I had a very enjoyable dining experience here on Christmas Day with friends. They took our coats upon arrival and sat us at our reserved table. Throughout the night the service was prompt and attentive. The starters and main were both very good — I had the caesar salad which I normally shy away from in Europe but it was excellent and the steak which was perfectly cooked. The provided tap water — even suggested it when we asked for water — which is worth at least one star in this city of overpriced bottled water. They lose one point for a so-so dessert — the gin and tonic sorbet was excellent but the other stuff on the plate was not great. Wine was good but not excellent. And my friends said the menu had not changed in at least a year(the last time they ate there) which I think is both boring and lazy! But otherwise two thumbs up and highly recommended.

Large on taste, small on food quantities. A small place in the Pijp which gets crowded on a Friday night. There is a front and a back area. The front is a busy bar which had a hip crowd, a nice selection of gin(which I unfortunately food not sample). In the back there are tables providing an atmosphere more suited for conversation. Service was fast and attentive, and gave us a table for one hour(since we had not made any reservation). This was no problem since since and food came promptly. Food was reasonable in price and great tasting, although some would find the portions small. I found them just right. Get some home made French fries on the side if you are hungry. At the end the single espresso was really good. Recommended.

Started with a seat at the bar and was impressed by the atmosphere and a fresh flower. Sat down and was immediately asked what i would like to drink. Great beer selection for my fellow beer snobs and gin lovers. Ordered the green bullet which is not from San Diego btw but still very tastey. What amazed me was the quality of the food. Ordered the salad with peanut sauce and the vegetables were a perfect blend of flavour to crisp level. Followed up by the special which was a duck from heaven. Bottom line… go here.

Volt is a nice place for a tasty, nice dinner and some drinks. The menu has good dishes, not too many though, but you will get a very nice presentation on your plate but the volume will be bigger than usual«art food» places:) They also have a terrace which is great during sun time!

Great spot in de Pijp with a good amount of outdoor seating. This is a quintessential spots for after work bitterballen. I met a group of friends here for drinks, but as I get hungry early, I split some snacks with my husband. The cheese croquettes are delicious, and whatever type of bread they use is so tasty! We almost fought over the last piece… but only because it was that good. Service was good. When a new person joined our table, they stopped by to see what they would want. And they are happy to split a bill, especially if you go inside and pick out what items were yours. And just in case you are tempted with the lemonsecco… it’s tart! So, if you like that, go for it, but if you thought it would be sweet(like me), you might want to get something different.

My friend and I chose Volt as our last meal after being in Europe for 3 weeks. I am not sure if it was because we are Americans, I hope not, but this was quite possibly the SLOWEST service I have ever experienced. The servers seemed to be helping everyone but us. We got a drink upon arriving, but it took almost 30 minutes for the server to come over and take our dinner order, then the food took about 45 minutes to arrive. We watched as other customers were seated, and got their food and drinks in about 20 minutes. The food was ok, but I feel it was very overpriced for the quality and small amount. In other words, you are paying for reputation more than food and service quality. I have family in Amsterdam and have been visiting for 25 years. I cannot recommend this restaurant and I will not return in the future. So many other REAL restaurants to visit. I wish you luck!

I would give a normal/good rating if a restaurant can please 2 persons at a time(e.g. me and my dinner partner), but if you can amaze all of us while having dinner with 14 colleagues you get 5 stars. All food in time, high quality and delicious.

Restaurant Volt really stands out in the Pijp due to it’s organic ingredients, great prices, lovely wines and absolutely nice service! The windows are big and it feels like when you eating in a cozy living room. There is also a terrace where you can have you dinner outside. For only 35 euro’s you can choose your own 3-courses dinner! The kitchen is French, but also have some Spanish and Asian influences. Next to the organic meat and fish, there are also delicious oysters as an appetizer, vetarian dishes and also incredible desserts which you definately cannot skip! For example the chocolate dessert which comes with 3 different chocolatemousse!
