Great location but I have been sitting here for 15 minutes and no one has come over to take my order although staff has walked by. Finally waved a waitress down– let’s see how long it takes to get my Heineken. It is a beautiful sunny day and a great time to sit here and enjoy it. Just a shame the service is so bad.

Great location in the museum district. Fantastic for people watching. My boyfriend and I grabbed a quick lunch here on our way to the Van Gogh Museum.
«Quick» is the word to be stressed because upon reading other reviews of the place I was kind of worried about the time it would take to get our food and our check. Both were delivered promptly and with a smile.
I had the Poffertjes (tiny Dutch pancakes) and he had a burger. Both were tasty. It was a very pleasant (and well timed) lunch.

Sitting in the cobra, waiting for my check. Service is at a snail’s pace. Best thing about this place in my opinion is the people watching. It sits right in front of the rijksmuseum. Not very knowledgable about gluten free diet and I should mention again how slow the service is. If you need shelter from nature’s element and a beer, stop in. Otherwise pass. First and last time for this place.

I had lunch here during the off-​season but it was still quite full of people. As others have commented, the food was good but the wait service was very slow. My food took a while and my check took even longer. All in all, however, for being smack in the middle of a tourist zone it was worth it and if you’re not particularly in a hurry you won’t go wrong here

The café is conveniently located in Vondel Park, close to the Rijksmuseum. We went for a late lunch and there were plenty of diners everywhere. There’s indoor and outdoor seating at this large café. The café has a retro feel to it and is light and bright.
I got a tuna salad and a pea soup. The soup was excellent, with a touch of cream that did not overpower the peas. Tuna salad was disappointing, made with canned tuna. My partner got a burger and frites and the frites were delicious! He pronounced the burger perfect too.
The servers were friendly and attentive and checked in several times with us.

This is a beautiful café but it took f’ing forevvvver to get our food and even longer to get our check. Granted it was summer and the scenery is beautiful but we had a museum to get to. Chop chop, people!
I would highly recommend going if you just want to relax and take in the local scenery.
