Unfortunately, out of business. Broken window, looks like it has been closed for quite a while.

As usual, I enjoy searching for small little joints where the focus is on excellent food rather than the tourist traps producing mediocre food. Thanks Fellow Unilocalers! We just had a wonderful dinner at this place. My only advice is come with your own beverages if you want soda or alcohol. The owner coming from a long family line of restauranteurs, is truly passionate about good food and it shows. The signature flounder dish was perfectly prepared, fresh and light, bursting with flavor. It quite honestly is the best fish dish you will get in this area and it is cheaper than those other«Seafood» establishments in SPI to boot. My kids had the chicken kabobs, they were so tasty I had to steal a few bites while they weren’t looking :). I have no doubt whatever is cooked up on the menu will be fresh and tasty. This place is tucked right across from the Port Isabel Lighthouse. It’s small and quaint slight off the main road, but it is worth the short trip off the island to get a good healthy fresh meal. Hopefully«word of mouth» will help keep traffic coming to this new little jewel of a restaurant.

We love SPI. The beach is beautiful, water is cool, you can relax in the island breezes and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. All of these elements combine to provide a nice way to decompress — away from the hustle and bustle of daily ‘city life’ that many of us live. What confuses me about the beach sometimes is how people will flock like lemmings to kitchy, mammoth(and mediocre) 3 star establishments –when there gems like Lighthouse Grill to be explored and enjoyed. I may be repeating what a few reviewers aptly said before me, but here is a quick list of things we enjoyed about our 4 ½ star Lighthouse grill experience; — Shop Local! Mark is the owner who is a local who’s passion for cooking/eating healthy is evident both when you meet him and in how he cooks, — Small intimate place — yet green and breezy. Misters help keep the heat and the drought at bay(…you see what I did there… hahaha) and the courtyard is tropical and well shaded, — Personalized service is attentive, but not overbearing. We were here at 5:15 on a Saturday — so we enjoyed a crowdless meal and a few conversations with the owner — which was a nice touch, — aguas frescas were canteloupe and watermelon; They were made fresh and were frothy and refreshing, — reasonable prices. My wife had the Shrimp kabob(w/rice & large dinner salad $ 10) and I had the Surf/Turf(thin ribeye+2 flounder filets w/rice & large dinner salad $ 12.50). — Good, healthy food; The dinner salads were a nice, crunchy combination of fresh greens, chopped green/yellow squash, sliced tomatoes and strawberries w/pine nuts and sunflower seeds. We chose the homemade raspberry vinagarette which worked well to compliment the fresh veggies and fruit. The kabob held prawns that were suprisingly well sized and contained other assorted grilled veggies. My Surf & Turf plate(which had a thin ribeye(cooked rare as ordered!) + flounder filets) actually arrived with an extra ½ grilled chicken breast with a light bbq sauce. The flounder was tasty and was accompanied by a few grilled scallions/mushrooms for added flair. I did not leave a trace of the steak or the fish, but simply could not finish the chicken. This place has been here for only 7 months, so let’s do our Unilocaling best NOW to support this local gem and Unilocal ITUP — or it might just be replaced with another chain — which we do NOT need in this world. We have a passion for supporting small, locally owned businesses, and if you do too — do yourself a favor and check out the Lighthouse Grill. You will not be disappointed! PROTIP; Be prepared; They only take CASH and are BYOB — so bring your cooler and your friends!

Amazing all around! I had the flounder in a white wine cream sauce, a house salad with all the fixings dressed in homemade creamy poppyseed, and a fresh fruit cantaloupe juice to drink. The owner seated us, served us, and made the food. Very cozy atmosphere, you’ll feel like you’re at home. And, it’s inexpensive!

Excellent atmosphere… I felt like I had gone home. Great vibes from the moment I saw the place until the time I walked away.(which was very hard to do.) I ate the pork kabobs with a house salad. The kabobs were amazing and they pulled no stops on any of the food. The salad had the home made raspberry vinaigrette. I would recommend this place a million times and more. The owner says it is his passion and I believe it. He is the chef, waiter and everything else. He has the skills of a cooking God. The prices were great… I can’t say enough great things about this place, yet I’m speechless. All I can say is give this place a chance to make your tongue dance in flavor and satisfaction. 5 Stars.

Excellent food — small restaurant just under the Port Isabel lighthouse. Fresh seafood caught by the owner’s family members. BYOB or sample fresh local fruit juice. Had the flounder — tender, flaky and super tasty.
