My stay was very pleasant. I had no issues at all. The Wi-Fi works perfectly and I was able to get some very much needed rest because it was quiet. The staff was helpful and checked on me during my stay to make sure everything was going all right. The breakfast was filling and there were a variety of options.

I’ll get the good out of the way since it is a short list. The receptionist, Stephanie, was very friendly and helpful, and I was looking forward to a nice 3 night stay after I checked in. And the beds did turn out to be quite comfortable. It was pretty much all down hill from there. The room was dark and dingy, the walls were dirty and dusty. The curtains for the front window didn’t completely cover the window, and left about 3 or 4 inches constantly exposed from the outside. Not only was the restroom as small as in some RVs ive been in, but someone had previously broken a towel rack from inside the molded fiberglass shower, and this damage was remedied with what appeared to be duct tape painted a color vaguely resembling the color of the tub, and then taped over the two holes which used to hold the rack. I got a one bedroom«suite» which wasn’t really a bedroom, just a very long room separated by the bathroom but with no real privacy in the bedroom. This was fine for my purposes, except that the air conditioner was next to the bed at the opposite end of the room from the door. So in order to cool the seating area we had to crank the AC down to 64, which never really cooled the seating area sufficiently, but did make the bed freezing cold. The real let down came the second night I stayed. I was visiting family in Round Rock and we had a nice BBQ that ended at about 12:30am. I drove back to the hotel only to find that there was absolutely NO parking spaces. Literally each and every space was taken, except for the 3 or 4 spaces where a bunch of broken furniture and other junk was thrown haphazardly. I called the night clerk, Brian, who said he would be right out to help. I noticed there was one spot right in front that appeared to be reserved for employees, and when Brian came out, I asked him if I could park there, he said no I couldn’t. So I asked if I could just park in the empty space that was marked«no parking» which happened to be right in front of my door, he said if I parked there my truck would be towed. So I asked what exactly I was supposed to do. He instructed me to drive to the back of the lot and park next to the dumpster. I said you mean that area that is marked as a fire lane, right next to that pile of junk? He said yes, but make sure to leave at least 10 feet from the dumpster so that someone doesn’t call to tow my truck for blocking the dumpster. Couldn’t wait to get out of there the next morning. Will NOT be back

This place scared me. It was dirty, the room smelled musty, and to my great horror, I saw a cockroach skitter away when I got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night. It was hard to go back to bed after that, and I couldn’t WAIT to leave in the morning. I don’t usually post reviews of 1-star, but I really just want to warn travelers to stay away if possible. Actually seeing the bug was what really did it for me, though that wasn’t the only negative thing. From the sleazy guy that checked us in to the bugs in the room to the poorly lit parking lot in a sketchy area of town and more, this one’s just not worth the price. Find another place to stay; the peace of mind will be worth it! Like another reviewer posted– they get 1-star for having a Texas-shaped waffle maker. yay.

This review is a little different. It’s a moral and ethical business practice review It’s primarily to caution anybody not to do any business with this hotel. The owners of the hotel just cancelled reservations for hundreds of people, including myself and friends, because they realized they could rebook the whole hotel with people that were on a waiting list for this particular weekend, and charge them four times as much, because they were willing to pay. At the bottom of this review I will post the actual email exchange we had with Baruc, whoever he is. Notice how unprofessional the cancellation email is and how he contradicts himself multiple times. We also had a telephone conversation, so some of what I say below is based on that. The hotel used the excuse that because of a computer error, they booked twice as many rooms as they have, and therefore they were canceling all reservations for that weekend, and rebooking and we could be put on a waiting list if we desired. Even though we had booked the rooms eight months, yes, 8 months in advance! There were so many inconsistencies in our conversations with them that it became apparent they were lying about what happened. In short, we booked rooms for about $ 75 per night for the weekend in November when the Formula One car race is in town. This is the biggest weekend in the year for Austin. We got the same rate in 2012, the first year of the race in Austin. The town will sell out of rooms for this race. The hotels realized they can charge super high rates and people will pay. Even Motel 6 is now trying to charge $ 125 per night. So, we booked last March for about $ 75 per night. About the same as we paid in 2012. Last Friday, we got an email that stated they had overbooked by twice as many rooms as they had and they were canceling our reservation. They said they were canceling based on when the reservations were made. Hmm… so they had overbooked by last March for a November date? Really? Or, more likely, after they booked up and started a waiting list, they realized what exorbitant rates other hotels were charging(generally 4 – 6 times the normal rates), and that all the people on their waiting list were willing to pay those rates because the city is almost sold out already and very wealthy people are coming from all over the world for this event. So, they decided to create a «computer problem» that caused them to be overbooked by twice as many rooms as they have. Then they could cancel all the reservations that were made a normal rates and immediately rebook the whole hotel at rates above $ 200 per night! How do I know this? Because the hotel was sold out before I could even reply to the email they sent that cancelled our reservation! Sold out of course, with all the people that were on the waiting list! How could it take six months to realize you had a computer error that caused you to sell twice as many rooms as you had? No way possible. This is the biggest hotel chain in the world(Wyndham Hotels) which has a centralized booking system. No way a mistake like that could ever occur, let alone take six months to figure out. Then, they cancelled us they say, based on when we made the reservation. But we made it six months ago! Then they said they were canceling«any and all» of the reservations for that time period. Meaning everybody, although they just said they were canceling based on when people made their reservations. «Why would you cancel all of them?» we said. «You said you were canceling based on when they were made, so the first couple hundred people should still have a room»(which would of course be at super low rates). Then, when we started making a stink, they told us that they had a couple of cancellations and they could offer us a room at $ 199 or more. We said, «Wait, how can you tell us you have cancellations and then offer us a room for three times as much as we just had with you ONEHOUR ago when you sent the email canceling us?! Then they said, «Oh sorry, I said that wrong, we can put you on the waiting list for the $ 199+ rooms.» But why would we go on a waiting list for three times as much. If we were lucky enough to get off your fake waiting list, wouldn’t it be proper to give us the same rate you gave us in the first place? Sorry, we can’t do that they said! So…Days’ Inn in Round Rock, you realize you screwed up and undercharged all the people that made early reservations and that you’ll lose massive amounts of money because of that compared with what other hotels are charging. So you figure… what they heck, lets just cancel anybody who didn’t pay very much and we’ll be able to rebook everything at a way higher rate without a problem because the city will be sold out anyway. What follows is the email exchange, with formatting cleaned up. Please feel free to call the hotel and tell them what you think of their despicable actions. This will be on a seperate review because it exceeds the maximum length for Unilocal

Stayed here on a recent motorcycle tour of the Hill Country. Far enough of away from Austin that the traffic is manageable. Much closer to Bee Cave and Lake Travis than it is to Austin proper. Quiet, clean, and if you ride in, there is plenty of «down and out» parking available. The parking lot is not visible from 35. It is shielded from the street by the office and some shrubs, which also keeps the noise down.
