LoveFit café offers an amazing selection of healthy options for meals and snacks throughout the day. Their menu is packed with great sounding good that you can consume guilt-free! Thy have soups, salads, juices, sweet treats and more. Having always enjoyed the juices in here I was excited to sample some of their food for the first time the other day. I went for the tuna salad, and was really disappointed by it. The tuna was unusually salty, the pinto beans tasted off and the salad came without a dressing, making it healthier of course, but a little bland and dry. Unfortunately it really wasn’t a great salad at all, which was a real shame. The staff in here are very friendly and I do love the juices, so all is not lost, but I will be thinking quite hard before ordering food here again… I’m giving this place a 3 because they serve great juices and offer lots of interesting choice but, sadly, the salad just wasn’t up to scratch in my opinion.

Another decent café with takeaway. I particularly like that they put the nutritional value on the menu so I can pretend to be healthy in my lunch break and then eat crisps all afternoon. I usually take away a jacket potato, but they have some lovely looking sarnies and salads in the fridge, as well as some ‘healthier’ cake selections. I’ve always been in and out in 10 minutes whenever taking food away with me, and the folks that work there have been helpful and courteous. Not exceptional necessarily, but nice enough nonetheless!

I often pop in for a take out smoothie. the qualities of each smoothie blend are listed, for example the Apple, Celery & Lime is cleansing etc etc. Its location means if convenient for shoppers and working lunchers, as well as being close to several central gyms. As well as the smoothies they also offer a menu of self confessed ‘guilt free food’ including sandwiches and salads that have been especially created as super healthy.

With all of the cafes in Brighton, they quite often make huge efforts to be different and stand out. Love Fit Café, slap bang in the middle of the Lanes, does so by offering healthy, tasty smoothies, normally with some vegetables in there. As an alternative to the many sandwich bars in the area, it also offers healthy breakfast and lunch options, although the smoothies are the real star of the show. I didn’t use to be that health-conscious, but along with my recent attempts to go to the gym and drink less coffee, I have been giving some of these healthy food places a try. As they go, Love Fit is pleasantly local from anywhere in the Lanes, and is cheap for what it offers. Like most smoothie places I’ve been to, they seem to make an effort to make all of their drinks sweet as well as healthy: something I really appreciate. What helps Love Fit stand above the rest are it’s excellent prices and location. The fact that most of their menu is under a fiver is impressive, and the smoothies are all cheap enough to stand next to the wealth of tea and coffee available in the area. As well as that, the location is excellent: Brighton Square is nicely tucked away, with a fountain and steady, yet not to boisterous crowd passing through, making it perfect for sitting outside in the summer. If you fancy a healthy, cheap snack and a drink, Love Fit is the place to go in the Lanes, although it may be a bit out of the way for any of the North Laine shopping crowd. Still, Brighton Square is another of Brighton’s many little hideaways: be sure to give it a try sometime!

Lovefit Café does live it up to its motto of «tastebud tested, body approved» with its healthy food and drink menu. With both meat and veggie options, Lovefit serves up British fare with a hippie twist. Offering a full breakfast menu, and serving up something other then English Fry-up, Love fit would be a good substitute for homemade porridge. I was a little bit let down by the pricing, most of the sandwiches are over £3, and the veggie club I had could have been made at home for the price(if I wasn’t so lazy), but when they are served on real wholemeal bread, bagel or wrap you can justify spending a little extra to eat in, or take out from the open fridge. The juices and smoothies are well worth the money. My personal favorite of Carrot, Beetroot, Celery and Ginger was a $ 1.95 well spent. They also have loads of fruity options, and an impressive selection of protein powders, and supplements to add to your shake. «You are what you eat» could be a new motto for this locally sourced, organically grown eatery. I think I would be an Avocado club and Pineapple juice.

As someone who’s both health conscious and a foodie, I can say that Love Fit Café is clearly where it’s at. They offer a truly unique menu of breakfasts, lunches and smoothies that are good for you and promise to be delicious. Prices are really reasonable for what is, I suppose, a specialty food restaurant, with several options under 5, and further discounts for takeaway. Today I treated myself to a hot chocolate, made with semi-skimmed milk, and a ‘guilt-free’ slice of carrot cake. The drink was really tasty — I had a hard time not gulping it down.(It’s been awhile since I’ve had hot chocolate.) The highlight of the carrot cake was the icing — I would never have guessed it was lower in fat or calories. However, the cake itself was a bit dry, the way lower-fat desserts sometimes are. Still, a minor detail — the icing definitely made up for it. I highly recommend coming in for a healthy meal to make up for the gluttony that is the Christmas season.

Lovefit can be found right in the centre of town and offers an array of homemade food and general healthiness. Priding itself on its ‘guilt –free food’ the menu consists of sandwiches, baguettes, jackets, salads and soups. Its mega cheap considering its location and great place to grab a bite on your lunch break, or something healthy when you get ‘the hunger’ after a work out at a gym in town. The best thing about Love Fit s the lush juices, blends and smoothies, all of which are listed with their benefits for example… the Apple, Celery & Lime blend is packed with vitamins as well as being cleansing.

Lovefit café — I have been here many times and have had great paninis, sandwiches and smoothies and the best thing is you can tuck in knowing its all healthy. Its a bit tucked out the way but well worth a visit to Brighton Square in the Lanes to find it. Please set up another café in Hove. :)
