Nice place; nice location to people watch — how is it no one crashes as these streets come together? Had tomato soup and a couple grilled sandwiches. All was very good. Service was very good.

Portion Nudeln in Gorgonzolasauce kosten fast 15EUR. Der Service ist freundlich. Da es hier meist vor Touristen nur so wimmelt, dauert es eine Weile bis man das Essen serviert bekommt.

We had breakfast here a couple of mornings on our stay. Was a decent breakfast with a nice staff.

I was contemplating about doing a boat tour, but wanted to have a cup of coffee first. I was looking around and I noticed this place used illy products, and usually when a café promotes illy there’re not that bad, this place was no exception. When I received my cappuccino, my mouthed watered instantly as you can tell just from the foam’s thickness it was do right. From the first to last sip it was perfect. If you love your coffee and tired of coffee chains, stop in here.

In Amsterdam you can walk and walk and walk, and that’s what we did looking for a restaurant that would seat 5 people for lunch. We went here and got sat at a small table, but then a bigger table opened up and they were very nice to move us without us having to ask. The food was very good. I had a sandwich which was very good. Their service was great and if I was in Amsterdam ever again, I would definitely make it a point to go back for lunch.

Very handy place for a sandwich or a coffee while you wait for your boat tour just across the street. They have great Illy espresso and they serve also sandwiches and other good food for a nice break during your shopping or tourist day. They have few tables outside and it is a sunny day you are smack in the sun even if the bar is at 2 streets corner so it can get busy. Opposite as all over the Rokin, the underground works are going on so the view is momentarily not a view at all(it would be the street anyway) Gentle service, quite fast and not overpriced.

The Erwtensoep met katenspek was far above average as was the service. I shall return.

Definitely a nice, quaint café in the heart of Amsterdam. The outdoor seating out front is perfect for people-watching when the weather is nice. I went there a couple of times and enjoyed the food both times — the second time, I got the banana pancakes. With a little honey drizzled on top it was pretty delicious(though really sweet and filling). There’s also a lot of seating inside, including a second floor which, if you can get a window seat, was another great way to view a good portion of the city. Highly recommended.

My husband and I are staying 2 doors down from Meuwese. We stopped here for breakfast on our first day in Amsterdam. I really enjoyed my meal! I ordered the French breakfast, which comes with coffee(more like espresso if you’re from the US), orange juice, croissant(plain or chocolate), french bread, butter, and jam. There are several other«traditional» breakfast options on the menu, including an American breakfast with pancakes, Dutch breakfast with bread, ham, and cheese, and an English breakfast with fried eggs and ham(I think…). My husband ordered a toasted cheese, tomato, and mozzarella sandwich, which was also quite tasty. The coffee was delicious, and it came with a tiny piece of chocolate. Nice touch! The baguette was also really good. I personally love a good French breakfast. It’s the perfect way to start the day! The atmosphere is alright — there’s a bit of construction going on nearby. But the view in the other direction is really nice with the canal in sight. A canal tour boat start location is just across the way, so Meuwese Espresso is a great place to have a bite to eat before going on a tour.
