Perfect gem in a beautiful city. My wife, who is particular about food, fell in love with Omelegg. The service was nice and the food was perfect. In addition, the atmosphere and coffee… spectacular Made our trip to Amsterdam quite a special one.

It might be the place for you but I had a bad experience. The menu(non-English) the waitstaff was rushed, so I just ordered what I normally order back home and it was fine.

We had breakfast here in the afternoon. I don’t think this place is cheap, nor is the service world class, but all in all this place deserves 5 stars. Friendly service, yummy food, cosy interior, wifi, clean toilet.

So this place gets exceptionally high ratings on Unilocal. The hype is huge. We waited for around 40 minutes to get in and I was not to bothered about the length of time as I was expecting big things. Sadly as the famous lyrics go. «Don’t believe the hype». Firstly the service was appalling. We waited ages to get in and when we eventually got seated they served people before us who had been seated after us. The wait was massive and so long that when we eventually got our food, the people behind us in the queue had already ate their brunch and left! We were well hungry and very hacked off by this point. The omelette menu was huge as you would expect. Loads of interesting options and I was excited to try my dish when it arrives. I ordered the triple cheese with added Chorizo and cream cheese. The best I can say was it was ok. There was about two bits of chorizo and the triple cheese did not feel very triple in portion size. In general the whole thing was pretty small. The piece of bread on the side was nice, but I could also have done with another bit of that. Once you add up the time queuing and the time waiting to be served my meal it was probs abound 80 mins. The queuing was my fault/choice, the poor service was theirs. The food itself was average at best. All in a completely under whelming experience. Perhaps worth a look if it’s quiet, but no way worth queuing for!

My husband and I had breakfast here this morning. I had the Farmer Boy and my husband had the gorgonzola and bacon. Both were delicious – fluffy and moist– and the brown bread that accompanied the omelet was perfect. The service was friendly and quick without being rushed. And we loved the choice of music, from the 20s and 30s. A perfect breakfast spot!

Great breakfast place — who knew omelettes could be sweet too? My husband hate a date, walnut and cinnamon/honey omelette and I had a dutch bacon, onion and veg one. good juice and a great start for the day.

We chose omelegg for our first meal in Amsterdam. I love breakfast, especially omelette, so I was looking forward to what omelegg had to offer. The restaurant is very homey and cost. Lots of wood and even the menus are wood. Greeted a friendly hostess and immediately had a table. Great selection of breakfast items — we all opted for omelette. I ordered the Farm Boy which has bacon, sausage, mushrooms and lots of other goodies. Also noticed you could build your own also the possibilities are endless. Omelette share served with the he freshest bread ever and a salad. Being from the USA I wasn’t sure what to expect but the omelette itself was fantastic. Everyone else thought theirs was great too, Great food, great service, reasonable prices. A gem of a find in Amsterdam.

If you love eggs, especially omelettes, this is your place. I’m not even a huge egg fan, but the Viking Fisherman(the omelette with smoked salmon) did not disappoint. Portions are huge and they have a huge selection of omelettes. The burger’s quite tasty too. Expect to wait a long time when you come here during the weekend — or come super early or super late.

The omelettes here are to die for, I tried the Funky chicken and my friend, who had a considerably big appetite, had the more filling farmer boy. Expect a wait as this place is very popular but worth the wait and all omelettes are priced between 6−9euros!

Omelettes reinvented. The place has a farm-like atmosphere and all the dishes are prepared at the open kitchen. It’s quite interesting how one cook can handle making 8 omelettes at once, as a real pro! The menu is quite extensive. From traditional omelettes with the usual onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc. But also experimental one, like banana and peanut butter!(We asked the waitress how this works. It’s supposed to be a non-salty omelette, so more like a pancake) You can even make your own omelette combo. I opted for the Gorgonzola bacon. This was delish! Nice balance of strong gorgonzola and other ingredient, so it is not too much. My friend went for the Farm boy, and this was very tasty too! Especially the sausage what they put in there was… Yum! I totally love this place. When you get there, don’t get discourage by the line waiting outside. You will get a table real quick. It’s worth the wait :)

Best omelette I’ve ever eaten. It took about 45 minutes to get in but totally worth it :) I ordered gorganzala bacon omelette and it was spectacular!

I came here for a late breakfast on a Friday and thought it was your average weekday, this place was still doing a brisk business. I had The Dutchie(dutch spiced bacon, onion, mushrooms, bell pepper & farmer cheese) and my friend had the Curry Bockwurst(bockwurst, onion, curry sauce & curry powder). The food and coffee was solid — but by far the most amazing component was the farmer cheese. I don’t know what kind of cheese that is specifically but it is awesome! I would recommend ANY omelette on the menu with this — it really made the difference between good and WHYISTHISSOGOOD?! The atmosphere is just as cute and homey as the photos portray, and the service was friendly and attentive. All in all this was a great place to go for breakfast and TRYTHEFARMERCHEESE!!! :)

A cute, but not overly self-aware décor, helpful and patient staff, and a menu sure to fill your belly, I like to go here alone or with one other person to handle breakfast without fanfare. Breakfast work. Mostly savory options on the menu — of course there are croissants and jam, but don’t expect waffles, pancakes, or french toast; that’s not what they’re doing over there. But what they ARE doing works just fine.

I’ve been in Amsterdam for a week now and have been to only a couple of restaurants, which I would give 5 stars. Coming from NYC, my tongue is(admittedly) snobbish, but as soon as I had a bite of this omelette, I immediately gave this place 5 stars. This omelette now sits on my «Best Foods I’ve Ever Had» list. I got the Billy Goat, which is goat cheese, broccoli, onion, peppers, honey and thyme. Normally in dishes like this, the sweetness of the honey will overpower the food, but they added just the right amount. They actually added just the right amount of everything like the veggies and the cheese. My husband got the Farm Boy and also said the same thing; that they added the right amount of veggies to the omelette. And visually, you have to check out the folds on the omelette! Total food porn /eye candy /nomnomnom! The salad and bread that come with the omelette complement the meal without overpowering it. And get the orange juice! It was so sweet that for a second, I thought they added sugar. No they just get really good oranges. In addition, great service, 10% off with a Unilocal check in(which we forgot to do and added tip because we were so wowed by our food), and a cute, casual ambiance. What’s not to like?

Very tasty omelets! Nice interior and a good atmosphere. I’ve been there twice. I had El Chorizo and Smokin’ Chick, both are highly recommended. I’ll be back soon.

I really liked this place. Hubby was craving a good breakfast and this popped up and it was good. The omelettes were tasty. The egg was light and fluffy and topped off with fresh chives. He had the Smoke N’ Chick — chicken, broccoli and red peppers and I had the Greek wedding with feta, caramelized onions and subs dried tomatoes. Very good. The brown bread is great as well. He wants to go back tomorrow but I’m trying to get him to try a new spot. We’ll see! Oh and if you check in on Unilocal they give you a 10% discount ! The prices weren’t bad either.

Didn’t tried yet their omlettes but I will sure do. Nice rustic atmosphere and good service, it’s one of the nice places De Pijp has. I will come back for more.

Eggs at it’s best! I had Jalapenos with my eggs, just the kick start that I needed. These people clearly love food, and that’s why I love Omelegg. See you soon!

If you’re like me, you probably think omelettes are a bit bland. You think they should be relegated to lazy at-home breakfasts, whereas the true star of going-out-to-eat breakfasts is the beautiful, squishy poached egg(or at least a nicely fried sunny-side up). Omelettes are too easy, too predictable, too boring. Well, let me tell you that if you have any interest in eggs, you have to get your butt over to Omelegg and get ready to be proven wrong. The virtuoso owners have astounded me more than once by showing to me the incredible power and versatility of the humble egg. My favorite is the«El Chorizo» The soft, slightly runny egg mixes perfectly with the oodles of cheeze and the cooked to perfection, way more than enough, fat and satisfying chunks of chorizo. All served with some crusty bread… Take it from an ex-omelette-hater: this place will make you a convert. Go there now!

We loved this place so much that if we could move into the neighborhood, we would be there every Sunday morning for breakfast. The chill environment inside helps with some of the noisier moments outside. But of course, sitting outside is nice and available on wooden benches with wooden tables… simply charming! The menu is a plank of wood with a great list of omelettes, sandwiches, and other tasty breakfast items. We both got the scrambilious that has scrambled eggs with cheese(and what ever add-ons you may enjoy) with a split croissant and a small side salad. Oh my! Great portions, and just a great taste! I don’t think I have mentioned the juice. It seems fresh squeezed orange juice is a «thing» in the Netherlands(or at least in Amsterdam) considering the machine in the Albert Heijns, but their apple juice is also fresh squeezed! Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. This will likely turn into one of «our» places. We can only hope our next apartment is close by!
