I wandered around the Lanes a little when I saw this place on Unilocal and was determined to find it, despite my poor navigation skills!(It was a bit of a miserable, wet British day so I was deffo in need of a pick-me-up — veggie burgers are my fave treat). Finally spotted it and realised it was a much smaller place than I’d been expecting. Service was top notch, despite business being quiet due to the depressing rain, and I was really impressed with all the extras that I got along with my burger. The bread was really nice, not just your bog-standard bun — I can understand why this hole in the wall gets so much attention and love on Unilocal

Dead Impressed. I was feeling a bit delicate following Pride weekend, and still had my friends down visiting so I thought I’d show them around Brighton on a normal day. My bf recommended Brighton Burger as I’d never been before. He insisted that they were really tasty(Scott is a bit of a burger aficionado) so I trusted his judgement. All I can say is wow! My burger definitely hit the spot. A beef patty with mushrooms and blue cheese. It was really nice and the filling was generous. The guy who served us was lovely and chatty, and enthusiatic about burgers! He asked us a few times if we were happy with our food, which we were! I thoroughly enjoyed my burger. I always rave on about Burger Brothers to anyone that will listen, but I really enjoyed my Brighton Burger. Equally as good as Burger Brothers but in a different way(if that makes any sense?)

Delicious, fresh food, great service, friendly chef! Coming from California, I’m used to many burger joints, but the bean burger was one of the best veggie burgers that I’ve ever had. The chips were perfectly crispy and thin so they complimented our burgers well. A friend ordered the Ranch burger and said the same of her food. We would both highly recommend it. Quick service, happy customers, great food!

It is both a blessing and a nightmare that Brighton Burger is so close to my current flat. A blessing because, let’s face it, these are some of the best burgers I’ve ever tasted, and a nightmare because it’s going to be hard not to get one every single day… Set up in a tiny, shack-like kitchen just beside the Giggling Squid, Brighton Burger serves hearty, honest, flavoursome food. Their menu is wonderful, hosting many unusual eats and obscure burgers — from wild boar to buffalo– but they also server your usual burger and fries to a very high standard. The burgers themselves are almost moist and full of flavour. So moist, in fact, that my takeaway burger soaked through the paper bag(my only teeny complaint!). This can be forgiven though, for as soon as you bite into the juicy burger, cuddled by sweet, soft bun and topped with whatever glorious accompaniments you opted for, everything can be forgiven. Literally everything. This last visit had me trying out the buffalo burger, which was absolutely delicious! Not as different tasting as you might expect it to be, but certainly different enough that you notice you’re tasting something new and out of the ordinary! I added chips to my order and they came out, all thin and crispy, just how I like them! I almost typed there were ‘too many chips’ there, but let’s be honest there’s no such thing. There were loads of them though, in one portion, so maybe share between two if your appetite is not massive! The man who served me was pleasant(they always are!) and the service was quick and painless. The burger and chips came to around £8 which, though not the cheapest in Brighton, is so so reasonable for the portion sizes and quality of the food here! There’s also a few tables and chairs dotted out by the front of the place, so you can sit in the sun(when it’s about) and enjoy your burger in peace, watching the world go by! If you’re in Brighton and you haven’t tried these burgers then, firstly, shame on you, and secondly TRYTHEM. I’ll eat my hat if you’re not impressed and back again for seconds the next week! :P

This place is the best burger in Brighton. FACT. The burgers are fresh and really tasty. A proper burger — juicy, simply seasoned and made with care. There a few flavour combinations to choose from, some a little more unusual than the standard cheese/bacon combos.(Although there’s nothing wrong with that!) Some include various chilli sauces, egg, pineapple, onion rings and so on. All the burgers are cooked to order, and generously portioned. Nice buns.(On the burgers, I mean.)The skin-on fries are really great too, and I’m usually not too bothered about chips. The place is tiny, consisting of a hatch and a few tables and chairs on the pavement. Personally I rather like that it’s intimate and not showy at all. The prices are incredibly good. Around £4 for a burger. Somebody said«twice as good as GBK and half the price» — I couldn’t agree more. These days ‘gourmet’ burgers are all over the place, and even a microwaved Burger King burger is almost a fiver, so Brighton Burger is really a quality bargain. Julian, the man who runs it, obviously really cares about what he’s doing. He invariably brings the food to you when it’s not super-busy, and is really friendly with his customers. Last time he recommended a particular habanero sauce to my other half just cos he thought he’d like it.(He did) No extra charge, just a big smile and an awesome meal. This is how a burger should be!

Burgers twice as good as GBK but less than half the price. This place is really good value nice, home-made burgers that taste really good and are made with care, great specials, good fries. No frills but are frills needed with burgers that taste this good? I think not

I swung by this place initially for the amazing prices– from £3(hamburger) to £3.80(with everything) I would have been pleased with any quality. Despite the low prices, this was actually the BEST burger I have ever had. Better than Grubbs, better than GBK, better than my best mates bbq, better than any restaurant I have been to in the world. Lovely smoky bacon, meaty hand made patties, a big wedge of blue cheese, nice buns. Sorry to gush. The only downside was THEREARENODOWNSIDESBESTBURGERJOINTINBRIGHTONIFNOTTHEWORLD.

Proper burgers in the heart of Brighton. That’s what Brighton Burger is all about. Right in the Lanes, off Market Square, it’s a fun place to grab a bite and the burgers really are excellent. Lots of choice, good quality beef and cheery service. We sat outside(yes, not always an option this summer) and loved watching the world go by with our fries, burgers and drinks. I’d really recommend Brighton Burger as a place to bring the kids when you’re next in town.

They do sell a really good cheese burger in this place — it can’t be denied. The menu is a little overloaded though with other stuff, they should just pick one thing and perfect it in my opinion. The place does look really inviting and and once inside, the atmosphere is great. I was a bit worried it would be over priced but not at all, really down to earth prices which is a real bonus.

This is a classic British type of place, selling far more food dishes than really should be possible. For that, I am always wary. I picked up a coffee and bacon egg sandwich on my way to work, paying £3.60 for the priviledge. My sandwich was certainly what I needed to fuel me for the day ahead, the coffee however, was not. The coffee was watery and quite bitter, but not in any form of good way. Seeing as I only paid about £1 for the coffee though, I can’t really expect to get a hand crafted machiatto. This isn’t really my type of place, but it certainly has a purpose.

The Burger Bar does exactly what it says on the label: tasty burgers, as well as an assortment of other burger bar classics: hot dogs, chips, cooked English breakfast, and so on. The quality is high, as is the price, which seems a little much considering food has to either be taken away or eaten outdoors. As a satellite of The House, the very tasty and upmarket restaurant around the corner, The Burger Bar’s quality cannot be disputed. The burgers themselves are beefy, hearty, and packed with juicy flavour; much better quality than the ubiquitous McDonald’s/Burger King, as well as the late night joints such as RFC around the corner. The various sundries are of similar quality, and the cooked breakfast is also to a very high standard. However, this alludes to The Burger Bar’s main issue: it is hopelessly mired somewhere between upmarket restaurant and market stall. The food is great quality, relatively pricey(considering the always popular Starbucks across the road and the locally-sourced, reasonably priced Toasters next door), but doesn’t befit being plonked in a cheap, styrofoam take-away box. Similarly, anything that requires a plate to eat, such as the cooked breakfast, is almost impossible considering Market Square is at a slight angle. Forgive the pun, but I’ve had more than one runaway sausage moment! In conclusion, The Burger Bar is great, but confused. The food is to a high standard, but the mixture of low-end burger bar and high-end food is a little strange. If it was open til late, and served Brighton’s late-night revellers, it would make more sense to me; as it stands, it is a pleasant peculiarity.

This is my favourite burger bar in Brighton. Tasty beef, delicious fries and a cool place to sit in the South Lanes. Its pretty cheap and a shoot off from House round the corner. I like the design of the front with all the text, it looks striking and inviting. They have a really good array of burgers plus tons of other stuff which I am sure is done very well, but I am a bit of a purist and always stick to the same thing, Cheeseburger, Fries and a drink, its 4 quid which is a bargain lunch when in need of beef.
