Same as others have written sushi murasaki was too busy so my wife and I got a table in adjoining Orient On Main. Food was good but service was quite bad. Staff seemed in experienced and overwhelmed. Had to ask three times for my sake. They’ll be ok when they get servicing worked out.

The place is on Main Street in Greenville which has a lot of competition, but it’s ambience invitation made us want to eat there. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress and she did a very good job taking care of us. My main gripe, if you will, of the restaurant is that the tables need to be replaced. The tables are wooden with a stain material that has become old and sticky making you think the tables are dirty. I see this from time to time and it is probably because the tabletops of been treated with chemicals for so long at the sealant has become sticky. The food was good. The rice was just OK. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very nice. The prices are about what you would expect to eat on Main Street in Greenville. I liked that they did not charge me a dollar extra for the fried rice but, the fried rice was somewhat of a let down.

There are great places to eat in downtown Greenville. Unfortunately, this isn’t one. It used to be very good but over the past year has really gone down. I try to give every place the chance to have an «off» day but after today, I’m done with this place. Food was poorer in quality and the server didn’t bring the soup and salad and still charged me the full price for the entrée alone. Service was also very slow. I still left a good tip — don’t like to reciprocate poor treatment. It’s a shame. This used to be a regular lunch hangout with great food.

Wifey and I went out with friends this evening and decided on sushi. We went into Murasaki but they were so busy, they pointed us to the connecting restaurant, Orient on Main. While Murasaki is more Japanese cuisine, Orient on Main is more of a fusion Asian restaurant with hibachi. Once inside, you become saturated in that hibachi smoke. It is noticeably louder than Murasaki as well. Once seated, we found our waitress was not quite prepared for the number of patrons. When I pointed to the cold sake that I wanted, she seemed to have understood what I said. My surprise was to find that she brought a hot sake and then told me that this is the only sake they have. Now the menu has about 8 – 11 choices of both hot and cold sake, so for that number to be shaved down to one lone sake is ridiculous. I had the ocean breeze and Genji sushi rolls which were fairly tasty. Wifey have the veggie sushi and veggie steamed Gyoza dumplings, which she enjoyed. However once again our server make the meal less enjoyable. I am still halfway into my meal when she drops off the checks without anyone asking. I am finishing my last bite when she comes back to the tables and asks us to take care of the bill! No offer of more food, drinks, or dessert ever! Our friends with us were as shocked and annoyed. The food is a solid 4 stars, but the service was just lacking, hence the reduction to 2 stars. Hopefully this can improve

Saw all the reviews so I thought I’d pop in and order a quick to-go order, big mistake !! One order of house lo-mein took almost 30 minutes and paid almost 10.00 for it, and when they brought it out, I couldn’t believe that the container wasn’t even half full! Definitely won’t order from them again… ever!

Went here for lunch by myself — sat at the grill bar and enjoyed the show while I caught up on my emails. The service was very from Geoffrey. The General Tso’s chicken was some of the best as was the egg roll. The price was also very good with a good quantity. Yum — I’ll be back often.

We only ordered sushi… Which I guess came from next door at the sushi restaurant but it was extremely good. I don’t usually like tuna rolls but I could have eaten them all after I had one… delicious. Sat by the window and enjoyed people watching.

I’ve asked them to burn my mouth twice with no luck. Don’t go here if you like spicy food.

Stopped here for dinner on our last night visiting Greenville and was not disappointed. Sushi was great, try the Krazy Boy. The curry chicken was delicious as well as the hibachi chicken. Great atmosphere. Great food. Great service. Highly recommended.

We were visiting Greenville for the day and needed some lunch. We had not had Asian food in a while, so we chose The Orient. It had a strange smell upon entering, but we had an appointment that afternoon and wanted to maximize our time. The hostess/waitress was still setting up for lunch, but she was gracious and friendly. She asked us if we wanted a glass of wine or a beer. This was a pleasantly surprising offer; we thought that one could not order alcoholic beverages in Greenville on Sunday. I chose Eve Chardonnay. It was ok and had a reasonable price tag. We chose our entrees and were offered a choice of egg rolls, spring rolls or summer rolls. My husband chose the egg roll, which he said was pretty good. I picked the summer roll. It was a bit bland and the accompanying sauce didn’t have much flavor either. We were given duck sauce and hot mustard to jazz up the taste. My husband got the broccoli tofu. I was the lucky recipient of all of his water chestnuts since he doesn’t care for them. The broccoli was perfectly cooked in the yummy sauce. I chose General Tso’s tofu. I was having a flashback regarding a Chinese restaurant in the old Midtown Square Mall in Charlotte that served the best General Tso’s chicken, and I wanted to have that moment with tofu. I probably should have chosen a dish that was more vegetable heavy; this dish only contained tofu and two yummy pieces of raw broccoli. The sauce was decent, but it needed more heat. Our waitress brought siracha, and all was good. The tofu was mildly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The accompanying fried rice was excellent. The music was quite enjoyable. They played mostly classics. Initially, it came on very loud, but the waitress noticed this and adjusted the volume. Our first visit to Greenville was quite enjoyable!

We were initially suppose to be seated in Sushi Murasaki but since we were a larger party(9 people), they instructed us to walk to this connecting restaurant. I had no expectations for sushi in South Carolina, but I was blown away by how fresh it was. It would definitely beat out some other sushi restaurants in Atlanta. For appetizer, I went with edamame, which is the same everywhere. I received a good sized portion that could have been shared. For entrée, I went with the Aquarium roll, which featured salmon, tuna, shrimp, yellow tail, eel, crab stick, and avocado from what I can recall. It literally featured every main fish. Perfect for someone who loves seafood but indecisive and don’t just want to pick one. It was SO good. Each fish piece was very generously sliced and melt-in-your-mouth fresh. I saw several other patrons had sashimi boats that beautifully featured slices of very fresh looking pieces. My mouth was watering. Highly recommended. Due to my company, I did not really notice how long our food took to come out until we were leaving and it was much later than I thought. I would say it took roughly 30+ minutes for food to come out. We also had several minutes in between of waiting for each sections food to come out. Given how great the food was, I can tolerate that for a large group. Service was very swift and they did a great job of making sure drinks were filled. This is my first restaurant experience in Greenville and it left me excited to try out some of the other establishments within this area.

I choices are great the inside is clean and neat but there is something missing, but I can put my finger on it. The food came out in a timely manner and everyone was great a little overpriced compared to the competition but I we will definitely be back.

Had high expectations since Greenville is abundant with high end fantastic restaurants. We were sadly disappointed. The atmosphere where we were seated felt like a basememt cafeteria. The beef broth soup was cold and tasted like a watered down canned broth. The fried rice and vegetables were stone cold(you could see they were cooked and plated long before the meat). The manager came by but only took away the empty glasses. If you want to eat cafeteria food that is cold and slapped on a plate, this is the place for you. Otherwise, go to one of the dozens of other restuarants in Greenville.

Not bad Chinese food, not greasy and good portions. Sushi was ok but nothing special. There are definitely better sushi places in the area I would go to first.

I have heard a lot about his restaurant, so I was excited to eat here. Sadly though, Orient was not worth the wait. The server was inattentive and just downright atrocious. Orders went to the wrong people, drinks were not refilled, and he got the bills wrong after being told three times what went where. As far as the atmosphere, it was different, but in a good way. Seating was prompt, it wasn’t loud, and I was put at ease immediately. The downside is there were fruit flies flitting around our table. The food was decent but he portions were tiny; certainly not worth their price tag. I will never eat here again and I would encourage others to go somewhere else.

5 Stars for a quick lunch meal. Not a fancy, upscale restaurant, but to grab a quick(not fast food) lunch, this place is great. Service was fast, extremely polite. Not very loud/noisy. Food was excellent and has medium to large portions. I’ll definitely go back.

We came in here after seeing a sign for tuna hibachi outside. We were expecting the same set-up as every other hibachi place ever. But instead we were confronted with a hibachi bar. A long counter, 8 seats, and a double-long hibachi grill. We sat down and ordered, and within 15 minutes the chef came out, whipped up some soy-drenched veggies and carbs, and left. No show whatsoever. Which is perfect, as far as I’m concerned. I just want fresh fried rice and seared tuna… I don’t need to see an onion mountain lit on fire while knives are thrown in the air. I want food. The tuna was high quality– maybe not sushi quality but very yummy. It was drenched in teriyaki sauce though which was unnecessary. The veggies were super fresh and the fried rice was ok. My only complaint was the soup, which should be miso but was instead super salty wonton soup broth. Good, inexpensive hibachi is pretty hard to find, and I wouldn’t hesitate to come here again.
