Ugh, can’t imagine why this place has such great reviews. Maybe they’re all from winter Texans who obviously don’t know good Tex-Mex. I had a daily lunch special, two enchiladas(one cheese, one beef), along with the usual sides. Very bland. The house made salsa was so hot it was practically inedible. And, as an added bonus, I was treated rudely when I paid my bill. Seriously, go somewhere else if you want *good* Tex-Mex.

**CASHONLY** Tried their special: enchiladas. I couldn’t finish them. Next time I will have to try the large tortillas. Very good.

Excellent food — full of flavor and HUGE servings at very reasonable prices. Daily luncheon specials for under $ 5.00 during the week. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. Good service and their salsa hot sauce is really tasty. Barbacoa taco for $ 6.95 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Incredibly tender and a BIG portion that could easily feed two average people. We will be back often. Highly recommended!

What a phenomenal meal! My husband and I were visiting the area for a wedding and loved the food so much that we went 2 days in a row for lunch. I had the con todo and added chorizo, which was unbelievable. Be sure to get a flour tortilla!

Salsa– extremely flavorful and pretty spicy. So far this is teh only restaurant close to South Padre that I could actually drink the water and it actually taste like water. Chilliquilas huge portion extremely cheesy and spicy. Only complaint was a tad bit too juicy but nothing a tortilla couldn’t take care of. Orange juice comes in a frosted mug which I thought was different. Coffee is good. Now on to the beast of a taco. My hubz ordered a beans, eggs, cheese, and bacon which was the size of a newborn baby and loaded with the fillings. He managed to eat all except some of the extra tortilla. i will definitely be back whenever we visit the area again.

Great place to try homemade flour tortilla tacos. The waiter that helped us was very attentive and friendly. The place seemed a bit small and crowded but the staff found a way to accommodate to everyone’s need. The wait for the food was within minutes. We will definitely come back again!

Well golly gee. How have I never been here? That seems completely crazzzyyy. The breakfast is cheap, the atmosphere is dive bar chic, the place has wifi and the portions are huge.

The locals were spot on with this place, and I encourage everyone to head over here(with cash!) and be prepared for the best breakfast taco you’ve ever had. I chose chorizo, and it exceeded every expectation I had, and many more that I didn’t know that I had. The staff was super helpful and kind. Their hot sauce is divine; grab some to go for $ 5. While the taco could have easily fed three of me, I left not a trace. I was told, by a local patron, that this was impressive. I would personally consider it a crime to leave even a bite, it was so good. Added bonus: they are open at 7am and have decent coffee!

This small place is amazing! The flour tortillas with fajita, or breakfast are huge! The pozole, yummy! We came here twice while we are down in SPI, I wish we had one of these in Austin! Great for kids. You will wait if you come later in the morning or lunch. But it’s worth the wait.

Chips and salsa are really good. Love the tortillas. They’re massive! Not the cleanest place. Service is really nice.

The server/owner just informed us that no lard and no bacon are used when making the beans. I can’t tell you how much that exponentially increases the enjoyment of this meal for a family that does not eat pork. We haven’t even gotten our plates yet. The salsa is hot and flavorful-even Grandma likes it. I can’t wait for our tacos to arrive!

Great atmosphere! Super friendly wait staff, we didn’t have to wait very long to get seated. Plus the food was amazing! I had the flour tortillas, and if you aren’t picky I suggest trying the Con Todo with Chorizo. And don’t forget the salsa! The salsa was what made the meal even better(so glad it was available for purchase as well).

Good breakfast. My mom and aunts had menudo and I had pozole and a chilaquiles plate. They said their menudo was good, my pozole was great. I wish I had gotten more than a cup, only con was it had literally 2 Pozoles. The chilaquiles was good, but got soggy quick and were very spicy(which I didn’t mind). Different places make it different, I think egg would’ve complimented it well but it was just taco strips with cheese and salsa over it. Overall I would say a yes, but $ 40 for 3 ½ bowls of soup and a plate is ridiculous.

What can I say, this place never disappoints. We brought our friends and they all thought we where pulling their legs at how big the burritos where. Their eyes widened as the plates got closer to the table. One has the pancakes and they where just ask big. I left sooner then my husband and friend and they went back before leaving because they liked it that much. Great food and great value. It’s family owned and operated and they are always fast and friendly.

This place is about as close to a religious tex-mex experience as you can get. I had a giant ground beef, cheese, and avocado burrito just slothered in sauce. The homemade tortilla it came rolled in was so perfect. Slightly spongy, but also a bit crispy. It was everything I thought a burrito can be. It’s also just a cute little local joint.

I was a bit disappointed in this place. Yes the tacos are huge, but for almost $ 20 for a steak and shrimp taco, it better be big. It is probably big for one, but not enough to share for two. Food was just okay, nothing special. I am not a fan of how they leave open salsa bowls on the table, it isn’t served fresh, it was already on the table. Service was okay, a bit on the pushy side. If your looking for some authentic Mexican, I suggest you cross the border!

I had the Breakfast taco here on my first morning of vacation on South Padre Island and returned every day that they were opened to try something else. I was bummed that they were closed on Monday. Great Breakfast specials everyday with more on weekends. Good coffee to go with your Huevos Rancheros. The homemade(manhole size) tortilla is delish, definitely not a store bought deal. Big enough to share. You gotta try the Breakfast Taco, it has just the right amounts of every ingredient so as not to over power the taste. Def my fav. I wish this place was right down the street. I’m jonesing for one right now. Say Hi to Frank for me, he’s a Duck fan and was bummed that they got crushed by Ohio State.
