If this is the place I’m thinking, it was awesome!!! They have a lamb/ground beef burger! The place I went to just said Burger Shack. Either way, super great service. 5 stars all around! !!

I can’t believe I hadn’t reviewed this place yet. Their burgers were amazing! I had their everything-but-the-kitchen-sink burger and was more than satisfied. So yummy! My friend swears by this place and says she makes sure to stop by whenever she’s in the area. The only thing is that they only took cash, but they did have an ATM machine there, so there’s that. It’s a really small, unassuming, ultra casual place. It’s a perfect stop when driving home from the beach

It was raining a bit while we were there but plenty of covered seating. My husband had a burger and I had the nachos. Burger was great; nachos were good but need retried beans or queso so not so dry. Atmosphere was great. Staff was friendly.

Okay… I’m not fancy or hard to please by any means. I think the burger patty and bread was pretty good. I would have maybe liked fresher ingredients for a 10 dollar plus burger. Seeing a giant can of artichokes through the kitchen window sort of lost me. I think the beer selection was pretty weak and kind of expensive for domestic cans. Service was slow… more than«island time» slow, but at least the guy was friendly. The horrendous country music was blaring. A bunch of little things added up to a ‘meh’ experience and overall was kind of spendy for what I got.

Enjoyed a nice, tasty burger at this place. Would come back. Food Burger selection is nice and meat patties are thick and juicy. Fries are good, but not wow. Something for everyone, including vegetarians. Burger was very filling. Place Laid back atmosphere and funky décor. Seating outside is relaxing. Service Service was good. This is not a fast food place, so not sure why some reviewers complained of slow service. This is not McDonalds. Tips Bring cash. This is a cash only place. Explore the area and it shops and the pier next to it.

Had the #3SPI burger. Loaded with spinach, artichoke hearts, and feta cheese. Prepared medium rare as requested. Burger came with soft, steamed buns and seasoned fries. Fried pickle appetizer is homemade and cut thick — not those wimpy, dried, over fried pickles elsewhere. Gyro sandwich had thick slabs of ground lamb served on soft pita bread with tasty homemade tzatziki sauce. A must stop!

Found this joint on Unilocal and OMG! I had the lamb burger while my friend had the #9 Egg-Me-On(1⁄3 pound of beef with a fried egg). BESTBURGERSWE’VEEVERHAD! Don’t let the«dive bar» façade fool you. The food is AMAZING! The service was also fantastic. The guy at the grill was great.

Good things: Very friendly, attentive waitress. Really good salsa. Not great: Burger was just so-so, a bit dry. Bad: No heads up about the $ 1.50 charge for water. Had I realized, I would have just ordered iced tea or something. Another up charge to split an already expensive burger. Giving the three stars for the salsa.

Service was very good. Fries really good. Burgers were ok. Not memorable. Not juicy. Very dry. But flavor was good. Maybe an off night. I would give them another shot just to see if it was an off night. Bun was toasted nicely. I say try it but don’t get your hopes up to much on the burger.

I really wanted to be impressed. I loved the atmosphere, the theme, & just serving burgers– Genius but sadly the burgers weren’t genius. You can’t be rely on good ideas & a funky atmosphere, you have to deliver on the products escipicially if that’s the only product your offering ! I ordered the blue burger, now maybe they were out of blue cheese & didn’t think I’d notice that it was actually Swiss but I did. You can’t miss that pungent wonderful bite of blue cheese & certainly not think Swiss could replace it. The burger itself wasn’t bad quality meat but it wasn’t seasoned & I mean at all! The fries were ok but I was really hoping for a delicious burger. Nice atmosphere but until they can meet the expectations that even their menu sets out I would say try another place.

By far the best food during our recent trip to South Padre was had right here at Will and Jack’s! Fantastic variety in an air conditioned oasis at a reasonable price. Go there. Really.

I am a self proclaimed burgeraholic and therefore have to visit a burger joint wherever we travel. Instantly, I loved the feel of the place. It’s been described here as an island burger shack. After roaming the place for a good spot to plop down we decided to sit up front to enjoy the cool evening ocean breeze and people watch the passersby. We were greeted with friendly salutations from the all the staff and served quickly. About the burger… delicious and juicy. One of the best I’ve ever had. The fries were nicely seasoned and crispy but not greasy. The staff were friendly and offered some great tourist tips. I rolled out of there and waddled back to my hotel completely satisfied with my meal. Highly recommend!

We noticed this place the other day while walking around and shopping. My husband and I both commented about how great the food smelled. So yesterday we stopped by and had dinner. The sitting outside was comfortable, they also have inside dining with A/C. We all had half pound cheese burgers, which were so juicy and delicious. Our burgers were served with seasoned fries. This is defiantly a hidden Gem. If you want a very good and juicy burger; then try this place. Ps: Please bring some CASH! They do not accept CREDITCARDS or CHECKS…

Great burger! Very juicy and delicious! This place is a hidden gem. It’s mixed in with the market type shops next to the old light house! The burgers are big and come with fries. There is outdoor seating that is very comfortable but they also have a air conditioned dining room if you need a/c. We sat outside around 5pm and it wasn’t bad. Highly recommend this place!

Had the Dillinger Burger, great. Really impressed with the buns, found out they were bread rolls purchased at Walmart! This is a great laid-back burger shack and beer place, prices very reasonable, friendly and efficient staff, across the street from the Lighthouse. Recommended.

The burger was really good. We also enjoyed the fries which were seasoned. I was disappointed in the small selection of beers and the fact that none were on tap as this place calls itself a beer garden. They are also cash only and they charge a dollar for split plates. Luckily I read on a Unilocal review that they didn’t take credit cards, so we had cash on hand. I’ve known a few places that done take credit cards and generally felt that they were so good they could avoid taking them because their customers would just come anyway despite the inconvenience. I don’t think this place meets that standard.

Gotta admit, this is one time when I didn’t agree with most Unilocal reviews. We were pressed for time and were looking for a spot to grab lunch before our 1:00 tour we had signed up for. We picked this place because a burger sounded good and because it was convenient to the location we needed to be at(or so we thought). I ordered the Ralph burger and hubby ordered the La Cubano. We both loved our burgers, they were cooked perfectly and were juicy — and yes a bit greasy but isn’t that what a good burger is all about? The fries were good and crispy. I really have to mention the service here. We thought were were within walking distance of where our tour began but it turns out we were on the wrong side of the bridge, which put us really short on time. When we explained our concerns about time they really went out of the way to get our food out quickly. They even let my husband pay the bill before the meal was even brought out. It was a beautiful sunny day and the patio area out back is very chill. I could see us kicking back, relaxing and enjoying the tunes with a burger and a beer next time we are in the area. Oh, and we made it to our tour with 3 minutes to spare! :)

My Husband and I were looking for somewhere chill to grab a good bite to eat and watch the football game. We walked to the shack and weren’t sure if we were in the right place, the waitress walked us to the air conditioned«shack». We ordered fried pickles and the chips and salsa. Both were really good. They have a nice selection of burgers. My husband got the«420 stoner burger» it has everything on it and I had the bacon, cheese, and egg burger. Both were delicious! The bread was amazing. The meat itself could have used a little more flavoring and maybe a higher grade of meat, but overall it was one of the best burgers we had in the area. We hung out in the shack and drank beer with Fez and Sunshine for several hours. And our waitress was very attentive and sweet. We would definitely recommend it to others and will definitely be back!
