Very solid place! We came upon this place following a poor experience at that Fisherman place. This restaurant is a little hole in the wall composed of two rooms. We were directed to sit where we like. The décor is nothing fancy, rather plain actually. We were soon greeted by a friendly gentleman who took our drink orders. After a few minutes of browsing the menu, we both ordered the breakfast taco, mine with bacon and his with sausage. We got the TODO on them as well which means that it comes with everything. They did not disappoint. Both tacos were pretty massive. They were filled with scrumptious scrambled eggs, potatoes, meats, cheese, and other little delights. I rolled mine into a large burrito. They also serve a little bottle of home made salsa. This salsa was prepared by the Angels themselves as it was the most glorious I’ve had in some time. It has an absolutely wonderful flavor with just the right amount of spice. We demolished about half a bottle. On the way out I bought one of their oatmeal cookies which are also wonderful. We left very content, but not overfull. Overall, a fantastic little place to eat. All for a very modest amount of money. Each taco was only about $ 6.00. For the size, it was well worth it. Definitely would visit again.

This place is full of personality and the food is good. Looks like its been here forever. Full of locals chasing up each other. We had breakfast, migas and a bean and cheese taco. The floor tortillas are home made and thin, the way I like them. Excellent beans. Impressive how spotless the place is. It’s full of photos and kitsch, so one feels like they’re in a home of a family member. They advertise they’re love of Jesus all over the place, which is the only off putting thing about the experience.

Not a big extravagant building but the food! We all got breakfast tacos except for one of us who got cheese enchiladas. We got the Breakfast Contada tacos. They included eggs, cheese, potatoes and your choice of meat(sausage, chorizo, or bacon) on a home made tortilla. We got one of each meat and they were all delicious! We also tried a butter tortilla and bean tortilla. Delicious!!! The enchiladas were fantastic as well. Couldn’t get enough. Our server was hilarious! Can’t wait to go back.

Came to this mexican restaurant today since Dennys at the island was closed for remodeling! We got here and the place was packed. We finally got our table and we ordered! I got the large flour tortilla with everything on it! My kids got the pancakes. When our food arrived it looked amazing homemade! Food tasted spectacular with awesome taste. Prices are descent and affordable, definitely recommend this place!

Leaving the island everything was packed to the brim, so we decided to wait until we got a little bit away from the hubbub and find something that seemed a little more calm. I was abel to spot this little gem on Unilocal and decided to give it a try, plus I was really craving a Mexican breakfast. I was very delighted when I saw how affordable everything was, especially since only one of us had cash and the restaurant was currently not accepting debit cards, so we had to be conservative with our orders… not necessary! I ordered the machacado con huevo with refried beans. When it came out, my eggs were cooked a tad overdone– which is exactly how I like them! The beans were a little runny, but I am assuming due to our proximity to the border, that possible they are meant to be like that, and regardless they were still delicious. However, it was the tortilla that really tied everything together! If I go back to South Padre again, I will come here strictly for tortillas, if nothing else!

Very disappointed, came here because of the good reviews and Facebook recommendations. The tacos were big but nothing in them! 90% tortilla and the little food in it was really bland. This is will be my one and only trip here. It’s truely quantity vs quality

Isabel’s Café has been there furrrrever. Though we were always a Fisherman’s or White Sands family, Isabel’s is a solid staple. They do a solid salsa, a giant taco(no srsly, giant) and have great service both times I’ve been. Though our last experience wasn’t my favorite, they do breakfast all day every day and it’s cheap, fast and good. Giant tacos are a staple of the PI crowd and this place delivers a Con Todo that’s really con todo.

Delicious and very reasonably priced. Hubby and I payed $ 15 for a Contodo breakfast taco(huge and filling), Huevos Rancheros, side of potatoes, coffee, and two iced teas. It’s to bad we went on the last day of our vacation because had we know about this place we would have avoided the other over priced Mexican restaurants. This is the place to go for tasty authentic food.

This is a true 5 star gem. If you want homemade breakfast tacos as big as your noggin get a contodo taco which if you lack Spanish ability means with everything. Seven dollars and your stomach will do a dance. The place is very clean but simple inside. Arrive early on weekends as people lined up picking up tacos to go as well as sit down. They also have fresh cookies at the counter. I eat here maybe every 20 days as a treat.

Still my go to place for good Migas, Con Todo or Mexican plate for lunch. Not fancy and some from«the big city» would call it a dive. It’s clean, friendly, loud, busy, not fancy but I wouldn’t change a thing. Isabel’s place is definitely worth the wait. Get’s my top Yummo rating!

Food tasted pretty good, love the huge fresh tortillas. Here come the, BUT, the wait was long and the thing that killed it for me was the house roach crawling on my table, I can only imagine what’s hiding inside the kitchen.

Gees, hate to be the skunk at the picnic here, but we really weren’t impressed with Isabel’s. The best thing by far was the homemade tortillas that we had with butter for an appetizer. The combo plates with tacos, enchiladas, and chalupas were absolutely forgettable. Underseasoned, bland, blaaaaah. I was really let down on this one!

Awesome service! Walked in unknowingly at closing time and was still greeted with a smile. Huge homemade tortillas and delicious carne guisada. Very friendly staff. Will return for breakfast ASAP

So delicious, we had to go back a second time during our trip to SPI2 weeks ago. We first tried this place last year, and it was amazing then. I can only speak for the breakfast, but the food was delicious, authentic and included the best flour tortillas I have ever had.

Go go Goooo! Cute lil mom and shop, frequented by locals mostly. If you like the homey feel and some awesome simple food, head out there. We ordered sausages and Omelettes-which were just omelettes but so yummmm! We had to wait as it seems like one of those busy places, but it was worth it. The prices were very very reasonable too.
