The green papaya spicy salad that I shared with my friend(she forgot to mention it would be spicy) almost blew my head off. I was shoving ornately folded napkins in my mouth and about to plunge my head into the nearest fish-tank when the waiter noticed the pain I was in and brought me a glass of milk. Aww, bless. Despite everything being just lovely, I warn you not to have any mains with chicken in it. Was that even chicken? It was a bit rubbery and rather unpleasant. Still it’s just about edible in a green curry. Go with the other meat options, they were better.

How can a restaurant that’s producing food this good not have a review on Unilocal until now??! I had the jungle curry with beef which would be fit for any animal in the jungle… even king of the jungle(Which I am, being a Leo!) anyway I command you to try this restaurant if you’re in Brighton! so yummy, tasted really super healthy and fresh! go go go!

After seeing a Thursday morning film at the Brighton Odeon, I took my companion over the road for a light lunch at the Thai Spice Restaurant. The atmosphere is small, intimate and welcoming with lots of Thai character from the arts and crafts on show. The food is simple but very fresh and is whisked steaming to the table. Other Thai people eat there; always a good sign. We had the Wednesday-Saturday lunch offer: one course from £3.95, two courses from £5.50. With three glasses of wine(‘He who talks’ was not driving) and a pot of Jasmine Tea, it came to £20.60 in total. In short — great tastes and wonderful value.

I’ve been here two years running for my birthday celebration. its a great place, very adaptable, with a lovely menu — including tempura for starters. As a vegetarian who can’t eat chip shop fish batter any more(cos of the fish .) that was really enjoyable. The main waiter is Thai, but is also a student at Brighton University, and willing to take photos of birthday celebrations. He also brings out little presents — a chocolate bombe, a special pair of chopsticks, and so on. Its very sweet. Its a very central restaurant, and pretty reasonable too — two courses and wine came to about £16 each. We’ll be going again soon.
