Delightful fine dining lunch with my mom. Couple glasses of wine and lunch menu for both of us to enjoy fine dining. The beef cheek with potato leek sauce and the beet glass noodle salad were outstanding. Right before we walked into Van Gogh museum stopping here was a great choice. Lunch for two was € 130

Just had a wonderful lunch here. The food is gourmet but not overly fussy. I had a green gazpacho soup which shared the bowl with a big helping of burrata cheese as well as some lovely green garnishes. My companion had the asparagus appetizer which was also delicious. For our mains we had sweetbreads, served in a lovely carrot sauce, and the free-range chicken, which was served with baby corn and a cherry reduction. My chicken was listed as having a crispy skin but unfortunately they must have only had skinless pieces left so I didn’t get the dish exactly as advertised. If everything else wasn’t so well-prepared I might be tempted to deduct a star for this but all the other elements came together so well that I am giving the full 5 stars. For dessert we split a rice pudding which came with a vanilla foam infused with flavor of kafir lime, a great touch. The amuse bouche, a Gouda profiterole was gorgeous and the perfect way to kick things off. This place is located within the Rijksmusem complex so obviously it pairs well with a visit. But it’s worth a trip even if you aren’t going to the museum that day. Our server Wendy was polite and highly informed about the food. She absolutely added to the enjoyment of the whole experience.

The environment is very nice. The service is good as well as the food and the wine. We had a nice meal but not wonderful. Overall, it was a good experience.

Delish, beautiful restaurant right by the Rjiks museum. Rijks museum? Eh, okay. 6 course kickback at Rijks? Beautiful! Wonderful presentation, organic and wholesome ingredients, wonderful ambiance. And 6 course menu only like 60 euro! Get it while the going is good and the dollar is strong!

Perfection. Go. Eat. Be a human«being,» instead of a human«doing.» Spend time. Savor. Be. One of the best. if not THE best… meals I’ve ever EVER had in my life, and I’m celebrating my 60th birthday. I have no words. Ahhhhhhhh…

You know when you come across one of those food experiences that are so amazing that you don’t even know where to begin. Well. This would be one of those experiences. I knew that the Rijks would be good, or so I’d heard, but it exceeded any expectation that I had. It’s all about smaller dishes(they say 3 or so but frankly two was more than enough — especially if you want room for dessert… and trust me you do) bursting with flavor. And oh the food. I just don’t even know where to start. It was so good. So. Good. For me as a vegetarian I had some pretty good option and was not left dissatisfied. The service is great and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable with a good sense of humor(yay for that). Also. Do not skip out on dessert. It is totally worth the extra run in the morning. Just go there if in Amsterdam. Because. If not now, when?

Very, very good food worthy of its Michelin star. There are several signature dishes which you should try. Simply ask the helpful staff. The location is perfect in the building adjoining the Rijksmuseum. For a restaurant of its quality it is surprisingly large, but they deliver.

Stumbled upon this restaurant while leaving the Rijks and was pleasantly surprised. We didn’t make a reservation for lunch but was able to get seated in 10 mins. If you were to come, make a reservation. Every table is provided with bread and whipped butter along with a side platter with crackers and another salad like dish. We ordered a couple of their small dishes and was blown away! Spit fire pork and the cod. Portions are small but well worth the experience! Make a reservation, try it! You won’t be disappointed!

Stunning. The lobster languistine should not be missed. And if you forget your reading glasses, never fear, they have a range to choose from to help you read the menu. Amazing.

The Rijks restaurant is a very classy establishment located just out front of the Rijks Museum. This place is extraordinarily modern and is a great option for fine dining after viewing Late Rembrandt. The service was great and the primary dining prix fixe menu was fantastic, a bit eclectic, but fantastic. I was fortunate enough to dine in the private dining room next to the kitchen which really enhanced the overall dining experience. Overall, I’d really recommend this place to anyone with a refined palate looking to experience some fine dining and take in some absolutely gorgeous pieces of Rembrandt’s work. Pros– Location Modern amenities Bar Menu Service Cleanliness Private dining rooms Cons– Dishes come out slow Pricey

I’ve just read the previous reviews of the Rijks Restaurant and maybe the owners have too, and have changed things… cause I’m a fan. Agree that the hostess may have been a little awkward, but that didn’t put me off at all. Besides, our server was great and was on top of everything — she was quick to check if our table had any food allergies, etc, which we did, so we really appreciated that they made a special effort to bring separate special plates to suit us. I also think the menu could be a bit confusing, but that’s only if the server didn’t explain it. Ours did, so no confusions there at all. We went for the 5 course menu — you have to pay a pretty penny, but its for a good cause, since the food is outstanding. If you have the chance, take the 5 course menu — so many different tastes and flavors — and you’ll leave satisfied. I’m not the biggest fan of traditional Dutch food, and this restaurant definitely exceeded my expectations about what Dutch food can be like. One of our dishes was inspired by South African braai, while another brought me back to Tokyo(the mackerel with toasted rice and orange fish eggs).

Completely agree with review of George T. Hostess is unacceptable. We arrived feeling unwelcome and awkward. Not sure why. Somehow the menu is hard to read, we ended up ordering the surprise menu so we didn’t have to spend more time to try and read it. Food is great! Well done. Service is ok, they need dedicated hands to pour water and clear&clean tables.(Dorien our waiter was great however) Interior design is a bit bland, lacks the hand and eye of a Philippe Starck-like designer. Could be more daft. Lighting needs attention; is leaning towards«ongezellig» 3.5÷5
