Arcaro Boxing

I purchased a deal on Groupon for five discounted sessions at Arcaro Boxing and it was awesome! It was my first time boxing ever so I was a bit nervous, but luckily for me Tricia was a great teacher, easy to talk to, and a good motivator, who provided clear instruction and solid feedback while I was learning. Over the five training sessions, I learned punching combinations, footwork, head movement and a variety of different exercises that I practice to this day! I got to experience a little bit of everything, from hitting the heavy bag and speed bag, to in-​ring shadowboxing, and some pretty good cardio training as well. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend this gym to anyone interested in boxing.

Looking to box but you’re just not sure? Arcaro is an excellent place to get your feet wet. Real casual easy going environment. Coaches will push you to complete your workout, but they won’t shame you either. There are 2 in-​house basset hounds that whole down the fort and keep things lively. Oh! and the first class is free too.

If you haven’t ever tried boxing, you should! This was my second time going to a boxing class and it was a great workout, you will feel it the following day. I like how there are all different skill levels and that you can watch others to learn quite a bit, trainers also give helpful hints and tricks for proper form.

The first session is free and after that you are hooked. The class is a combination of boxing skills and fitness. Each time is different and each time you walk out feeling fantastic. It is a mix of skill sets and levels, yet it doesn’t matter as you go as hard as you want. Equal mix male and female attendees and everybody working towards a shared goal of improving each and every day.
The coaches are outstanding and offer tips on form and strategy. If you want to do more then just fitness, they have the experience and knowledge to take you to the next level. If you want to do just fitness, that is perfect and they are supportive and full of encouragement.
This is more then a gym. It is family, they do care about each individual (they remember each persons name) and they want to know your personal goals.

this was my first time trying the sport and it was so much fun. the sessions are short 30 minute sessions. although, it is relative. it seems forever when youre huffing and puffing.
tricia guides you along the way. footwork was so important, which was where i had the most troubles. working on the punching bags really wears you down. probably the longest 3 minutes besides waiting next to a microwave. i was still a newbie and didnt get much sparring action going, but for the few rounds where you get to punch with the trainer, that was so much fun. it felt like i was doing my own boxing training montage.
im going to try to go back for the fitness classes afterwards. its a great workout and it trains your hand eye foot coordination.

I had a great time going to my first free group fitness session at Arcaro, good enough to go back today! I didn’t have any real martial arts experience but I have always wanted to try. Super friendly atmosphere and intense workouts.

I’m a lifelong fan of being fit and was introduced to Arcaro Boxing through my wife; I’ve trained a little bit of MMA standup at another place and wanted to work more on my hands. I’ve trained in many different martial arts styles and schools, and I’ll tell you that the attitude and pedigree of who runs a school is what you should be interested in, as that attitude and knowledge trickles down to everyone else there. Tricia is the real deal with her pro background, and even better, she will tell you the details of technique to improve your boxing performance in a straightforward and non-​egotistical way. A great coach is someone who knows your strengths, weaknesses, motivation, and will help you get better, and Tricia does all these things. The attitude of everyone involved in this gym from the assistant coaches, to the competitive boxers and people just looking for a workout is really great. My two sons take the youth boxing class, and I’ve seen an improvement in their fitness level and focus, not just their boxing skill. While there are an incredible variety of exercises and techniques to do at each class, I’ve enjoyed the attention on fundamentals (especially footwork), precise details, and the progression of techniques over time. No matter what your goals are, whether you just want to get in shape, cross train, become an amateur fighter, or just get a better understanding of the sweet science, this gym is top notch. Highly recommended.

This gym is great. The coach was very knowledgeable and you can tell that she has a lot of experience. I went in for the group lesson hoping to focus on actual boxing techniques to improve my striking and not just some cardio boxing class. I was very pleased with how the class was run and I felt that I learned a lot and made me realize all the holes in my stand up game.

Tricia gave us a spontaneous and sorely needed post-​Christmas workout at her new gym. She’s a great trainer. Pushes you but never unfriendly or overwhelming. She corrects flawed posture and technique but also reinforces you as you’re working hard. As other reviewers have noted, she’s also very passionate about what she does. The gym is clean and has everything you need for a solid circuit. She never charges for the first workout so there’s no reason not to check Arcaro Boxing out. You just may become addicted!

Coach Tricia and Jen H. are awesome. The space is great. There are many options for a variety of classes & open gym. A better workout, from coaches who are considerate, caring and aware of your personal goals and situations, would be hard to find. This gym provides a unique and comfortable place to improve your overall health, both physically and mentally. I am so happy to be able to come here and cannot begin to express how grateful I am for boxing and Tricia.

I followed Coach Tricia over from a previous Seattle boxing gym, and I’m so glad Arcaro Boxing is up and running. Anyone that comes in to the gym and meets Coach Tricia will immediately notice her passion for the sport of boxing and friendliness towards everyone.
The gym targets people of all backgrounds, general fitness to competitive boxers. I view myself as somewhere in between, and love how Coach Tricia manages to pay attention to details of every one in class and offer tips on correcting form/​posture/​technique. Having a coach that corrects form and improves my technique is very important to me in my search for boxing gyms over Seattle. Other gyms the coachs may not generally pay any attention if you’re doing something wrong (which could be dangerous!)
I encourage everyone to drop in and give one class a shot. That’s all it will take to get you hooked!
