This place is definitely based off of quantity, and not so much on the quality. You get a lot for a few dollars, but don’t expect it to taste like a 5 star restaurant. We ordered: Chili cheese fries with asada: The lady misheard us and gave us two! Giant portions… filled the whole plate and was ooey gooey with some slimy chili(corn starch laden or something to make it thick yuck) and a ton of well cooked, borderline dry and very salty asada. Neither my bf nor my buddy(who just worked out) could finish their plates. It was good enough to keep munching, but nothing to die for. Menudo: Okay, I’m spoiled by my bestie’s abuela’s cooking, and I was blown away by the one at Luminaria’s – both which are either priceless or just on the pricier side. This one was rather plain, though still good once spiced up with the toppings. I got the large(I LOVE menudo) and it came filled almost completely with tripas yum yum! The tripas, however, did not taste fresh or have that quality of tripas I’m accustomed to(it was actually kinda a weird meaty texture?) which made me question what I was eating. Horchata: Watered down :(Not the flavorful, creamy horchata I’m used to having. Overall, the food quality is pretty much a 1 star, but the cheap prices and quantity bumps it up to 2. To be completely honest, I’d probably come here again when my wallet is hurting and I just need a lot of food in my belly, regardless of how it tastes.

Everything I have tried is always good. They will go out of their way to make sure you are happy with your food. The cooks, staff and owner Rita are wonderful and make it seem like a family. This place is always busy. If you don’t want to wait, you can call in your order and it will be just about ready when you walk in. I have gone to other places and it is a hit and miss even if you order the same thing. Not here. The menu is extensive.

I came here today to have breakfast with my family my father had sausage and eggs potatoes under cooked sausage way overcooked and the toast had no butter chicken strips for my daughter Way over breaded and the ranch was just generic right out of container my breakfast also sausage and eggs over easy it was more like over hard of the potatoes once again under cooked if you look at my photos you will see a slice of tomato that’s pretty much half a tomato and wilted lettuce on a poorly prepared hamburger.

Troy is just like every other burger stand in LA. I don’t know if it’s just me the prices at these places have skyrocketed and the quality has went down. Ordered breakfast burritos with everything in them and when I receive my food it was all potato and egg and just a little bit of meat. If I’m getting charge for bacon ham and sausage I like to see that those ingredients are in there. Got to come back and try to burgers hopefully they’re better.

I love this place! Food is always fresh. The employees and owners are very nice. I haven’t had anything here I didn’t like. Breakfast: try the chilequeles or the French toast Lunch: bean and cheese burrito is yummy, chicken salad is huge with fresh chicken breast. I’ve never been disappointed here.

You can’t come here and expect to eat healthy! lol seriously people! I love this place being from El Sereno I grew up on this place. Since high school me and my friends always ate here and hung out here. I love the hamburger special. Chili cheese fries are awesome. I also love their mushrooms with ranch. The breakfast special is huge two people can definitely eat from one. Their pancakes are huge big portions and affordable. Me and my family’s favorite burger spots in our area.

Barely a 3-star. Prices are okay and food is so-so. Worse though, restaurant is unkept, lots of vandalism, and wait can be pretty long. Plenty of better choices.

Me and Conor were really really hungry when like an oasis of jersey Christmas greasy spoon memories appeared on the horizon. Oh lovely sexy pancake heaven !!! Troys is like a jersey diner in LA, for just as cheap ! Great staff and arcade games !

This is a typical local burger joint that is always busy! Our favorites are the bacon avocado cheeseburger, the fried mushrooms and the chicken dinner. Usually everything is prepared quick and taste is on point except for the one time they gave me the worst pieces of chicken ever. It was more like a chicken bone dinner. I immediately took my plate back and they exchanged without a problem… Mushrooms are delicious and juicy and their burgers are pretty great! All in all a good spot when you’re craving some nice greasy food.

Every time I come here, I get the cheeseburger special and it never seems to disappoint me. I love their thousand island dressing, it’s so good! I also tried the Chicken Dinner, and it wasn’t all that great. But that was just me.

I’ve never seen a menu this long before! They have from breakfast to burgers to burritos to salads. A bit of the«jack of all trades» sort of restaurant. My friends and I got chicken salads. First thing to note was that the portions were HUGE. I wouldn’t say this was a healthy go-to sort of salad. It was layered in cheese, came with a boiled egg, and a heavy ranch dressing. Lot of food for the appox $ 6 for the salad, but it was average in quality and not so healthy.

I go to Troy ’ s pretty often since it is local. I love the seasoned fries they have. Extremely delicious, it may be too much if you don’t like salts. The only reason why I’m missing a star is because they have messed up my order I have called in a couple of times. But, I go back and they fix my order no questions asked. Yes it’s not too easy on the eyes but with a high school and middle school down the street and the fact that large crowds of students rush in… how can you not expect etching/graffiti. Some seats can be more comfortable but. . Still a great place nonetheless.

I was just at one of my favorite Restaurant to eat at. I went with my brother and sister late at night around 10pm. The employees are so nice and have great customer service. The good is great and very affordable. I highly recommend to get a bacon cheese burger and chilli cheese fries.

There’s no In n Out Burger in the area, if there was they would put Troy’s out of business overnight. In n Out does everything better. The French Fries here are previously frozen and consequently soggy, they slop way too much thousand island dressing on the burgers, the side salads are pathetic, the cashier I see doesn’t speak Spanish so I have to order for my guests, I much rather they order direct and get exactly what they want without my interference. The bathroom alone is reason for the health department to shut this place down permanently. All the candy dispensers don’t set the right mood for me.

All I can say is, yuck. Do not, ever order their taquitos plate. Inside, is NOT shredded meat, but an ugly little rolled up brown bologna. On the other hand, their breakfast is decent. I’ve had it more than once.

Consistently good, greasy, heavy, clogged arteries food. They have good breakfast burritos, burgers, chili cheese fries(add onion). Pastrami quesadilla is heavy but pretty good if you share with someone. Make sure you end the meal with a nice soft serve cone.
