I am a big Thai food fan and have tried different Thai restaurants in London. I tried this one whilst visiting Brighton and I found the food we ordered was succulent! The price was very accessible and the amount of food was fine. Service was very good as well. I’d definitely go back.

Street Thai has always been one of my favourite restaurants in Brighton. It’s hidden away in the lanes and not the easiest to find, but it’s worth the walk. The food is always really high quality, fresh and pretty authentic. It’s not the cheapest you’ll find, but the staff are friendly and their outside terrace is gorgeous in the summer

Really great! I had a two course lunch deal that comes to £9.85 including service charge. The venue was really comfortable, clean, with no odd detergent smells and the ambience was great. The staff members were very friendly and the service was nice and efficient. I ordered Tom Kha soup and Green Curry with both tasted great and presented very well. I definitely recommend this place!

I do love my Thai food, so you can imagine my delight when Street Thai opened. I’d been recommended this restaurant by quite a few of my friends who had been travelling to Thailand, and they told me that the food and the flavours were really authentic and to give it a go. I started with some sort of lemongrass-infused cocktail — I can’t remember what it was called, but it was delicious and had a strong kick! The waitress was smiley and attentive to us, and recommended the Pork Skewers to start, which we had. It wasn’t the biggest portion but the presentation and the flavours were absolutely exquisite! I’ve not tasted such nice Thai food in a long time. For my main I had the Thai Red Curry, an old favourite of mine. It was absolutely divine, and had chunks of sweet potato in it which I thought was a really nice addition. I’ve been adding sweet potatoe to my Thai Red Curries ever since! The restaurant is nice and clean with a laid back vibe. I’d definitely come here again.

Excellent simple Thai food. Quiet atmosphere, very nice and kind Thai host, and the food is brought quickly. I was there late Sunday afternoon and it wasn‘t busy much. I ate the chicken pad thai and the lamai green cheese cake, and enjoyed them both very much.

Dropping a star for the experience I had last time I visited. Came for lunch a few weeks ago as the roof terrace is so nice and the weather was great. I’d seen a 10% off voucher which Street Thai’s twitter said was for«all our Facebook friends» giving the discount on the entire bill! I’m a friend of theirs on Facebook so loaded the voucher and showed them it on my phone before ordering. The waitress told me you have to print the voucher for it to be valid, which is completely fair enough, and she was kind enough to let us use it anyway, provided we left a name and address. We ordered some soft drinks, a som tum to share and a pork noodle soup each. Then waited. Our drinks took a while to come, and people who had arrived after us were getting served first. When our drinks arrived we asked if we could have a condiment caddy for the noodle soups like the inside tables had, the waitress told us that«of course, it would be brought with the soups.» Great! As you can see from my previous review, I really love those condiment caddys! The som tum arrived and was really spicy, sour and nice. Our noodle soups arrived eventually(and are still as excellent as ever, by the way) but no condiment caddy with them, that’s okay though, we asked for one again and ordered some more drinks. 10 minutes later, no drinks and still no condiments. So we reminded the waitress again. We’d now asked her three times. Another 10 minutes later our drinks and the condiments were finally brought to the table, but we were both nearly finished the noodle soups. This was such a shame as the condiments make Thai noodle soups, it’s all about making them sour, sweet, spicy and salty! The food is still brilliant but the only thing that came quickly was the bill, and we spent the whole meal waiting for various things and feeling forgotten about. When we paid the bill the waitress told us we would only be getting the discount on food. Luckily we hadn’t had many drinks so it we didn’t mention it, but when it states on the voucher it’s on the entire bill it’s a little unfair to leave it until the end of the meal to tell customers they’re actually only getting a food discount.

I give it 3.5 stars. The atmosphere is quite nice and the service was good. The waitress was prompt to take our order and prompt with the food. And for those sunny days in Brighton(if there are any), there is a rooftop terrace that looks quite nice. Will definitely be coming back for that in the summer. My friend and I both ordered a Thai ice tea but it was too sweet for both of us. However, things did look up. I ordered the chicken tom yum kuay teow noodles and as promised, it was quite spicy. For someone of Southeast Asian descent, it was a proper level of spice but I would air on the side of caution and ask them to make it less spicy if you are a spice novice. For me, it was perfect. Very satisfying and well-flavored. My friend ordered some prawn curry dish. For me, it was a bit on the sweet side but that is typical of Western-prepared Thai food. Nonetheless, the flavors were good and it is a much milder dish so I would recommend this to someone who wants a good flavored curry without too much spice. The prices were also reasonable. All in all, with 2 dishes and 2 glasses of Thai iced tea, service charge included, our bill came to less than 22 pounds. I would come back again to try their other dishes!

The first time I went with a group of friends for a birthday dinner and we ate inside. The food was good and the dessert was delicious. The service was a bit slow but since we had so many people it was normal. However, I went back another time by myself to order Pad See Eew Moo for take away. The service was horrible, the food didn’t taste as good and the waitress was very rude to me during payment. Overall I think street thai is a good place to go to if you are craving thai food, but not a place I would go over and over again

I’m a little torn as to whether Street Thai should get 3 or 4 stars… I’ll stick with 3 for now but intend to go back so will see if they can push it up to 4 on my next visit! This is a relatively new restaurant that has opened up in the heart of the Lanes. The premises are massive, spread out over two floors with a fantastic roof terrace for those sunny Brighton days(few and far between as they are at the moment!). Although bright and airy, I felt the restaurant lacked a little ambiance and atmosphere. I came here with a large group of work friends and the service was great, all the food delivered quickly and at the same time. There is a varied drinks menu and I could definitely recommend the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. They also have a comprehensive cocktail list which I didn’t sample on this occasion. Now for the important part — the food! For starter I went for the soft shell crab which was absolutely delicious, and I would highly recommend it. Also exceptional was the pudding — green tea cheese cake — nom nom nom! Unfortunately, it was the main course that rather let the meal down. I went for the Kao Phad — Thai green curry fried rice with chicken, tiger prawns bamboo shoots, aubergines and Thai sweet basil leaves. The flavour was quite nice and had a good level of spiciness. However, the texture was very dry and they were very stingy on the meat and veg — it was verging on just being a plate of greenish rice. Maybe this is how the dish is meant to be served but it just wasn’t for me. It was also accompanied by a clear soup that was ok, but again not that full of flavour. Having said that, the menu is very reasonably priced and I will definitely be back to try out some more dishes.
