterhouse. Besides steaks, appetizers are also delicious. Btw i like set up and ambiance of this restaurant. Service here also worthes 5 stars. Don’t miss this place if you come to Seattle.

1÷26÷2016 I’ve been wanting to go here for awhile so I dragged some friends to this place on a Tuesday night. I had a 7:15 reservation and waited in the bar until 7:45. The bar server was weird and non responsive to us as we waited to be transferred to our table. When we finally were seated service was slow and borderline unacceptable for a place like this. Although our server was nice I just felt that I had to seek her out for another glass of wine or more water at my table. When you spend $ 60 for a steak you expect exceptional service and I just didn’t get it. I’m one of those people that actually wanted to spend more money on additional wine and dessert but because service was so slow I just wanted the check. Overall disappointed

I’m done. This place is my heaven. Steak, filet, wagyu, prime rib, ALLOFTHEABOVE. We had reservations, and we ended up coming 20 minutes early. No problem. Check your coat/umbrella in at the front, next to the meat fridge display of just some of the amazing steaks they serve. Our server was friendly, patient, and pretty much always there when we needed him. He gave us plenty of recommendations and all of them were right on point. But then again, I’m sure all the steaks there are amazing! Prime Filet & American Wagyu Filet($ 64) 6 oz. of each, which means 12 oz. of total heaven in my mouth. Once you cut into the filet, you’re mouth is thanking you in all sort of ways. But then once you put a small piece of the American wagyu in, your mouth doesn’t even know what to do. It just starts chewing and swallowing because it hasn’t had anything this good. The wagyu is so tender and juicy that I just want more and more and more! Highly recommended. Prime Delmonico($ 76) Huge piece of bone-in steak. It’s not as tender and tasty as the above, but this is for someone who is looking for a little more quantity than quality. The meat is still delicious, don’t get me wrong, but it’s just not on the superior level as the filet or wagyu. It’s still a winner, and you will still leave very satisfied getting your steak fix. It’s always a 5 star when you don’t know what’s better, the food or the service. Great problem to have. Don’t forget to tip the coat check on your way out.

My sister was visiting, and we decided to make this our«splurge» meal. I’m new to Seattle, and had heard a little bit about this place as the best steak restaurant in Seattle, but otherwise had no idea what to expect. The place is a lot more casual than I expected. It really has an almost«sports bar» atmosphere about it. There were people dressed in everything from shorts to tuxedos. That’s certainly okay, but not what I expected so was caught off guard a bit. It’s also very loud. Definitely not the upscale environment I expected, but not altogether bad. The service was frustrating. Very slow and at times non-existent. the server was very friendly and warm when we did see her, but she would disappear for 20 minutes while we waited… and waited… and waited. We were sitting in an odd place way in the back on a raised area. It was fine, except that it meant that no one else ever passed by, so we couldn’t get anyone’s attention at all. The food was good, steaks were great. But it was hard to enjoy because of the constant delay in getting service. We finished our meals and wanted to order dessert… but we ended up sitting there for 15 minutes with dirty dishes on the table before we got the server’s attention. By then, we just wanted to leave.(It was another 10 minutes to get the bill.) Overall, I’m not sure how I feel. The food was definitely good, so I guess I would consider going again… but the service was bad enough to make me think twice.

Pretty amazing service. We ordered raw Oysters for our group of 4, but there are only 3 oysters of each kind, and 2 kinds total that night which was a bit awkward to split. However our waiter brought out 1 extra of each oyster type so that all 4 of us could have one of each. Super nice of him(#1). Then we ordered our steaks and aside from our server just being the best, he even brought out a flight of steak sauces for us to try. I didn’t really like any of them except for the house steak sauce but it was still super nice of him(#2). We had two birthday girls at the table so at the end of our meal he brought us 2 desserts(crème brule and ice cream sundee) which was just overall another super nice thing he did(#3). Drinks kept flowing, water always full, food amazing and just all around fantastic service made our night amazing. Pro tip: The potato bread is warm and the butter is to die for. Also their medium rare is more rare than most, next time I’d go for the medium. I didn’t have the heart to send it back since everything else was just so good.

Service was amazing! Everyone is really friendly and nice. I ordered a 40oz ribeye with bone and it was the best steak I have ever had. The onion ring is alright I wouldn’t order them again, yes they are big but very soggy. The lobster bisque didn’t have a single piece of lobster in it. You only go to places like this just for steak so no surprise there.

Details don’t seem to matter here. Disappointed that this institutional steakhouse got so many little things wrong. The steak came out grey and undercooked, which happens when a line cook puts a cold steak on the grill without letting it come up to room temp first – rookie move. I also watched a server hastily move through the room spilling the martini he was serving without batting an eyelash. Saving grace was the friendly and knowledgable wine staff. Bottom line: wouldn’t go back.

We came here after a Seahawks game and it was a perfect way to unwind. We intentionally didn’t load up on stadium food so we could enjoy dinner here. This is just like your standard fancy steak joint. You get a small piece of steak for a premium price, and that’s literally all you get. You have to pay for everything extra. Potato, veggies, everything. They made a big deal about having 100% true Japanese Wagyu and even had it in a display case, so we had to try that. Also I always try out a steakhouse’s French Onion Soup, as that is one of my standards that I use to pass judgement on a steak house. They were both very good but I still stick by my opinion that this doesn’t taste quite like Wagyu in Japan. I know I’m heavily biased so take that for what it’s worth. I highly recommend that you try the Bananas Foster for dessert. They use Captain Morgan rum and flambee it right at your tableside which is pretty cool. This place will probably run you about $ 100 per person, give or take, so be aware. And definitely make reservations! This place is crowded!

Excelent food, excellent costumer service, and awesome steak, seriously it is the best! I celebrated my boyfriends birthday with all my family without any problems, they were overly nice to us. I will definetly do business with the Metropolitan Grill in the future.

This review is only for The Met’s happy hour, the best happy hour in all of Seattle, without a doubt! It’s certainly not the most extensive HH menu, but I’ve tried all of the HH items, and you really can never go wrong. The Works Burger, medium, is big, juicy, just straight-up excellent — and comes with golden fried potatoes for only $ 7!(Regularly, it’s $ 15.) If you’re a vegetarian(and even if you’re not!), you MUST try the artichoke hearts with mustard aioli. They are so flavorful — perfectly crispy on the outside, and artichoke-meaty and juicy on the inside! Cocktails are proper, and service is top-notch — always! Never a bad experience. Oh, also: complimentary coat check. Not a big deal, but it’s nice, right? Really classy. If you’re trying to go for HH, it’s best to get there right at 3, when it starts. Otherwise, you’d never find seating!

Dinner was delicious!!! Thus was definitely not a cheap meal, but when you go to a renowned steakhouse, hopefully you’re not looking to spend only $ 10. The SO and I both got filet mignon(he got 13oz, I got 8oz). He got a side salad and I got a baked potato. My MIL got a lobster bisque and raved about it, a small salad, a veggie stack she didn’t eat cuz she was already full and a baked potato she picked at. My FIL got the Hokkaido snow beef with a baked potato. I got to try some of the snow beef and oh my goodness… it melted in my mouth and was so good!!! For dessert, we all split a bananas foster(a dessert for 2) and even with the four of us trying to finish it, we weren’t able to. My filet was perfectly cooked and so soft and marbled I could’ve licked the plate(though I think that would’ve been frowned upon). Even dessert was perfectly sweet and not overly sweet, and was even made table side! Also, you get a TON of ice cream with it… so much we couldn’t finish ours though we did pick out all the bananas and caramel! The dinner was delicious and the waiter was perfectly attentive, not annoyingly asking if everything was OK and hovering every 5 minutes, but popping up just enough to check on us for more drinks, etc.

I came to Met Grill on a Friday night for dinner at 7:30pm for my fiancé’s birthday. We both have gone here before for casual business lunches but this was the first time to the both of us for a fancier dinner outing and we were both blown away! When I made the dinner reservation weeks in advance, I put a note in Opentable that we were celebrating a birthday, so as soon as we got seated at our table, our waiter greeted my fiancé saying happy birthday! They also asked us if we wanted drinks besides water, and we were being a little indecisive on wine, so the waiter called over the sommelier to help us pick a specific wine. We were so glad he did! The wine he suggested from Italy was delicious and easy to take down(I’m usually not a big fan of red wine but this I was able to drink easily). The waiter took our appetizer order as well while we were waiting for the wine to be brought over. By the time we got our wine poured, the appetizer came — great timing! We ordered the Calamari since we didn’t want to get too full off of appetizers(we have a bad habit of doing that…) and it was delicious! The breading was still warm and crispy, and there wasn’t too much breading that we couldn’t taste the squid. For the entrees, we each ordered steak — my fiancé ordered the sirloin and I ordered the Japanese Wagyu filet mignon — both were DELICIOUS! I will say my fiancé is very hard to please when it comes to steaks at restaurants but he was VERY pleased and satisfied with the steak at Met Grill. Not only was the steak cooked to perfection, but the baked potato on the side was BOMB! He couldn’t rave about the dish enough! I barely ate half of my filet, not because it wasn’t good(it was delicious as well), but because it was so good I got full so quickly! For dessert, they gave us their complimentary Burnt Cream, aka a Crème Brulee, and it was deeeeeeelicious! We were hoping to get through that and order another dessert but good thing we didn’t — we couldn’t fit anything else in our stomachs after that. :) The only reason I am rating the Met 4 stars instead of 5 is because of two very small things — price and parking. Yes, it’s a very nice upscale restaurant but with that you get what you pay for. Don’t expect to spend $ 30 – 40 per person when you eat here. But you definitely do get what you pay for, and the meal was worth every dollar we spent. And parking — the restaurant is parking so you have to either pay street parking, valet, or just cab in(which we did). We will definitely come to the Met the next time we are celebrating a special event. :)

The Met was absolutely amazing, from the service to the food to the atmosphere everything was amazing. We started with the crab cakes and calamari and a half bottle of Pinot Noir from King Estates. Everything was fantastic down to the aioli sauce for the calamari. What I really liked about the calamari was that they didn’t only include the rings they had lots of the tentacles which were done very nicely. The sweet jicama slaw under the crab cakes was also great. The French Onion soup was fantastic, lots of cheese and lots of flavor. You should definitely get the French onion soup when here. We split this and they gave us very nice portions with cheese on top of both! For an entrée we got the Waygu beef from Hokkaido. Our server was very knowledgeable about the beef and suggested getting it done medium and it came out brilliantly. My girlfriend and I split it so she got the mashed potatoes and I got the steak frittes. The mashed potatoes were a major winner(the split is an extra $ 6 but it gets you another side). For a surprise desert our server brought us a crème brûlée for my girlfriends birthday and it was fantastic. Highly recommend checking this place out!

My friend invited me to the Met a few nights ago. We got there just as they were opening for Saturday dinner. My friend reserved online. We got two glasses of a Riesling in the bar area as we waited for our table and then the hostess came to let us know the table was ready. $ 9 We started with an appetizer of fried artichokes with a dipping sauce. It looked like ranch but it wasn’t. It was a grain mustard aioli with just the right tanginess to pair with the ‘chokes. The artichokes were plentiful and fried just right. They weren’t greasy or too hot where you scald your mouth. About $ 14. I checked the online menu prior to coming to see if they had anything for vegetarians and although it’s a steakhouse with a large variety of meats(beef, chicken, seafood, lamb, etc), they did have a few items for vegetarians. Yes, they were mainly salads, but I opted for the Metropolitan Vegetable Stack. It’s basically a stack of assorted vegetable between two portabella mushrooms and when it comes out, it kind of looks like a hamburger topped with cheese. I’m not going to lie, although the vegetables were grilled, the entrée was a bit too simple and not as sophisticated as I was expecting. It also was lacking in flavor or spice. The side of garlic mashed potatoes was very good though and also very plentiful. It probably could have been shared between two people. $ 20 My friend got the Steakhouse Chicken which was very juicy and my friend loved it. We finished dinner with the nine layer chocolate cake a la mode. We shared this as the cake was SUPERSABADOGIGANTE large. We were only given forks to each with as the table was cleared and ice cream is actually quite hard to each with a fork. I don’t really like chocolate cake but this cake was AMAZING. Not too sweet and very rich in the cocoa department. They really know how to service the patrons of this establishment. There were«the black aprons», «the white coats», & «the black suits» who danced and paraded up, down, and sideways around the aisles. The waiters or «the white coats» are very knowledgeable about every aspect of the service and the menu. So ask anything and everything as they truly appear to want you to be satisfied with your meal and every plate. All the«white coats» were older in age and obviously much more tenured than the«black aprons». The«black aprons» appeared to be a combo of busperson and lesser waiter that keeps drinks filled, cleans the table, packages leftovers, and aren’t the main conversationalists regarding the meals or menu. «The black suits» appeared to be mid-level to upper-level table managers to make sure there are no lulls in service, discuss dissatisfaction with selected items, provide additional info«the white coats» were unable to provide and several appeared to be sommeliers. I noticed all this & thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful ballet that was constantly going on around the tables along with the symphony of background music, side chatter, laughs, and clangs of silverware and plates. The also don’t rush you out of the restaurant and let you relax a bit and don’t constantly ask you«how everything is». This is a wonderful restaurant & I would suggest it to anymore. Obviously it’s a little more expensive but treat yo self.

Came for happy hour and we were stuffed! The staff was great, very accommodating and friendly. Wines for $ 6.50 and great food options. Get the burger($ 7) and the prawns($ 4) — delish! The beef dip sandwiches, artichoke hearts, skewers, were just ok. Definitely need to come back for the steak!

what a disappointment. I’ve come here many times over the years and have always had impeccable service and good food. 1. although a high end steak house, I think the prices are astronomical compared to their peers. 2. on our last visit the service was not at the level I would have expected — long waits between server visits, uncoordinated drink order/wine steward service, and service style was way too informal. staff was friendly and apologetic when they screwed up, however. 3. food presentation was substandard — I know it’s meat on a plate but still could be a little more coordinated. 4. atmosphere — what used to be quaint in a 1980’s Gordon Gekko«Greed is good» kind of atmosphere now just looks overused, dated and shabby. I really won’t be coming back — the service, atmosphere and food just we’re worth the high price. on the plus side the meat is good and they validate valet parking.

What an amazing place to have my birthday dinner. If you are looking for a fancy steak dinner, this is definitely the place to go to! This place has a old school feel to it. The décor, the environment, the atmosphere. It felt very classy and elegant. Our waitress, gosh I wish I remembered her name. But she had been with the restaurant for about 25 years and she was freakin amazing. Very helpful, knowledgable, and efficient. She gave us the history of the place, she knew everything on the menu(as she should with 25 years of experience)! But even the gentleman that came and opened our bottle of Cabernet, he was very knowledgable and nice as well. All the staff was great! Of course this place is more on the pricier side but I can tell you it is well worth it. The food is phenomenal. The meats are amazing. The menu has every choice steak you can dream of. I decided on the filet mignon with a lobster tail. The meat was $ 69 and the lobster tail was $ 70! I really couldn’t believe that my lobster tail cost more than my steak but hey, both were incredibly delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection just the way I like it(medium rare). The lobster tail was buttery and a pretty good size. I also had to order the lobster mac & cheese and oh that was to die for! The meal came with 1 side which I decided on the cream spinach and that was even more delicious! It was all just too much for me so I had to take the rest to go! We ordered some wine and few drinks. They even made their«non-alcoholic» beverages an alcoholic one for me. The Citris Mojito just sounded too good to be non-alcoholic. We were all accommodated the entire night. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. And if I were in Seattle again I just might have to come back!

Decided to try this place because they had wagyu beef and that’s my favorite kind. I really like japanese wagyu. I’m not sure if this wagyu was japanese or american though. — NY steak — normal. not great but not bad. — omni filet — this was $ 105. The flavor was good but this steak was wayyyy tooo soft! It felt like I was eating cotton candy or something. — oysters — small. good. not worth the money but some people don’t care about money lol — shrimp cocktail — expensive but it was good overall, I’ve had better steaks in Cali.

What can excellent choice for dinner! We picked this place to go out for dinner with another couple. We were greeted by the doormen and then were whisked away to another era once we walked inside. Everything reminded me of The Great Gatsby. Everything was classy and beautiful. We were seated right away, and began ordering. Our waiter was an older gentleman and he was so kind and very helpful in helping us decide what cut of steak to order. We finally decided on a rack of lamb as well as filet mignon and New York strips. The food came after a short wait and smelled and looked… Amazing. Mouthwatering. You can taste the quality and freshness and it was cooked to perfection, to each how they liked it. Each dish came with well portioned sides. Our tummies were completely full and so happy! It is pricey, our bill was over 400 for a dinner for 4, but for the quality and service, it is definitely worth it.
