THEYCLOSED :( went by tonight and saw that they were closed. Took a peak inside… no furniture and a mess. Called the phone number… out of order. POO. This makes me so sad I really liked them, but in the last several months they were always empty. I really liked their chicken. I would get that and a big salad and it would feed my house for less than $ 15. I guess they couldn’t compete with Tu Casa across the street…

Went here late one night after a movie. It is a nice looking place, decorated with warm colors with the usual Peruvian/Mayan symbols on the yellow fauz walls. You can tell it’s afamily run and operated place as they were all there. We were greeted warmly with nice smiles and seated. The food came rather quickly and was fresh and incredibly good! We had a whole chicken(juicy and cooked right with tasty skin) with sides of rice(they brough white instead of yellow, no biggie), tostones(crispy and deliscious albeit it seemed not too many) and chicken empanadas(hot, crispy outside, amazing!). The only criticism to them would be bring out more and all dipping sauces! That’s what makes this eating fun! They didn’t actual bring the hot green sauce with the chicken until I asked. And even then they were almost surprsed I did? Then we asked for more after it was used up and we got kind of a half espresso cup of it, lol. We had no dipping sauce for the tostones which both Pio Pio and Super Pollo make so good in their own ways. So we asked for a garlic sauce for the tostones which they gladly went back and mixed up real quick but what they came out with was some hybrid, out of this earth, intensely concentrated garlic dressing that myself and my son could handle with small dips but my wife tapped out on as it was way too garliky spicy, lol. This sauce was so potent that I could not wash out of my mouth the rest of the night! I mean I used Listerine, flossed twice and brushed twice, ate two brownies, drank a hot coffee, brushed my teeth again and was like«I still taste that garlic sauce!» lol. All in all I they were incredibly nice people with really tasty food and I wouldn’t fault them for the super garlic sauce as it actually was tasty in small amounts,. But I am curious on how they could of got it so spicy, lol!

I always like to try new opened places ! The restaurant needs some up-do’s. But the food I love it ! I ordered fish: oh that green spicy sause made it all! Really like fresh South American food. People are very very nice . Even if sometimes it’s not enough in business, I really like nice people because they are in that establishment.

Great food, friendly staff and right across the street and they deliver so that makes me such a happy camper lol . Glad they came into the area and the pricing is reasonable as well. The roasted chicken is just amazingly good and pretty much i enjoyed everything here. I also ordered the steak with the eggs, rice with beans and maduros which was really good. It can be a bit salty but I’m a salt person so i enjoyed it. They also give you green sauce which is so spicy and i love it and I’m not a big fan of spicy but this i can eat lol. i order from them at least once a week. I Had the sangria its not the best but its better then a few other places i had it from. I enjoy everything from here and i like that they are friendly and they also take credit cards and no delivery minimum unlike some other places in the area which it has to be over 10 dollars so more kudos to them for being awesome

I’m always excited when new restuarants open up in the hood. but this one went fast downhill. There is no way this place will survive. it’s always empty. while everywhere around it has people. Problem number one How stupid are you to open up a spanish restaurant across the street from another spanish restaurant that has a good record of selling fresh, hot, and delicious food. Problem number two Rarely do you find someone who can speak english. that’s a problem if you ask for green sauce and that person has to run and get someone else to translate. lol Final Straw They have a descent lunch special. 10 dollars for appetizer, main meal, and a beverage. I’ve ordered there occasionally but always felt uncomfortable that it was empty. You kinda wonder about the freshness of food. Everything always tasted okay so I tempted fate occasionally. Two weeks ago. i called to order. and I would pick it up. The person answering the phone did not speak English. He told me to hold on a bunch of times. probably to stall. When he finally got back. i tried to give him my order. he mumbled something then hung up. Huh? Okay. maybe there was a bad connection. I wind up going to the place to order. When I placed my order he seemed confused. and kept pointing at the dinner menu. I went back and forth with him for awhile. and said NO the lunch menu. He was still pointing at the dinner menu. then I had to drag him outside. and say… NO. i want the lunch menu that was posted in front of the place… see.10 dollars for appetizer, main meal. and a beverage. We got back inside. and once again. he pointed at the dinner menu. After talking back and forth for about 20 minutes. He went back and cooked my food. Huh. who is this dude? He’s the chef? A chef that doesn’t speak English well and doesn’t know the menu? That should of been my cue to run out of there. While cooking my food he kept peering out at me. and answering his phone.umm.weird. It took forever to get my order because he had trouble writing out the check. He kept looking at the dinner menu again. Ugh. Dude. i showed you the lunch menu?! What the hell is the problem. He added the check and it was 18 dollars. I dragged him back outside to show him the lunch menu. WTH? We got back to the counter and I handed him a twenty. I waited another 10 minutes. while he stared at the check. He handed me 8 dollars. I was like. where is the rest of my change. He told me I actually owed him more money? Huh? He refused to give me my change back and told me I had to wait for someone to come who was late. I snatched my bag and promised myself never to come back. The add insult to injury. the fish that I ordered didn’t taste fresh. Ugh. I can’t wait for this place to close so a real restuarant can take it’s place.

This place is close by and they deliver, so big plus! We ordered a chicken, fried yucca and beans. Overall it was good, but not as good as my fav Pio Pio. The chicken was a bit salty, while the dark meat was juicy, the breast was a little on the dry side, but overall the flavor was good. The beans were so so. The yucca was yummy, but I missed the vinegary sauce that I’ve had at other places. Delivery was very quick and everything came piping hot. Cuzco Peru is a good, cheaper alternative vs the likes of Pio Pio and you can get your fix when needed.

I have been to Peru and have a good idea of what the food should taste like. Their food is good but portions are small and prices are high compared to Pollo Inca on Queens Blvd. Green sauce is way too spicey. However, i love their chicha drink. Purple corn juice. Try it. Service is great and they deliver.

I was wondering if those reviews i read were true… Well i went out to dinner with my family last week and we decided to try this restaurant… Let me tell u something i was surprised… We were 2 adults and 2 kids and everything was under 60(appetizers main courses and desserts). What i really enjoyed was the seafood ceviche, it was extremly delicious, but i fell in love with this restaurant not only because of food, the service was excelent, they were so friendly and they threat u like if u were pary of their family. I mean if wanna try an unique experience with peruvian food, u should go to cuzco peru. You will fins out what i’m talking about.

I’m not very familiar with Peruvian food but compared to others I’ve tried, this restaurant is pretty good and so close to my apartment. The ceviche picante was awesome and I had the fish dish which was delish. The sangria was a bit too sweet for me this time around and the tostones could have been fried a little more but not a deal breaker. The service was very good and friendly. Tu Casa across the street better get their act together because BAM they just got some competition.

the final stop on our UYE this weekend was Cuzco Peru. upon looking at the menu and the interior artwork, I asked if this was owned by the same guys who run the Cuzco Peru in Rego Park. indeed, it is! the quality here is, I am glad to report, just as good as the one in Rego Parkistan. the«Conquistador platter» is a whole roast chicken, rice, beans, salchipapas(fries and hot dogs), and two types of plantains. for $ 28, this is more than enough food for 3 people, so it works out to be a great deal. chicken is soft, flavorful, and the meat just falls right off the bone. service is fast and very attentive. prices are great. if you live in Kew Gardens or are in the area and have a hankering for delicious roast chicken, do not pass go, do not collect $ 200, go straight to Cuzco Peru!

It was 10⁄31. We were the only guests there in the entire place at 7:00pm, granted it was Halloween. First recommendation sit away from the front door during winter or when its really cold. The door does not automatically close so get ready for a freezing blast of cold air. Aside from were we were seated in an empty restaurant… lets discuss the food. We ordered the #3 with the addition of sweet plantains. We also ordered 3 sodas. Total bill was around $ 38 four 2 adults and 2 kids. The canned sodas were $ 2 each so that tacked on an additional $ 6.00) Not bad but we did better at Pollo INCA on Queens Blvd. at $ 30 four a dinner for 4. Now the food(3#): We had a whole chicken(I requested it be cut into smaller pieces that the usual 4. I prefer 8 pieces, it makes it easier to handle for kids. The chicken was very moist and juicy. It was cooked just perfect but the seasoning was a bit too salty. The salt over powered the other spices. The Tostanes were also a bit over salted. The sweet Plantains were perfect in all regards. The salad was very good! The french fries and hot dogs were ok(Inca Pollo actual rocked this one). Just ask to have the hot dogs cooked a bit more than it should be fine. The typical Green Sauce was ok… not as spicy as the previous reviewer indicated but than again I enjoy spicy! Overall, It was a good dining experience. Aside from the lack of napkins, lemon slices, and beginning seated in a freeze zone. I would go again!

After an extended absence from this neighborhood, I arrived back to find that Kew Gardens has indeed caught up with(or fallen less behind) the world, culinarily. Metropolitan Avenue between Lefferts and Union Turnpike is no longer a ghost town, but turning into a strip of restaurants that one might actually want to eat in. This review may not be a big deal to someone familiar with Peruvian, but I was impressed. The Salchipapas were a kind of sausage mixed with french fries and lettuce. Was it high art? No. They were good. The roasted chicken was good as well. It really didn’t have alot of flavor by itself. The star of the show was the very spicy cilantro garlic green sauce for the chicken. The sweet plantains were good, but nothing to write home about. Anywhere else in this the city, this place would merit 3 stars. Here, it is a standout. I agree with Monique R. that the place where it is now has had many restaurants go in and out over the years. I just learned that Cuzco Peru A La Braza is a chain. Go figure… For fans of Breaking Bad — I wonder if Gus Fring is in the kitchen :)

These 5 stars are for sheer joy that there is something delicious a mere steps away from my apartment! My neighborhood is great. I mean, really great people live here but its not the place you move or work near for the food. The food, at best is average. The service isnt great. This particular location where Cuzco Peru just opened up has been cursed. In the 4 years that i have lived here, things were on the verge of opening and never officially opened. When the awning for cuzco peru appeared, i thought it was just more false hope. But they opened. So i went. The menu is similar to a nearby neighborhood restaurant(Tu Casa). The offerings are similar but the prices are slightly more reasonable at Cuzco Peru. Its still new so at dinner time, the place was empty. But i prefer to dine when its slow, there is better service. I decided to order a chicken dish since the reviews for the other location raved about the chicken. for $ 8.50 i got a ¼ chicken, rice and beans, salad, and a side dish(choice of tostones, maduro, or yuca frita). The chicken was perfectly cooked. Deliciously moist and clearly i didn’t order enough of it… The white rice was seasoned and tasted great by itself. The beans, which i usually add salt to were great. They made a tasty vinaigrette for the salad but shredded the ice berg lettuce. Aside from that it was very good. The tostones were everything i wanted. Crispy outside with soft plantain in the center with crystals of salt. I asked for the green sauce.. . fair warning… that shit is Freaking spicy. Spiciest green sauce I have ever had. Definitely coming back to this place. They even have parihuela(fish stew) and i find it very hard to find. The sangria is not great. But everything else is awesome. They take credit cards and there is no delivery minimum. If i were the competition… i would be shitting my pants right now. The waiters at Cuzco Peru are extremely polite unlike some other places in the area.
