Friendly staff. Actually the hostess was on her phone when I walked in and continued to be on it for 10 more seconds before greeting me. Got sautéed mixed vegetables. It’s ok. Not too much flavor. Paid 2 extra dollars for tofu, but they barely gave me any. Won’t be back.

I have been dining at Red Bowl at least once a week for the past year because it is my favorite spot in Greenville. I’ve had nothing but good experiences and amazing food. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars and not 5 is because LAST time I went, our waitress Bryn(who I had never been placed with before) was a bit rude. Later come to find out, my friend overheard her and the hostess talking negatively about me! When she heard my friend tell me, she said«Did I miss something, is there a problem? «Rude. It’s making it a bit uncomfortable for me to want to return but I just don’t want to shake the habit! But as I said before, I’ve had nothing but pleasant experiences up until that point. I’ll just ask not to be seated in her section next time :)

This place was pretty good. The food came out hot! I had the spicy tangerine chicken. It wasn’t spicy at all but that’s okay. One thing I didn’t like was the long wait but that could have been because we are having a big family gathering there for a birthday. I will definitely go here again!

Really enjoyed the food there. I got a bento box special with sesame chicken. The food came out fast and tasted great! We had a big family gathering so it took them awhile to get us seated. But it wasn’t too long, took around 30 minutes.

A solid 4 stars. I have been eating here for a while. The sushi is pretty good, love a good bento box and am happy with their soups and salads. Entrees aren’t awesome but happy hour sushi is on point!

This time was much better than the last. Our food was great, served quickly and very generous portions. Our server, Rhiannon, did a phenomenal job. I’ll be back.

Delicious squid salad. Decent sushi. Deplorable service. Despite the food being decent for for the price, it was the service from Rhiannon that left a bad taste in our mouths. She was very transactional and it was evident she didn’t want to be there. I regret suggesting to my brother, who just returned home from deployment in Afghanistan, to dine here. Suggestion to Mgt: coach servers and host(ess) to offer basic customer service skills like saying«hello». Hindsight is 20⁄20.

Stopped by today, Xmas and it was really good. The service, the food and most of all the whole experience of eating out and finding a cozy spot on Christmas Day… Our food was good, not pricey and service with a smile. We will return.

Just don’t…really… To say that the service was bad would be giving them too much credit. 40 minutes into waiting for our food and not seeing our waitress, I spoke to the hostess and let her know that we could no longer wait but would like to take our food to go. She said that she would speak to the kitchen people and get our food bagged up. A few more minutes go by and nothing. I asked her again how long it would take and she said that they had just placed the order? She said she would check and spoke with her«manager» about the situation. Manager Fantastic gave her some info I guess to deliver to us. She told us that we would not be able to have the half price sushi due to us carrying the food out of the building. No apologies, nothing in the way of a conversation or a discussion nothing. Oh, forgot that when we asked to pay for the lemonade for my daughter and my beverage they said that was on them. That’s a great way to make a customer feel appreciated, ignore them, treat them poorly, give them multiple stories and them reward them with a free lemonade! Oh thank you Brown Bowl, you and your staff are the best! Can’t wait to come back!

The sushi were so gross! We went during their happy hour(half off sushi) and we didn’t even think it worth that price. Will not go back

We stopped by the mall this morning just at opening to meet up with someone else for something that had nothing to do with the mall, haha. However, we decided to go inside and get a bite to eat. After wasting the first HOUR trying to figure out where to go we chose Red Bowl. The hostess(there were two, but only one decided to do her job) was less than thrilled to have people in right at opening which I suppose is understandable. On the way through the restaurant to the front desk they had just mopped the floor which is not a complaint other than the fact that the restaurant has mood lighting which isn’t very bright and we had no idea the floor was wet. I came very close to being best buds with the tile floor. Even with the panic screeching and laughing from me and our general conversation the two young girls at the front desk didn’t seem to notice us whatsoever. They were deep in their own personal conversation, and when they did notice us we were just being awkwardly stared at until we prompted them by saying it was our first visit. Slowly, rudely, but surely we seated. In my opinion they are need of some customer service training(I myself work in customer service.) On another note our waiter, Zach, was excellent!!! He recommended dishes, was very helpful in explaining what was in each dish, and was extremely friendly. He kept the drinks coming, and he was very accommodating when it came to our lengthily and confused order. I would return simply because he was so wonderful to us. Now for the big reveal! The food! Everything was very fresh(yes they just opened, but I was still impressed) and nothing we tried today was inedible. We went a little out of our comfort zone so not all of it was a favorite, but it was all edible and most of it was absolutely delicious. We had two Bento Boxes because it was a good price($ 11.95 for four different food items) and it was a good way for us to get some variety. We also had a starter which we chose a combo(a sampler really for $ 9.50) which was more than enough for just the two of us and it was great. Crab ragoons(crunchy cheese wontons) chicken egg rolls, potstickers, chicken skewers, and squid salad. Overall the experience was good, and the food was excellent. I will definitely be returning with hopes of a better hostess.

Excellent place for Asian. They have Chinese, some Thai, & a good selection of sushi. Prices are good. Foods great. Portions are big. Not ever had a bad meal. Most of the service is great. There are a couple not on the ball, you need to give it a try.

The Food is decent bc it’s fairly cheap but the service is terrible. No one smiles and they all act like they don’t want to be there. Yikes! Service with a smile goes a long way guys.

I’ve not had their Thai food. The Chinese food is ok, only ok! The food here is way over priced for what you get. It feels too much like a chain restaurant!

Ugh. 2 sushi lunches in a row served with pickled ginger that is either rancid or flat out smells like Clorox bleach. I’m not going back. The fried spring roll was tiny and mostly fried shell — no veggies of any substance inside. The fried crab wontons(ie: cram cheese in a thick, fried shell) were about the same. If you’re into eating a bunch of fried dough with not much else then this is your place. I realize the sushi lunch special is cheap, but that’s no excuse to serve bad food.

This place is busy! I got an egg roll and Lo Mein with beef. Delish! The portions are big. Their sauces are good, the tea is good, the atmosphere is good. I will be back. *watch your bill, make sure your change is right*

If you are looking for authentic, good, Asian food, this isn’t the place. But if you want generic Americanized Asian food, it isn’t bad. The happy hour sushi sounds like a good deal, but in reality it is also half sized, so not much of a real special. The food is tasty. The service is hit or miss. We once sat in the bar area and all the server did was complain to us about the location of his section. Other times it has been speedy with great service. This restaurant has a pretty extensive gluten free menu. It includes gluten free sesame chicken, so if you miss getting fried yummy stuff because you can’t eat gluten, the selection is pretty good.

We decided to take advantage of the 50% off sushi from 3:00 until 6:30 p.m. This Friday after New Years was busy. Every table was full. We were pleasantly welcomed and seated immediately. Atmosphere was nice, seemed clean and contemporary design. After looking at extensive menu, ordered our drinks, one of which was hot tea. I was disappointed when no little teapot appeared, but just a cup(less than 8 oz.) of tea with a spoon in it and a tea bag. When I finished my tea and ask for a refill, my server said that I could re-use my teabag and she could bring me hot water and that there were no refills. At $ 1.99 for a hot beverage, this is next to ridiculous. She must of felt bad for me and did bring me another tea bag for a second cup. Next time, I’ll bring my own tea bags and save myself $ 2.00. Sushi was ok, but small in size. We also ordered, the Sapporo roll which was supposed to have lobster and crab in it, but I couldn’t distinguish any difference in taste or texture. In fact, most of the rolls tasted all the same, except for the Rainbow roll with fish on the outside. It was just an ok experience, nothing exceptional.

I want to start by saying that the prices here are by far the best I have ever seen. The sushi here, during 3:30 — 6:30, is half price, and less than grocery store sushi. The server we had was Cori, and he was very good. Great service, great prices. Quality is why I gave 3 starts. This sushi isn’t bad, it’s s cross between good grocery store sushi and good sushi, making it average. We have eaten at very good sushi places in the past, with high cuts of ahi tuna, but this isn’t that type of quality. You get what you pay for. Great if you are on a budget. I might come back for the service and prices ;)
