Residence Inn Brownsville

During our stay, the lobby and the fitness center were being redone. That caused some inconvenience. The suite was clean, but dated. Not up to the normal standard that we are accustomed to with Marriott. The carpet in the elevator was particularly awful. My wife, who is sensitive to strong odors, had to hold her noise when we were in the elevator.

The front desk was extremely helpful, patient and understanding with our large group. Even though there was a snafu with the payment information, they allowed us to check in to our rooms and made the experience pleasant. The pool area is nice, with palm trees lining the pool and the warm Brownsville sun made the pool feel even better. There is a small exercise room with treadmills and such, if one is so inclined.
They have receptions most weekdays, with complimentary refreshments and light dinner fare. The rooms are all suites with two distinct rooms and a semi kitchen with fridge, freezer, microwave, stovetop, dishwasher and sink. The room was clean and the air conditioning worked well, which is wonderful. I’ve stopped taking good A/​C for granted lately, but this was great. Nice accommodations.
