Awesome new restaurant! The interior is roomy and cool! But then you check out the menu, try the food and KNOW you will be back soon! Our group of 4 had a hard time choosing because everything sounded so good! And once ordered everyone had to try a bit of ALL the dishes! Great service and tasty dishes!

Expensive, but not too shabby.($ 20 including tax and I ate everything and wasn’t stuffed…) One pound of wings is 10 little ones, so you can get five and five of two sauces. I got jalapeño coconut lime, which mostly tasted like coconut and the sweet chili sauce, which was basically Mae Ploy, which might explain why my wings came in a pool of that sauce compared to the coconut one, which just had the sauce on the wings and that’s it. The jalapeño cheddar cornbread waffle was pretty good. Could have used just a tad more of the garlic sour cream. I ended up salting it just a little, though you could always pour syrup over it, I suppose. Might not want to bring younger kids in here as they were playing hardcore rap in the middle of the day. I think the rapper said the N-word like 50 times that song.

I go to Cleveland High School in Seattle, and the first time I went to Nate’s Wings Waffles, I couldn’t believe how tasty their food was! I was hooked right there and then and continued going to their business ever since. I would continue to go there every time they release a new waffle special. I would recommend going there once they release their pink lemonade waffle again because it was so delicious. The chicken there was incredibly crispy, juicy, and tender! The football coach at Cleveland(Coach Jackson), who is so serious about his chicken, couldn’t believe how delicious their honey sweet chili, breaded wings were. He was really grubbin’. I would really recommend going there for lunch with a friend or whoever.

After a year and a half after my last review, I decided to give this place the benefit of a doubt since the reviews are mostly good… But My friend and I ended up being pretty disappointed yet again… Garlic ginger wings barely had any taste to it, it basically just made the wings saucy and that was it lol. Garlic fries had some flavor but they were soggy! Blegh I haaate soggy fries. Mac and cheese was the best part of my meal. I tried to like it, I really did. :(

Don’t order things to go maybe? Most of our wings were the saddest excuse for a ‘wing’ I’ve ever seen. Sucks because the sauce is good… but I didn’t pay $ 40 for sauce…

So my bf wanted to try the wings. The owner is a basketball player and he’s all about basketball. We arrived 15 mins before opening so we hung out outside. The bicycle/coffee shop next door looks pretty cool from the outside. Anyways, when the door opened we walked in. We were the first customers there. My bf said HELLO and at that time there were two people at the counter. No one said a word or even acknowledged us, it was a little awkward. Finally, I said«are we supposed to seat ourselves?» The gentleman said yes and handed us the menus. At this point he was a little more helpful with giving us some recommendations. We ordered a waffle, 1lb of lemon pepper chicken, and the mac and cheese. The waffle was good. The wings were a little greasy for our taste, but the mac and cheese was pretty delicious. I would maybe give this place a second try, but I don’t live in Seattle so I guess not.

It’s official — I’m obsessed! Really, does it get any better than this? I got the Not So Plain Waffle and 1lb of wings with chipotle BBQ. The waffle was nice and crisp, with wonderful flavor and texture. I love waffles in general, and this was an especially great one. The wings were also fantastic! I got them naked(not breaded). They were crunchy and moist and DELICIOUS. The chipotle bbq sauce was great and not tooooo spicy. It’s a good thing I don’t live near this place because I would get so fat on wings and waffles.

Holy moley this place. I’ve been here twice since I wrote my previous review, and this place got their chicken game on point and kept their waffles top notch. Today I ordered breaded wings with sauce on the side. Unlike my first experience here, the chicken tasted incredible, and their breading is delicate and very delicious. The chicken meat itself is very juicy underneath the breading. Waffles are still so good — crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Not too heavy or crazy, but not plain and boring like waffles can be. They had a special non-alcohol drink today: blackberry peach lemonade, affectionately named«Nate Juice» by a patron who will remain unnamed. Nate Juice was pulpy and refreshing. Loved it.

Yikes! Am I part of the crowd of non-believers that was not impressed by this place? I was looking forward to trying this place for the longest time and when I finally took a bite into those wings, I was most definitely not flying. I came here on a weekday and there was maybe two other tables filled. Not busy. The food took FOREVERTOCOMEOUT. Maybe about 30 minutes. How long does it take to fry chicken and cook batter on a waffle iron? I ordered half a pound of of the Lemon Pepper wings, which is about 4 – 5 depending on how lucky you’re feeling and the Savory Waffle to share. The chicken itself was just okay, wasn’t anything mind boggling and the sauce was satisfying. The savory waffle could have been a little more crispy for my liking, but everyone is different with their preferences. The food is just adequate, but nothing special enough for me to come back. I still got respect for Nate, doe.

I came here for the first Friday of the month. They had a DJ spinning on the ones and twos. The two guys who took my order and made my drink was fantastic. They were personable and assisted me to ensure my time there was perfect. The reason why i gave it a 4 star is because they didn’t have wet wipes. I have never went to a place who serves wings in NYC and doesn’t have wet wipe. I got 4 – 5 wings, sweet chili chicken. I like my chicken wings naked and then i can dip it in the sauce. It was ok. I also got the mac and cheese. I was with a bunch of friends. They had this one called«Vietnamese sauce»… Yummmy. My friends also ordered the grilled cheese sandwich which was HUGE with tasty cheese and a perfect item for the menu. I also saw the sliders after I ordered but that is defiantly something I wanted. I was able to try the kale salad, which my friend ordered so i was able to give it a trial. It was really good. I enjoyed my time here and our large group of friends had a great time and enjoyed the food. I want to try the waffles. SOUNDS quite delicious.

I came to Nate’s Wings and Waffles during a 5-day trip to Seattle. We were craving wings and found this place close to where we were staying. The restaurant is very laidback — you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. Nothing fancy, no frills. Our excitement was quickly turned to disappointment when we received our food. While the food looked great, I can’t say the same for the taste. We ordered one lb. of breaded coconut jalapeño lime wings, a savory cornbread waffle with a fried egg, and a side of kale salad. The wings were a decent size but each bite was way too oily and pretty bland. The waffle was soggy and also lacked flavor. The kale salad was pretty good but was drenched in honey chipotle dressing… too much flavor. I enjoyed how chill the restaurant was but unfortunately, I can’t say the same for the food.

The wings were cooked with perfection, I got the breaded ones. Flavored with the sweet chili and lemon pepper. The sweet chili was better. The chicken strips was yummy yum yum, the kale salad had a kick to the dressing very yummy. The Mac and cheese looked like cheese fries to me at first but it is made with penne pasta. It is dark in the dining area with the tables so it looked like fries at first. The waffles was good the traditional and corn meal one. Didn’t like using the iPad since it asked for tip… What is one to do when their looking right at you. Oh there is two restroom the second one doesn’t have a seat so if you’re a female the first one is much better because it is larger too.

Let’s see… I think Nate’s was great! My friend and I arrived at 5:00pm and decided to try some HH items before the rest of the group got there. The kale salad had a nice lil kick because of the honey chipotle dressing. The chicken waffle sliders were flavorful and delicious! I would say decently priced for what you get. I love French fries and Nate’s loaded fries with garlic sour cream was delicious! The bacon was a little too salty for my taste though! The rest of the group arrived and we ordered: two lbs of wings(chipotle bbq, coconut jalapeño lime, garlic ginger, and honey sweet chili), two lbs of spicy chicken strips. The chicken strips were HUGE pieces! And nicely seasoned. Not so much a fan of the wings, specifically the coconut jalapeño lime flavor but the chipotle bbq was saucy and bomb. Waffles: jalapeño cornbread waffle, savory cornbread waffle, and the savory waffle. Jalapeño wasn’t very spicy, the savory cornbread waffle was pretty good, and the savory waffle was pretty good as well. A lot of the reviews said the waffles were dry, but I really only noticed that with the cornbread waffles because… well helloo… cornbread! I really enjoyed the chicken strips and waffles with the maple syrup. Overall I enjoyed my meal… we ordered way too much for 5 people(including one vegetarian!). It was kinda dark inside, but I really enjoyed the set up and décor. It felt like I was(kinda) outside on a patio with the lights on the wall and the wood seating/benches.

I’ve tried Nate’s twice and I am still not very impressed. Because I am such a fan of chicken and waffles generally, I’ve tried theirs twice and can’t say they are any better than average. The waffle tends to be dry and the chicken lacking flavor. There are much better restaurants that serve chicken and waffles, such as Fats and the Burgundian.

This feels like a hidden gem, even if it’s not that hidden. Came here for lunch and had a cornbread waffle with regular wings… phenomenal. So simple but so delicious! The highlight for me was definitely the waffle. It was both savory and sweet, both soft and crispy, and just straight up tasty. Everything is also very reasonably priced! I’ll definitely be back.

The food is pretty consistent except one time our chicken was burnt. We always order the same thing… ½lb of spicy chicken strips and ½lb of regular chicken strips with a ‘not so plain’ waffle and garlic fries. The best dipping sauce is honey chipotle. The employees are always nice and helpful.

I would give it a 3.5 stars, because the wings were okay but the waffles were good. Also the mac n cheese is LEGIT. There’s not much selection other than that. They are a small business and very nice. I will come back for those 2 things, maybe try a different wing flavor next time.

Stopped here for a quick lunch. Be careful with how much you order! We ordered way too much for two people: 1 lb of wings, 0.5 lb of strips, jalapeño corn waffle, and the special of the day bacon mac and cheese. Could have easily done just 0.5 lb of wings, 0.5lb of strips and maybe one other item! I was a huge fan of the strips and my partner a huge fan of the wings. We got the wings without sauce so in future we might come back and get the wings tossed in sauce. Wasn’t the biggest fan of the jalapeño corn waffle, so will most likely try a regular waffle in the future. Very relaxed, chill atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

The BF and I still rave about this place.(If Unilocalers have any places they like to share, feel free.) We don’t even really care for fried chicken, but it’s NATEROBINSON. We went as a novelty when we were in Seattle, and it blew us away. Side note: I wish they put up all the teams he’s been on, and a green jersey of the bulls? Really?

Why is Nate’s Wings and Waffles so far from my house :(Of course I did not order wings or waffles. I had chicken sliders and mac and cheese. Both GOOOOOOOD. Chicken was tender and the mac and cheese super creamy. We ended up ordering waffles after finishing everything and those were light and fluffy. Maybe I’ll be back next time to actually get wings.

I can’t believe that I never wrote a review of this place, despite the fact I have been here about 5 times. While I sometimes love crazy fancy food, I find that I am really, at heart, a girl who likes simple food. Nate’s Wings and Waffles is simple food done exceedingly well. I always keep coming back for their half pound of chicken strips and fries. Hubby loves coming back here for their vegetarian options/specials they have and have made especially for him… at least, it seems that way! Everything is fresh and made to order. Locally sourced chicken that tastes so much better than the industrial chicken you find floating in larger commercial restaurants. Service is top notch and I find I really like the workers here.

cool little spot in seattle to grab some chicken and waffles. It’s far from the best i’ve had for a few reason — at a $ 1 a wing, there isn’t much value to it. I had them naked with a side of ranch just to taste the actual flavors; flavor and juiciness was all there for the wings themselves but not much of a wow factor to separate them from competition, though they are better than bar wings. The waffle was savory and good but the chicken tenders themselves were a little overcooked. By taste and texture I think the oil was old. Flavor wasn’t anything great. It suffices for a craving of chicken and waffles but it’s not the holy grail of what it could/should be.

Got a chance to stop by Nate’s last weekend after hearing lots of good reviews from our friends. The décor was nice, and Nate’s second location was in a neat spot near Seattle U and even had free parking, a rare feature for a Capitol Hill restaurant. We found the restaurant to randomly be kinda cold, but overall enjoyed the design of the restaurant. Oh yeah, and the food! Can’t forget about the glorious chicken and waffles. We ended up getting their spicy fried chicken strips, a cornbread waffle and their daily special buffalo chicken mac & cheese. Everything came out pretty quickly and all of it looked delicious. The Mac & Cheese ended up being the star of the show for us, with the buffalo being a subtle but welcome addition to the dish. We found the chicken to be a little over-fried, but that’s probably more of an outlier. Their maple aioli was also glorious, going really well with the cornbread waffle we got. Overall, would definitely recommend going to Nate’s, and don’t forget the maple aioli!

Ironically, I partook of neither the wings or waffles when I visited Nate’s Wings & Waffles so perhaps my review may not be the best judge of things. What I did have were the chicken waffle sliders, mac & cheese, and onion rings. The waffle sliders — excellent. Moist, juicy chicken, of course, and a sweet waffle. Mac & cheese — creamy & rich. The onion rings — meh. Tasted like the frozen variety. One of these days should I find myself back in Seattle I’ll definitely try a more representative plate of their offerings. Still, I wasn’t disappointed. Even if I only came by since Nate Robinson had recently signed with the Clippers so I felt obligated to give his restaurant a try.

Facing a serious dilemma here… Should I write a useful, detailed review or keep Nate’s to myself? Here’s how I know this place is outstanding — I’ve been here! But also, the friend that took me here for lunch admitted he’d been there 3x in just a month. So yeah, this place is awesome. And if I’m not careful, I’ll be coming here 3x a month too. Walking up to the counter it was tough to decide what to order. There are so many delicious sounding options that I honestly had to step back and let someone else go ahead of me. Worse yet, my friend who took me is vegan and was selling me hard on the chipotle black bean sandwich. Which did look amazing, by the way! The only thing that really helped me decide was the words«Nate’s Special.» If there’s something on the menu that’s more special than all of the other amazing sounding items, I’ve gotta have it. It’s a fried chicken sandwich with an onion ring INSIDE it and I could opt to add bacon. So duh, I did. This sandwich was incredible! And better yet, it came with my choice of side. Among the options I had the mac and cheese which is easily some of the best mac I’ve ever had. The portions were great for the price and I ate exactly half the meal and felt totally stuff. Brought the rest home to my fiancé and was basically a hero. Even just half the special and the mac n cheese was enough for him for lunch too. Oh! And they have delicious bottomless lemonade. So generous! The day I was there it was a lychee lemonade. Almost a little too sweet for my liking but I drank it all anyway because sometimes sweet is a good thing and it was really refreshing. Will be back again to try other items. Curious to see what it’s like here at night? They have a DJ booth. Really, they do.

Went here about a week ago with my boyfriend. He’s a huge NBA geek so he wanted to try Nate Robinson’s wings while we were on a weekend trip in Seattle. We came in on a Saturday evening around 5:30PM and the spot was surprisingly pretty empty. The place itself had a really cozy and welcoming vibe to it. There’s a basketball hoop along with all of Nate Robinson’s jerseys hanging up on the wall as décor. The people there were really nice and friendly and answered all of the questions that we had(since we had told them we were first-timers to the spot). We ordered the chipotle bbq and lemon pepper wings as well as an order of Nate’s Special. I didn’t eat much of the wings cause my boyfriend ate most of them. He seemed to enjoy the Chipotle BBQ sauce. The Lemon Pepper was a bit too sour and tangy for his liking(from what I remember it tasted like straight-up lime and pepper – I guess the name was more literal than we had thought). I didn’t absolutely love it but I didn’t hate it either. What really left an impression on me was Nate’s Special. I’ve never had a grilled cheese sandwich like that before and I absolutely loved the combination of the chicken strips and the onion rings in the sandwich. I instantly devoured mine along with the fries that they came with. Will definitely be coming back to have another one of Nate’s Specials!

I haven’t been to the Nate’s in the Rainier Beach area, so I can’t compare this one(near Seattle U) to the one in the south, but this space was decently-sized, with a good amount of parking outside. The space is divided into a lower area(where you order your food) and an upper area with the majority of the seating. We stopped by on a Friday night, and the place had plenty of seating. After reading the menu on the wall, we ordered: 1 lb of wings: when you order at least a pound you can pick more than one flavor. We got naked wings(not breaded) with lemon pepper and chipotle BBQ(I preferred this version). Bacon waffle: while the waffle was good, I am not sure how much flavor was added by the bacon. Next time, I would just order the plain waffle. Onion rings: I would skip this next time(too overly battered for my taste) and get the fries instead. Overall, Nate’s is a good place for some wings and waffles. I will come back to try some of the other wing flavors in the future.

Sadly, I have to downgrade my past reviews. The last FIVE times I have been there(2lbs chicken strips each time) I have been SO disappointed. The strips were overcooked and very dark and hard. Basically, they are almost inedible. I threw the last purchase away. I discussed this with them twice. They are one block away from my house and I frequented them often, but not more. Whatever magic they had is now gone. I won’t return.

So here’s the thing, I love cheese more than anything else. So imagine my excitement when I found out there in existence are waffles with cheese at Nate’s. Then imagine my disappointment when said waffle only contained a tiny bit of cheese, not enough to even make an impression on my tastebuds. Sure, the actual waffle contained cheese, onions, and bread crumbs,(I opted out of the onions), but even THAT were sparse. In short, the waffle was very plain. It was like I was eating a regular waffle. Had they market that as a plain waffle, then it would have been golden. However, as this is a savory waffle, I’m utmost disappointed by the lack of flavor. We also ordered chicken and garlic fries. I can’t attest to the chicken, but the garlic fries were just okay. Nothing spectacular. Other than that, the atmosphere was laid back, bus your own table kind of deal. I don’t think I would be back. Real value worth of the waffle: $ 4 dollars

Who was I kidding thinking I could come here, exercise self-discipline, and stop at a kale salad? I studied the menu long and hard while waiting for my turn to order at the counter, and all those wing and waffle varieties were not about to let me leave without some of them in my stomach. Don’t tell anyone, but I gave in. Thankfully, they serve wings two ways: naked or breaded. I took a pound of the naked ones for my party of three for 75% less guilt. I asked the cheery lady at the counter(I think her name was Stacey) for her favorite one out of a number of viable sauce options: chipotle BBQ, classic buffalo, coconut jalapeño lime, lemon pepper, garlic ginger, teriyaki, honey sweet chili. She recommended the lemon pepper, so we did that for one half of our wings and randomly picked chipotle BBQ for the other half just because. Very little guilt at this point — but then came the waffle orders. My fiancé and our friend each had the cornbread waffle, and I had the savory cornbread waffle(because I suck at self-discipline in reality and wanted cheese and meat in my waffle, too). After paying at the counter, we found a big table on the corner of the main dining room. The table had containers of all the clean silverware that you’d need, as well as abundant quantities of napkins and a huge bottle of syrup. There was a particular football game I was trying not to miss, and yay, they had a TV there. We asked one of the staff members if they could throw it into the TV, and he immediately changed the channel. Win! Our orders came a few minutes later, fresh and hot. Everything was in a paper plate, and each plate of waffle came with a little plastic container of butter. My savory cornbread waffle smelled so good — but it tasted even better. The mild sweetness of the cornbread and the flavors of the sausage, melted cheese, and green onions in it together were just delicious. I enjoyed every cheesy, carby, sodiumy bite of this baby! The wings came very generously smothered in the sauces we picked. I’ve been to many places who skimp on sauces, and Nate’s is far from being one of them. The lemon pepper recommendation was on point! It was a bit unexpected for me because I normally don’t think lemon pepper when I think wings, but it was excellent. You really get the pleasant tartness of the lemon and the kick of the pepper in this sauce, and it’s not too bold. Even when all the lemon-peppered wings were gone, I kept eating forkfuls of the sauce that was left — there was a lot. The atmosphere here is super-relaxed, and there’s no loud music blaring through the speakers to make it impossible for people to talk to each other. Other pluses are that it has a full bar, and they seem to keep their bathrooms clean. My only suggestion would be for staff members to keep an eye out on the garbage bins constantly because the dishes are disposable, and when we threw out our stuff, we noticed that all the bins were almost filled to the top. I don’t regret anything I ate here at all, even if it meant an extra hour of gym work. Hahaha! I’ll be back over and over again. Maybe I’ll even get to try the kale salad one of these days.

I love my waffles, sweet and savory. Unfortunately, this local eatery has a long way off when compared to Roscoes in LA and waffle window in Portland. The waffles are fluffy and airy and lack in sweetness like liege Belgium waffles and savory ingredients seemed muted in the batter. I do appreciate the unique maple aioli sauce which is quite good! I would like to have options for chicken meat such as thighs, breasts. Their wings with breading are well seasoned. Décor and customer service is awesome!!! I love this addition to the South Seattle area and look forward to trying their menu as they age.

Chicken & waffles, ya say?! From Mr. Nate Robinson(aka Seattleite/basketball extraordinaire)?! Count me in! My friend and I shared the not-so-plain waffle, ½ lb of wings tossed in garlic ginger sauce, ½ lb of spicy strips, salt & pepper fries and a lemonade. I was a little taken aback when our bill came to a whopping $ 30, but I figured it would be well worth it. I was wrong. Immediately after the gal brought our food, I noticed that instead of the three strips(equivalent to the ½ lb), we were given two wings and one strip. Upon mentioning it, the girl tried to dismiss me by telling me that I was wrong. Ok… sure… Both our wings and strips were burnt. Maybe I’m a tough critic, but it shouldn’t be that hard to master the cook time(especially for a place specializing in fried chicken). The fries were… well, fries. Don’t let the«salt & pepper» seasoning entice you — they’re simply just regular fries. However, I did enjoy the waffle! It was light and crunchy on the outside, but soft and pillowy on the inside. And bonus: the waffle is big enough to share with a friend!
