I wanted to type this up on behalf of Gian because he is telling me to do it and he loves Accento so much that he wants to tell everyone about it! Gian: «I think Accento deserves a 5 star because they are not pretentious, they don’t try too hard to be „hipster“ or show off, they are authentic, they’re so friendly and fun to chat with, they make good food and coffee for extremely reasonable prices! They do good things in a nice and friendly way. Simple and well done! They DESERVE5 stars!!» There ya go, Gian’s first review via my Unilocal account haha. I agree with him though! Accento is just so homey and makes amazing coffee and food! What more do ya want?!

What a little gem. I’ve walked past this café and ignored it far too many times… definitely regretting that now! This is a small but perfectly formed authentic Italian café. I say authentic because the staff were Italian and one of them told me that they source their ingredients from their home town in Italy.(I think) …such friendly people! The selection is pretty good, enough to feel like you’ve got a choice but not an overwhelming amount — which suits me because I’m AWFUL at making decisions when the menu is huge. It varies from Italian breakfast to pastries, cakes, ‘panino’(amazing thick bread toasted, basically a panini… surprisingly) and coffee’s. I had a hazelnut latte. No exaggeration it’s probably one of the best coffee’s I’ve had in Glasgow in a long time. So smooth and creamy, how a skimmed latte was so creamy tasting I will never know! I also had a tomato, mozzarella and pesto panino which I really enjoyed. The bread was super thick and soft and they were pretty generous with the filling. Also picked up a brownie to share and the lady recommended warming it up when I got home. So glad I listened to her because it was so lovely… just the right amount of soft/gooeyness. I opted for take-away because I was in a bit of a rush to get home and it really is small. Probably two tables that seat 2 and then a bigger one at the ‘back’… only downside, but if you’re lucky enough to get a seat then the interior is nice enough and the staff were all really friendly so I’m sure they’d have good service. They certainly did when serving me for take-away anyway. I will definitely be going back to try something else, I might even try sit in next time if there’s a spare seat!

I had been away for a few weeks and since then this new place had opened up. On my way to the west end I came I for a quick lunch & coffee. The menu is simple mainly sandwiches, panini’s and a few specials, most items do look home made, especially the tiramisu. I remember this place in the past, and then the food was plain and boring, that’s probably why l never came back. There is only seating for ten customers but there are now a few tables outside, I bought a tuna mayo toasted sandwich & a coffee, total cost was £4.50, I think I will be coming here more often now, definitely on my list of cheap eats around glasgow.
