Liked the cocktail. I had a chicken dish but my friend had a traditional Jamaican fish which was better than mine. Small and nice place to hangout.

Excellent food, flavorful and tasty, only down side is no boneless chicken

Excellent food! What a great restaurant! Parking is a little difficult during lunch, but the food is definitely worth it. I tried the jerk chicken pasta with Alfredo sauce. Excellent food. Not too spicy and the checked was cooked perfectly. My coworker tried the jerk chicken with beans and rice. Everything we tried was excellent. We will definitely be coming back here soon.

Ordered the oxtails medium plate. Comes with about 5 oxtails, rice and beans, cabbage, and plantains… well to be exact 1 slice of plantain. Oxtails were ok… tender but just ok in flavor. Coco bread was ok. Beef patties were just the frozen store brand ones. Overall meh.

First time here and it was a crazy busy Saturday night. Service was aloof. Food was on point! We both had the jerk chicken and«all the sides». That was a nice chopped mix of white and dark meat — seasoned and sauced, with a large portion of rice and beans, some shredded carrot looking cabbage stuff, and a piece of plantain. It was so good I wanted to order another plate but I was too full. Place was clean and they had Jamaican music playing and the bartender was busy so it was almost a bar like vibe but the food was serious. Can’t wait to go back!

Ordered the jerk pork and curry chicken… Didn’t realize until I had gotten home that I receive the jerk chicken instead of the curry… Slightly on the dry side… The chicken breast and the rice and beans… Ordered the coco bread. Which is extra… Thought it would come with it… Tasted slightly freezer burned… Kind of a let down bc I use to love this place when I worked downtown… But I haven’t given up hope… I will try again

Great food! My boyfriend and I got the jerk chicken and jerk pork and it was fantastic! It came with cabbage, rice, and a slice of plantain. Would definitely come again when visiting Greenville. They also have a selection of Jamaican sodas that are good, but careful, they are high in sugar.

From the Caribbean and I have to say not only was the service quick but the food was excellent. Beef patties? Yum. Oxtails, goat, everything was great. All while jamming out to some best reggae new and old. I would eat here again and recommend it to not only West Indians but anyone.

This place is just amazing, I tried the jerk chicken and jerk lamb and I have to say this place is definitely a go. Only reason why I don’t give it 5 stars is because the guy serving me was a little rude after I told him it was my first time there but other than that I love this place.

Excellent, consistent! Jerk chicken platter is my favorite, but I hear the goar curry is «so good, it’ll make you wanna slap your mamma!»

The food was excellent. However, the staff was slightly un-attentive. It may have been an off day. I had the Goat Curry with rice.

Great food, nice atmosphere. Reminds me of St. Kitts. Totally authentic Caribbean food. Stop by for dinner and have a Ting.

This is a place purely for the real Jamaican experience. They serve the actual oxtail which was incredible to me. I had the tilapia curry. Really exquisite and good. Had never tried fish curried but I liked it very well. It is a very little place with not much room. The music was really loud that I couldn’t hear myself think. Good food with lots of experience. I’ll probably be back just to relive it. The prices are very fair for the large portions you get. Definitely enough food to fill you up. I had lots left over on my plate. My friends got jerk chicken and jerk pork which I got to sample which was good but I’m not big on the sauce they put on top of it all. But I will definitely be back. Good food with a good experience. What more could you ask for. Try it out. I guarantee you will like it.

Jerk pork was to die for. I wish we had this at home in TN!!! Best food for the $ that you will find in Greenville. The large jerk pork was $ 10.00 and it was a ton of food.

While in SC, I wanted something more than just fast food, so I went to Unilocal to find out if they were any good west indian spots. Low and behold I found this gem. I called ahead to put in a pickup order of oxtail and rice and peas. The store was about 10 minutes away. I hopped in my lil rental and off I went. Keep in mind, it’s a small storefront and you will pass it while driving like I did lol I had to call the store again to find out exactly where they were. They’re located in downtown Greenville. Parking is a nightmare just like in Manhattan. I drove around for 20 minutes and couldn’t find a spot. At this point my belly was growling so I just paid $ 5 and parked in a parking lot 3 blocks away. Finally hiked to the store on foot and it’s a small place with approximately 10 – 15 tables. It’s a good sighn that the place was packed. Some nice reggae tunes filled the air, place was nice and mellow. Went up to the register and was greeted by the friendly ladies working behind the counter. The aroma coming from the kitchen, reminded me of my mother’s cooking so that was good. The Beef patties caught my eye, so I picked up two. Rushed back to the hotel because at this point, I’m starving. I gotta say, this place is certified! The rice and peas was delicious, very soft and flavorful. The oxtail was tender and had a nice bit of spice in it. The cook definitely knows what they’re doing because not everybody knows how to cook oxtail. The Beef patties was excellent, reminded me of Golden Krust patties from NY. The beef filling was seasoned perfectly and the crust was soft and flakey. This will definitely be my go to spot for west indian food whenever I pass through SC. The only negative thing is the parking … but hey, it’s worth it!

The experience is very casual. We just walked by and got attracted by the red snapper on the menu exposed outside. We opened the door and the music from the stereo was definitely Jamaican! Good vibes! I ordered the red snapper but they advice you that it will take 45 minutes to get that ready. So I changed my choice and choose the Cod. It was very good! Also the portions are large with a lot of sides. The Jamaican Rum Punch was delicious. I am very pleased with the overall experience. This place may not be good for a Fancy date, but it worked out great for a casual dinner!

This place is a hidden gem in downtown Greenville. It’s tucked between some better known restaurants and doesn’t get a lot of traffic. I always see the same employees here, and the quality of the food is always the same too: amazing! The jerk chicken is great, but the jerk pork is the absolute best. I’ve possibly never had better pork. I can’t get anything else now. Throw in that the medium plate is only $ 8 and you can’t beat this place.

This is one of my favorite places to grab lunch. The rice is just spicy enough, the chicken with the jerks spices/sauces combine together for a mouthwatering explosion of goodness. If you’re in Greenville and want to go food, do yourself a favor and stop by. PS order Jamaican tropical tea. That junk is delish.

I’ve been to Jamaica Mi Irie and its previous incarnation, Jamaica Twist, several times over the years. The atmosphere is laid back, with fruity mixed drinks available and loud Carribbean club music playing playing at all times. The food is consistently delicious — tender cooked meats, well spiced and served with sides like beans & rice and fried plantains. The jerk sauce is a good balance of sweet and spicy without been too much like spicy barbecue sauce. Personally I prefer less sweetness and more hotness, so I usually get some hot sauce on the side. This is not a restaurant for food snobs. This is a place to go to relax, have a drink, and eat some comfort food with a hearty kick. It’s a welcome departure from more common Southern-style comfort food that dominates the Greenville restaurant scene. It’s also a nice break from the ethnic fusion places, because of its easygoing, unpretentious vibe. The only drawback is the occasionally unavailable menu item. Last time I went, the lamb was unavailable, which was a little disappointing. I’ll just have to try it next time!

The service could be a little better but it’s nothing to specifically complain about. Again, this is a place where I always order the same thing so I can’t give a broad spectrum review. It’s a cute small place on Main St near McBee Ave. Great $ 6 lunch special. Spicy, but not too spicy jerk. They usually have a nice variety of drinks from Jamaica. Probably my favorite thing since I’m more willing to try more adventurous drink more so than foods.
